One of the most wonderful things this great group does is put bronze sculptures and monuments all around Tulsa and most eye-catching--along River Parks on Riverside Dr. While visiting Tulsa, I was captivated by this public art. The annual NatureWorks Art Show and Sale helps to fund much of their work. At these Art Shows, supporters can browse paintings, sculptures and wooden carvings by the top wildlife, western and landscape artists across the United States. 30% of each art sale goes toward supporting the development and conservation of Oklahoma's natural habitats, as well as the creatures who live in and depend upon those habitats. What a wonderful group! I think the sculptures along the River Parks are amazing and so is NatureWorks!

There is a small parking lot and there are sets of steps on each end of the hill if you're inclined to get up close with Mister Buffalo. The plaque indicates that it was dedicated on November 16, 2007 by the Sapulpa Chamber of Commerce in celebration of the Oklahoma Centennial 1907-2007. The sculptor was Jim Gilmore. The Uptown neighbourhood is really great and rivals Plaza in some ways (not others) as the coolest neighbourhood in town. You have Tucker's Onion Burgers (my fave location) which are delicious - and then right next door you have a bunch of some of the best Chinatown stuff you can imagine in such a small City like Oklahoma City. Chinatown is technically separate from Uptown, but they're neighbours, so it works out. The Chinatown here is really growing and is surprisingly awesome. Try Quoc Bao for Banh Mi sandwiches, and the smoothies (Honeydew, Berry, Taro Coconut, Mocha) at Bambu. Now if you'll excuse me I have to hang out with Alexa Rae Joel.

The surroundings are a view within itself (river across the street... ducks crossing the street). A DJ was playing inside while a lot of networking was going on outside. Fast forward to a couple of days ago, I ended up DJing with a stacked lineup performing, which gave me a different POV. I enjoyed the space, the staff was very hands-on & made sure things were going ok. I liked the greenroom where I was hanging out with the artists. All in all, good experience.
