I lost my 15 yr. old cat Brooklyn who slept with me every night. I'm not sure what she passed away from but loosing her has just been so heard and I feel like part of me went with her. Heartland Pet Cremation were so kind to me during this time of loss and grief. They gave me some of Brooklyns fur, her paw print, her urn which I bought a name plate for and a lovely card which showed me that they cared and knew what I was going through loosing her. They have prepared two of my other pets through the years and I would go to no one else but them. They are just so kind and understanding. Heartland Pet Cremation is there to support you when the worst happens to your pet family. The staff is by far the best. My pup passed on Saturday and they opened on Sunday just for me to bring her and make arrangements and they didn't charge anything additional. Tony was respectful, knowledgeable and made the process painless. The prices vary on the package, but I felt they were reasonable. I dropped her off on Sunday and they had her remains ready on Monday afternoon. That was a quick turnaround compared to when I previously did this for one of my other pups at a different location. Lienna greeted us when we went to pick up the remains and she, like Tony, was very knowledgeable and kind. Lienna was also willing to wait an additional hour after closing to ensure we were able bring our pups remains back home. I would give the company a 5 out of 5 star rating based on the professionalism, empathy/sympathy, knowledge and overall respect and kindness. My review of this Exceptional business and the Owners is Long Overdue as the emotional heartache from losing my Beloved Border Collie, Ms. Mattie May wears heavy on my heart Every Day~months after her passing. I rescued Mattie May on a Hot Summer Day in the State of Georgia. Her owners had left her and her pup to fend for themselves and drove away and left them. Horrific! I found her pup a Loving and Forever Home and I took Mattie home. I called my vet first thing the following morning and brought her in. A Heartworm Test showed that the poor girl had Heartworm :( I asked the vet to do Anything and Everything to make her well. Thankfully, it was at the Very Early Stages, but she had to go through the awful treatment just the same. The vet estimated her to be around 7 years old at the time. I had another 7-1/2 Incredible Years with my Very Best Friend. Tears fill my eyes as I am writing as the Void in my Heart Remains as if her passing was Yesterday. She is in Heaven, Without Pain and In Peace. Mattie's last vet appointment showed a Tumor on her Spleen~which is one of the Worst Diagnosis for a dog. Even a 2 year old dog that has Surgery followed by Chemo. typically only lives a couple of months even after all of that treatment. Mattie was 14-1/2. She had stopped eating. I prayed and asked God to Please Help Me. It was The Most Heartbreaking Decision. God Gently let me know that He puts people in our lives to allow our pets to pass on to Heaven, to put an end to their suffering here on this earth in the most humane way. I spoke with my Vet Hospital~Wonderful folks as well~I will post separate review) who told me that they have someone from Louisville who comes down twice a week to pick up animals for cremation. I was Horrified and Cried Hysterically. I Couldn't Possibly Imagine... It was then that I discovered Heartland Pet Hospital. I called them late in the day. The owner Pete answered and was Extremely Compassionate at the onset of my call. While sharing the details, he told me that they were scheduled to go away that day, but I could tell he wanted to assist me. I apologized and asked if they could please assist me the following day. "No, we don't want you to have to wait...please allow me to call you back in a few minutes." Just as promised, my phone rang. He told me the gentleman's name who would meet us at our Vet. It was late in the day as I couldn't bear to have anyone there. The Professionalism and Kindness of the man who met us there, Words Cannot Possibly Describe. My apologies as I don't remember his name, I was So Distraught.... This Gentleman waited outside in a discreet way that didn't make me feel hurried in the least. I came out of the vet Totally Hysterical and went to my vehicle where I cried my eyes out. He waited in his vehicle until we departed the parking lot. I had the Pleasure of speaking with Pete's Lovely Wife Kelly. She is Such a Beautiful Lady on the Inside as Well as the Outside! An Angel Sent from God to be with us! Pete and Kelly once again stayed late to allow us to pick Mattie May up. Words Cannot Possibly Convey our Deep and Heartfelt Appreciation to these Incredible Folks who are Such a Blessing! They are Loving, Compassionate and The Kindest, Most Sincere People on this Planet. They are doing Gods' Work in Each and Every Breath they take.
