I went back in to see if swapping out for a longer bar would fix the issue. I especially wanted to check it because I was going to be traveling to another country soon. The piercer I met with assured me that it was fine. It was not fine. Later that week, the jewelry started embedding in my skin (yes, it's as gross and horrifying as it sounds). I had to last minute find another piercer while in another country to get it checked. The piercer I went to said I needed to switch out for a longer bar, which is exactly the problem I had gone back to the studio for (this meant I had to pay another couple hundred for new jewelry as well). When she took out the jewelry that I had gotten at Black Moon, she literally gasped and said that she had never seen a professional piercer use such a short bar while the piercing was healing. As soon as it was switched out, it started healing fine. When I got back, I reached out to Black Moon to see if they could do anything to compensate me for the extra cost I incurred from their ignoring the issue with the bar in the first place. They haven't bothered responding. I came to Black Moon because of the glowing reviews, but my experience really doesn't align with them. I guess most of the reviews are about the initial experience of getting pierced (which honestly for me was also uncomfortable and rushed and the male piercer I had kept calling me sweetheart), but the most important factor for a piercing studio to me is how they handle issues when they arise.The jewelry is also really expensive - which I would've considered worth it to have a knowledgeable and experienced piercer - but that was not the case.

I had four ear piercings before I came to Black Moon Piercing and now I have 11 and am thinking on what my 12th and 13th should be. The additional piercings were all done at Black Moon Piercing and my favorite piercer: Brie! Brie is so kind and patient. She has a great sense of style on jewelry and where a piecing should be placed. She's also very open to feedback. When I wanted something slightly to the left or right, she has no problem adjusting. I haven't gone to any other studio because of her. The ear photos after the appointment always come out great. She's been helping me create a celestial earscape and I can't wait to see how my ears will turn out this year! This location has a good selection of jewelry and is very clean. Plenty of parking. I'm a huge fan of this location and will be coming back in February.

DO NOT COME HERE I came here on October 12th 2025 for a belly button piercing. Not only did they…read moretell me I did not have the anatomy for it but they also told me I would be better off with a bottom naval piercing (piercing the bottom of the belly button). It was confirmed by AT LEAST 4 piercing places later that that would completely false news. I DID have the anatomy for the initial piercing I wanted AND did not for the one they suggested and I got. Even at this, they did not do it properly, piercing my surface of my stomach and not my belly button. They continued to put off my questions about proper healing and where to find jewelry later on, especially because they pierced me with a 14mm bar which is not even possibly to buy being that belly button bars are typically 10mm. I am incredibly upset with my time here I now have wasted $100, 3 months of my time, and have a permanent scar for the rest of my life. Staff was nice but means nothing when they're not doing their piercings right. Please learn from my mistake.
