I used to get my pup groomed by Miki back when she was at the Silverlake location, which is very convenient for me. But alas, she moved to the Pasadena location! Over the last year and a half or so, I've tried other groomers...mobile ones, highly recommended ones, less expensive ones, more expensive ones. I finally decided to take Archie back to Miki, and I'm so glad I did. She's the only groomer we have tried who seems to genuinely love dogs. This may sound cuckoo, but she takes a true interest in asking about him and giving him love when we arrive. She's also the only groomer that I am confident won't chop his whiskers off, shave him completely when I ask for a light trim, or leave his coat jagged looking! All issues I've had with other groomers... Miki and all of the staff at Healthy Spot, both grooming and retail side, are really pleasant to deal with. I'm so glad Healthy Spot properly vets their grooming staff before they hire them. And Miki is just the sweetest. She even called me after I got home today to discuss some allergy recommendations she had (Archie has very bad allergies and lick his paws til they're red). I truly hope she doesn't move to a further Healthy Spot again, but if she does...we may still follow her!! read more

I take care of 2 cocker spaniels who were recently diagnosed with several food allergies- each were allergic to different proteins and both were allergic to rice. It was my first time exploring Healthy Spot. We moved here not too long ago and recently got a puppy. We live in the area so walking distance has always been Pet Food Express but we decided to take a different route and try Healthy Spot. I can't express my gratitude to Sam for helping me with all my questions and even training tips. She worked with me and Juni the whole time! We tried on a new harness and Sam showed me exactly how it functions and took the time to walk Juni around the store to see if it was a good fit. I didn't bring any treats with me on our walk and as a puppy she's a bit difficult right now, so sam bagged me up a few extra little treats to help make my walk back home much easier. This place is absolutely incredible! I am so glad they opened this location, which is a nice walk or a very quick drive away from me. I have taken my pup here several times for grooming and visit a few times a month for food/treats for my dog. The people really are what make this place shine. Every single person who works here is super friendly, knowledgeable, and most importantly truly loves animals. They always take the time to talk with you about your furbaby to provide options for you and give you advice. And the grooming has been great every time - last time they even gave my dog an adorable little bandana! He looks and smells great whenever he comes back and he really loves the new food and snacks we have been giving him to help him live a longer, healthier life. Would not recommend grooming your dog here. My dog basically spent 5 hours in a cage - she was bursting to pee and poo when she got home. She was panting with stress! Jae said it would take 3 hours. When I called after 4 hours had gone by - Robert answered and said my dog was not ready. Before he hangs up the phone he mumbles "whatever". After 5 hours, they call me and tell me to come "now" and again Robert says "whatever" under his breath before hanging up. Grooming quality - nails are still super long, feet hair left sloppy and long (I've never seen such a mismatch with legs trimmed tightly but feet left straggly and long). I paid extra for dental cleaning - I guess no way to know if it was done or just paid for. Later in the day, my dogs left eye became sticky, red and irritated. Had to take her to the vet for irritation from the dog shampoo and antibiotic eye drops. Overall, they took too long, dog was super stressed, eye irritation/infection from sloppy washing and grooming, Robert was rude on the phone twice (like we are inconveniencing him to do his job), and the grooming was subpar for $100. Will not recommend and will not return. Jae was super sweet but maybe they are overbooking him so that the quality and quantity of time is trash. read more

We have been taking our Shiba Inu Simba there since he was a puppy. The staff is so friendly, welcoming and ALWAYS remember Simba! They have helped us with supplements for his food and healthy treats to spice up his treat jar! We also get him groomed there. Shibas don't typically need a lot of grooming but we've always had his nails trimmed there and are now taking him to get some extra love for his coat. I just have to rave about Donna. She loved Simba from the moment she met him. Her care is just phenomenal. She really goes the extra mile making both you and your pet feel comfortable. She is super gentle, loving, and very experienced as well -- which eases your mind when leaving your furbaby! Can't say enough good things about her! Found this going to the animal hospital next door, I've been here twice and bought treats and toys both times. Most recently, I stopped by and bought some premium dog treats. They have a decent selection of premium treats and prices are okay for a boutique style shop. This store is a little smaller than our local DTLA Healthy Spot, or at least seems that way... but nevertheless this is a very nicely laid out and super-friendly location. When I arrived with my pup, we were greeted and he was offered a treat. He's a bit of a treat-hog, so we usually have to cut him off at Healthy Spots. He's a master of the sad-eyes-beggy-face. They have a really great selection of healthy treats, foods, and freezer items. I also appreciate that they seem to have stock of Bear and the Rat ice cream and sometimes different flavors than we get in DTLA. My guy loves Bear and the Rat ice cream. They also have some nice toys, accessories, and just about anything you'd want for your little fur-friends. Staff has always been super nice every time we're in there, happy to give suggestions or offer insight into products. We've not used the grooming in Pasadena, but have in DTLA with good results, though my pup is more of a throw him in the tub for a scrub kind of dog, so can't really comment on how their groomers are at this location. This location is pretty solid. It's located right on Colorado, there's generous parking in the back, and it's a great neighborhood to park and walk around with the pups before or after, too. read more

Took my 3 year old labradoodle (Friday is his name) to get groomed here yesterday. He is usually a handful when it comes to being groomed and going to the vet but I've never seen him in such a good mood before or after a grooming appointment. The staff was so caring and responsive to him, not to mention skilled in grooming. At other groomers, he often comes back looking kind of weird and uncomfortable, but here it was obvious they knew what they were doing, giving him a perfect cut that got rid of his mats while still maintaining his natural appearance. I love the store but the grooming is pretty lousy. My dog had a 12pm appt and was in a crate til 2pm until they actually started the process. She was clean from the bath but you could hardly tell any difference from the "face feet tail" cut. On top of that her nails were insane. Half of them were not trimmed and the others were so sharp that my dog cut herself underneath her eye shortly after bringing her home. I had to get her nails fixed at my usual groomer.
