My nails were beautiful and she completely understood my love of glitter. That's where Syer's came in, after running around in a huge panic my mum took me here and I'm very glad she did. I explained to the receptionist what I wanted and she recommended the right stylist with the experience to pull it off. I didn't want traditional wedding hair, I wanted vintage 40's/50's curls. After a free 20 minute consultation, I was booked in for a trial and for the wedding day. I was very happy with Leigh, the stylist. She listened to what I wanted, made great suggestions and on the big day my hair looked amazing. I loved this place so much I going to make it my permanent hairdressers, making the trek across the city from Kings Norton to Sutton. The only down side to this salon is that it's huge, making it very noisy when it gets busy.

IF YOU WANT BOTCHED BROWS BY THE OWNER OF THE SALON THEN BOOK IN HERE!…read more Booked in for a HD Tint and Wax with Rachel following a HD Brow treatment by Ellie a couple of months ago. My brows are quite sparse and take months to get to the point where they need seeing to so I was going in today literally for a slight tidy up and to refresh the tint as I have an event at the weekend. I arrived at the salon and as I was waiting another customer appeared who seemed to know Rachel. When Rachel came to greet me she didn't introduce herself or even give me much of a welcome to be honest as she was more interested in the other lady that had come in. She said to the other lady as I was walking to the treatment cubicle that she wouldn't be long (sounded like she was trying to fit her friend in for a treatment even though this salon is nigh on impossible to get an appointment in). In the cubicle the only question Rachel asked me was what colour I had last time. She didn't ask me anything about how I like my brows or the shape I was after (this only occurred to me afterwards when I looked at the finished product in the mirror). Rachel applies the dye and literally wipes it off nearly as soon as she'd applied it. She didn't show me the colour at this point in the mirror to ask if I'd like it any darker. She then proceeded to wax my brows and then started tweezing - I did feel as I was laying there that she was tweezing in areas that I wouldn't normally but as she is the expert and I had put my trust in her I thought, no, she knows what she is doing she is the salon owner. She then said 'oh I'm not going to keep plucking because one eyebrow is slightly more rounded than the other'. I'm aware my brows aren't identical twins but alarm bells did start ringing at this point. Once she'd finished she said take a look and see what you think. At my previous appointment with Ellie, at this point she handed me the mirror and she'd left more brow there because obviously she didn't want to take too much off in case I didn't like it. You can take hair off but you can't replace it once it has gone. So at this appointment I was expecting to look in the mirror and for my brows to look tidy and I possibly may need to say I'd like a little more off in certain areas. Oh how wrong I was. I looked in the mirror and instantly wanted to cry. My eyebrows are now not only completely odd in shape compared to one and other but there's nothing left of them! Had Rachel bothered to ask me how I like my brows I would have told her I prefer the bushy brow look and it has taken me almost a year to grow my eyebrows out to achieve this look because my brows are naturally sparse. A years worth of growing my brows was wiped away in 5 minutes. To put it into context, she has widened the gap in between my brows considerably and one brow is further inwards than the other. She has plucked a bald patch into one of my eyebrows as well. The tint she applied did barely anything at all, probably due to the fact that it wasn't left on for hardly any time at all. I instantly said 'what have you done!?' I said you've taken too much from the middle and she said she takes it back so it is in line with the tear duct. One of my brows is in line with my tear duct but the other one is not. Had she not been rushing my appointment to get to her friend and actually asked me what I like then I would have told her that I don't like too much taken from the middle. When Ellie did my brows previously she didn't take anything from the middle and asked me how much I would like taken off. All Rachel kept saying was 'you had the full HD effect last time' I repeatedly asked her what the difference was between what I had last time and what I've had today because the main difference to me was that Rachel took off too much hair. She literally couldn't give me an explanation as to what the 'HD effect' was. She is the owner of the salon and couldn't provide me with an explanation of the treatment she offers. This is worrying... I started getting upset so I left the cubicle and waited at the front desk for her to appear. She came and said she wouldn't charge me for the appointment (I wasn't going to pay for the botched treatment anyway!) and I asked her again what exactly is the difference between the treatments and I could see from her face she couldn't give me an explanation. She just said 'I'm not a HD expert and they'll grow back' and with that I left the salon. 'They'll grow back' HOW INSULTING!??? I got in the car and burst into tears. I FaceTimed my husband and even he could see my eyebrows were a mess. If you want a rushed appointment resulting in a botched procedure then book an appointment here. Thank god I hadn't booked in for any of the injectable procedures they offer...

This clinic is not just your basic nail polishes.All sorts of treatments including facials, massages and waxing are all offered at reasonable prices. Products like Espa and bare minerals make up are on sale and the staff are extremely helpful offering advice on which products are suitable for differing skin types. I cannot rate the place highly enough and would definitely recommend this Clinic as your go to Salon for the best treatments in a relaxing and peaceful atmosphere in the Stourbridge area.

My sisters prom was coming up so as a treat I thought I would take her to get her hair done! I had…read moreheard from a friend that Simis was a good place to go and I thought I would give it a go. On arrival they were friendly but they were very scattered. In the middle of doing her hair the lady had a phone call to book another appointment with someone else and just left us waiting which was quite rude. On top of that she told us that my sister should have straightened her hair before arriving but we weren't told this. I need to mention that my sister has thigh length thick hair and its not too difficult to manage but I did say this to Simi when booking the appointment and she assured me it would not be more than £35. I understand her hair may have been long and thick but you go to a hair stylist for them to do a hairstyle on your hair. I would have thought that straightening hair is included in this. After finally doing her hair which by the way was not a difficult hairstyle to do at all, she suggested we go and buy some hairpins to make it look pretty. This is silly, had we been told to buy some earlier we would have. Then when paying the lady goes its £40 and I refused to pay that money because I had told her how long her hair was and how thick it was and she had assured me it wouldnt be more. She gave in and said ok. I'm not saying Simis is a bad place to go to, All I am saying is for the amount you pay to get a hairstyle done, it is not worth it. You might aswell go to a professional. They are friendly, but they could have handled the situation better by telling me what I needed to have with me or by telling me my sister should have had her hair straightened in advance (although this should be provided). I wouldn't come back here again as for the same price I could go to a professional place who would do an amazing job and with a much more professional courtesy too. Also within a few hours my sisters hair had already come out. Completely disappointed. Also all the reviews on simis seem to be for threading or waxing so maybe for that purpose its a good place, but for a hairstyle, never again.
