Sometimes this spar does offers on certain things like the cakes two for a pound or biscuits buy one get one free! I always look out for these offers! Oh before i forget you must try spars chicken samosas. They are very fresh and taste fabulous! They are only 60p or 65p for a big one and they are very filling and make a good quick cheap tea! I will always go to the spar when i forget toilet roll or need some milk!! Great little shops!

Asda is goo if you go after 9pm because they drop there prices immensley on almost everything so you can really get a good bargain! I thnk asda do a great range of clothes for everybody and specially the kids. I usually pick up tshirts and jeans for my son for under a fiver. I think the toys in here are really good as well. Great quality and a very good price. The dvd and cd selection is great. They always get the latest releases and they always beat hmv for prices. What I like about this place is despite being a very standard supermarket store, it has authentic touches like a nice deli, and a butchers shop, which actually looks like a butchers. Other than that if you didn't know any better you'd think you were in an Asda or a Tesco. THe canteen bit is also huge with loads of covers. I keep telling you all, Blackpool isn't the whole you think it is folks!!!

The prices are slightly more than Asda or Aldi but better in some respects than Sainsburys or other supermarkets. Food is fresh and a longer sell by date than those equivalent meat, fish or fruit and veg perishable goods at ASDA. In terms of overall experience, this is best for special occasion shopping such As Christmas, Parties, or large varied non normal shops as well as regular shopping. You pay slightly more but the quality is there.

Morrisons offers brilliant value for money to my mind and the quality and range isn't bad either. Their fresh fish counter is the best of any of the local supermarkets - check it out. The fish always looks super fresh. I also love their pie counter - well I'm a northern lass, of course I love the pie counter! And the instore bread is always good. They do a fine range of deals and I always manage to pick something up on BOGOF And the cafe is great. Waits for tables and food can be long but that's because, for the price, it's worth hanging around.

This branch of Morrisons is a fairly old store in terms of decor which is pretty typical of…read moreMorrisons stores who tend not to be competing with the likes of ASDA, Tesco and Sainsbury's in this fashion and goes for a more old over modern approach but this store is in a good location, right in Blackburn city center, just opposite The Mall. This store is a decent store but isn't a great place to do a weekly shop mainly due to the stock there, but on the other hand i does have some cool things about it, including being the home to Blackburn's Amazon Lockers which are quite a cool way to receive and return parcels when sold directly from Amazon. This supermarket also has a cafe. In some ways, it just feels like it has been left behind, walking up to the supermarket in a way feels like walking into an abandoned building, there is so much empty space and sadly it just doesn't feel nice. Overall, the selection in stores is quite poor for most items, even the gluten free selection was poor as well as the selection for other items as well. The staff didn't seem too helpful either, and that's if I could even find them! The game selection was so poor, there was probably about 4 or 5 games with some prices of good value and some prices highly overpriced, but it was so few in number they might as well not have it, and it was just a fraction to what I would normally see in a supermarket elsewhere, for example this game selection was smaller than what you would see for just one console in another supermarket. Frustrating. Overall, the store not only lacks the feel of a good supermarket, it has a poor selection too with some items which were highly overpriced, while also taking poor service into account I sadly feel the only two strong points for this branch of Morrisons is the location and having Amazon Lockers, which in its' own isn't enough to warrant anything over a single one star, in all honesty the Amazon Lockers would even be better to be located across the way in The Mall.

I love the coffee and scones / croissants you can get there. The second-hand clothing and household items are good to shop for too.
