We had never tried Mr. Anthony's, but that night, I'm so glad we did! They did a fine job on my dad's shoes (which, believe me, seemed to have no hope that I had to convince him to buy a new one already), and they looked like a brand new pair. They glued a very thick piece of real leather sole as a replacement and coverup, and up to now, I think he's still using it. (We visited the repair shop last Jan 2014). I'm pretty sure that the people at the dorm office are hella tired of letting me borrow extra keys to duplicate, but unfortunately they have no choice. However, I think that my issue is made a million times easier by the presence of Mr. Quickie in basically every single retail area in Manila. Mr. Quickie is by far the easiest way of getting duplicate keys ever. And they're hella cheap too. So cheap, that one time, in exhaustion of losing my keys I ended up getting 4 duplicates at once. (Yes, all of them eventually got lost again.) Not only is it cheap, but Mr. Quickie lives up to its name by being very fast. It took literally one trip to Mercury Drug to by some shampoo to get a duplicate done. They're also a great place to get shoes repaired - they repair pretty damn well. For me, a good repair means that it lasts for at least 50% of the original life of the product. Most of the time, it really does reach that far. Mr. Quickie is fast, and does their job with quality. What more could you want?

I remember my school shoes being utterly hopeless and wondered if I should just get a new pair, but Mr. Quickie did its magic and was able to restore it in no time. They have reasonable prices for their services and their staff is friendly. They also do some consultation first if your shoe can still be repaired. That's customer service right there.

Somehow, the stitching became weak and was starting to come off. I told my Mom about it and she told me she'd take care of it and bring it to shoe care. After a day, my shoes came back looking good as new. They patched and stitched it to perfection! My shoes came back looking brand new! I couldn't even notice how they repaired it. Aside from repairing it, they brought back the condition of the leather to how it was when I bought it and cleaned the back of the shoe as part of the repair (the back part gets dirty from driving sometimes). The next time you think of throwing a pair of shoes away because of a hole or something, try bringing it first to shoe care and see if they can bring it back to its former glory. They certainly did that with my pair of loafers. They can stitch it, patch it, clean it, shine it, and probably do some jobs you'd think were impossible to repair. Thank you to these guys! Dropped off a couple of tailored shirts that needed sleeve adjustments and some delicate hemming on silk pants--plus my favorite leather bag for a deep clean and conditioning. The team was super attentive, explained everything clearly, and even caught a small tear I hadn't noticed on one shirt before it got worse. Everything came back looking brand new, perfect stitches, no shortcuts, and the bag smells amazing again. Prices feel totally fair for the level of care and expertise you get--no redos needed, ever. Hands down the best alterations and cleaning spot around--5 stars all the way, I keep sending friends here too!

You'll have to end up buying new clothes since there's no repairing the damage their "alterations" have done. Hemming- kita the stitches outside. They said they didn't have the machine that could hide the stitches, so even if they repeated the job, the effect would be the same. I wish they had the courtesy to say that in the first place. Stitching - they only used ONE thread that could easily break if the item was stretched. Specifics were not followed despite repeated instructions- they ruined the silhouette of the clothes despite having agreed to leave allowance for comfort. No going back from that. Worst of all- deadma ang customer service. Take it or leave it. Terrible experience, mapapa walk out ka na lang. Please please please do yourself a favor and STEER CLEAR of this place. This business was introduced to me by my sister. She once gave me an old belt from my grand father, a YSL, telling me that I could have it if I could find someone to repair it an replace the leather since years of no use has left it dry and no longer in a condition fit for wear. I can say that their services are quite excellent. They know how to take care, repair, and even make things out of leather. They import their leather from Italy so you can be sure that their materials are at least world class. It's expensive to have the leather replaced on my belt, but such is the price of quality.

The people here have mastered the art of restoration that getting my shoes back after a cleaning session never fails to make me feel as if I've gone shoe shopping: crazy, relentless shoe shopping! 10 pairs in a day! Because the shoes look so clean - almost like new! Just a downside: their rates are a bit high and it also takes them a while to accomplish the task. Call me Imelda but for my beloved shoes, I am willing to pay and wait.
