I was in town to visit and searched up local tattoo shops so I decided on this place. I was able to get a same day appointment and asked for a simple cross design on my finger. Tyler was my tattoo artist. I left the shop paying the $100 minimum for a simple tattoo- fair. However, when I left the tattoo was uneven, and when I texted them that night to fix it I did not get a response. I decided to show up the next morning where they fixed my tattoo (kind of) and went on my way. During the healing process I noticed a spot that was artificially tattooed- I thought it didn't look like it was penetrated into my skin enough as the rest of the tattoo. When I went in for them to fix it initially I already was made to feel like a bother so I figured, maybe it will heal right- they are the ones experienced in this right? I was in town visiting again this weekend so I had asked them for another retouch. I live 2 hours away and this is a 10 second fix. They did not answer my message and then I called them the next day where they finally answered. They could not accommodate to fix my tattoo until Monday. I shared that I leave town Sunday and would love if someone can just try and fix up my tattoo. It clearly is a botched tattoo and this is the second problem I've had with it. First the lines were uneven, and second there is a gap in the line (not to mention that it's crooked). They said they can get me in at 5pm Sunday as they had limited artists and shared how they warned me that a finger tattoo may often need touch ups. My tattoo isn't even a month old at this point and I was already in need of a touch up. I went back in to see if swapping out for a longer bar would fix the issue. I especially wanted to check it because I was going to be traveling to another country soon. The piercer I met with assured me that it was fine. It was not fine. Later that week, the jewelry started embedding in my skin (yes, it's as gross and horrifying as it sounds). I had to last minute find another piercer while in another country to get it checked. The piercer I went to said I needed to switch out for a longer bar, which is exactly the problem I had gone back to the studio for (this meant I had to pay another couple hundred for new jewelry as well). When she took out the jewelry that I had gotten at Black Moon, she literally gasped and said that she had never seen a professional piercer use such a short bar while the piercing was healing. As soon as it was switched out, it started healing fine. When I got back, I reached out to Black Moon to see if they could do anything to compensate me for the extra cost I incurred from their ignoring the issue with the bar in the first place. They haven't bothered responding. I came to Black Moon because of the glowing reviews, but my experience really doesn't align with them. I guess most of the reviews are about the initial experience of getting pierced (which honestly for me was also uncomfortable and rushed and the male piercer I had kept calling me sweetheart), but the most important factor for a piercing studio to me is how they handle issues when they arise.The jewelry is also really expensive - which I would've considered worth it to have a knowledgeable and experienced piercer - but that was not the case.

I knew that I wanted rings (though beware: getting piercing with rings might make the healing process more annoying because the piercing can be irritated more easily) so I picked the surgical steel rings. (I don't remember if they were implant grade now though. I didn't react to the material anyway. For people looking to get pierced, you should double check that.) Chuck was both professional and very helpful. When he was marking the placement on my ears, he gave me a few choices and even suggested one combo over another. I was thankful for it because I have super tiny ears and I didn't want it to look too crowded. Nearly 5 months later, my piercings are perfectly fine. DO NOT COME HERE I came here on October 12th 2025 for a belly button piercing. Not only did they…read moretell me I did not have the anatomy for it but they also told me I would be better off with a bottom naval piercing (piercing the bottom of the belly button). It was confirmed by AT LEAST 4 piercing places later that that would completely false news. I DID have the anatomy for the initial piercing I wanted AND did not for the one they suggested and I got. Even at this, they did not do it properly, piercing my surface of my stomach and not my belly button. They continued to put off my questions about proper healing and where to find jewelry later on, especially because they pierced me with a 14mm bar which is not even possibly to buy being that belly button bars are typically 10mm. I am incredibly upset with my time here I now have wasted $100, 3 months of my time, and have a permanent scar for the rest of my life.
