The best foam I've had in an espresso in a long time and perfect espresso strong on flavor. I sat at the small bar but the restaurant itself is pretty intimate and nicely lit and decorated. Lots of nice touches. The chandeliers and the wine cabinet against the wall are their main attraction. It wasn't super busy but the staff were nice and efficient. I also tried the a saw salmon roe caviar which came with all the fixings. It was super nice and light and I liked it wasn't so salty. With the lemon and onion it takes in a whole new flavor. Loved this. They offer several different caviar options, yet I had never tried this so I went with new! Had the best espresso martini in town here! Also just loved that a really nice place can exist but you can still feel relaxed and the staff were the same. If I ever come back to Stockholm I'd come back here to eat a full dinner.

We were seated by the window, and had to really struggle to get into out seats (that's how crowded it was). The sofa we sat in had a broken back which we were reminded of constantly as it is quite natural to lean back at times... Irritating. Our waiter was overly friendly and made quite a big deal out of giving us menus, taking orders and serving. I had the steak tartare, with some alterations (I ordered 200g for 50 SEK extra, and a big salad rather than fries) that caused no problems. The food arrived within reasonable time. The steak was in the french form of a ready-blended patty (I prefer the neat and clean kind), similar to the one at Bistro Berns. The taste was good and fresh. I appreciated that the meat was cool, not cold - nice! So, plus for the food and minus for the crowd!

I was craving escargot snails which are listed on their very minimal menu, but they said that they haven't had a shipment of them for about 2 weeks so I was a bit disappointed about that, which is the only reason I'm removing two stars. It was the only reason I chose the restaurant in the first place and for that, I had brought my friends out of their way for me to get it, which we were unsuccessful :( Im removing the second star because, although I appreciate the fact that they excel in the options that they offer, there are so little choices. Even the dinner menu is minimal. I settled for the French onion soup instead which was nice but not what I wanted at all. I can't see anyone wanting to return to this restaurant after one time

Once I found the steak, chicken, cod or houlumi cheese meal, I was happy. My fish came with a delicious side salad that was superbly fresh and balanced. Frites and a great portion of cod with a butter wine tarragon sauce. They bring out a heated stainless plate and warn you, "it's a bit warm". NO! It's hot enough to sizzle water drops. It's very hot but keeps your cod and sauce hot the entire meal. The fries were average. I tried my wife croque and that was a very tasty and delicious open faced sandwich. I like this spot and recommend it.

Finally I've gotten the chance to try this place for myself, and it did not disappoint. The servers are efficient and polite, and the selection of pastries, breakfast and lunch when I was there was top notch. I ordered an omelette with smoked salmon and spinach, which came with a side salad topped off with authentic dijon mustard - a rarity in Sweden. For anyone missing the flavour of France, I would certainly recommend La Petite France. The prices are very reasonable considering the quality of the food. The only warning I have is that the seating becomes quite limited at busy hours (breakfast, lunch, fika and dinner), so be sure to plan ahead. The location is in a generally quiet quarter of Kungsholmen (unfortunately there was construction going on right across when I was there, but other than that, it's not noisy at all). Seating is mostly outdoors but also available indoors, and the outdoor tables are surprisingly well-shielded from rainstorms, as I found out by chance.

I planned my whole Stockholm trip around coming here, and was lucky enough to snag a solo reservation for dinner the last night of my trip in May 2025. Truly nothing comes close to the overall service & hospitality experience and quality of the food and drinks. I have dietary restrictions (no red meat), that they could accommodate with no problem and even provide a printed menu that represented my exact substitutions, which rarely happens for me. The night I came, Björn Frabtzén received a third Michelin star at Frantzén's sister restaurant in Dubai, becoming the only chef in the world to helm three 3-Michelin star restaurants simultaneously, and my experience here really shows why they are the best of the best. You enter from a lobby and are greeted by a host who will guide you through the experience. I had the opportunity to use the restroom and then got a peak into some of the meats I'd be enjoying for my meal in the entryway itself. You then go up an elevator to the Lounge, where you get your first look at the drink menu and your first bites. Frantzén was one of the first restaurants to really champion this experience of moving from room to room for different courses and it sets an ambiance almost of eating at someone's home. It's casual but decadent and the chefs walk you through all of the ingredients you're about to enjoy while casually chit chatting and enjoying the best canapés of your life. After the starters, you're taken through the prep kitchen and the wine cellar to the actual restaurant, which is a large open kitchen where you get to watch the chefs work while enjoying your meal. I was celebrating my birthday, and despite getting the NA pairing (which was excellent minus one drink towards the end) had so many additional generous free pours of incredible wines and champagne throughout the night. Well worth it, as their sommelier won best sommelier at the Scandinavia Michelin ceremony one month later in June 2025, and some of the glasses they gave me for free were easily $100 a piece. Come hungry, because you'll leave stuffed beyond belief for a 5-6 hour meal (and can always hang out longer if the restaurant hasn't closed up for the night.) This menu is legendary and best to go in without too many spoilers, but I had the best dish of my life - the tear drop peas chanwamushi - sweet, so tender, unreal. Another guest told me they wait all year for pea season to get this version of the dish. After dinner, you move back into the lounge where you're treated to after dinner drinks, teas, light sweets (that they will box up for you if you're too full) and the famous cardamom, brown butter, and Madeira madeleines. These mini-versions of madeleines come in a set of 9, are made fresh to order, and are refilled for however long you want to sit and enjoy the ambiance and chat at the end of the night. I felt like over the course of this part in particular, I made friends with other diners and the staff and had one of the most memorable and enjoyable experiences of my life. Frantzén is one of the best in the world (and if Reddit is to be believed, the very best) for a reason.

The place has a cozy feel and I especially love stopping by in autumn and winter for some soup or casseroles. They also do excellent salads so for spring an summer that is a great alternative. Price wise it is in the mid-range (in Stockholm) but lunches are often good value. Reservations are recommended as the place fills up quickly (they do however have some seats along the window that are for walk-ins). Wine list is not super extensive but what they have on it is carefully selected. The one thing that has not been top class on my past visits is the service. It has been knowledgeable but they have somewhat lost the friendliness that I used to find here. Service is by no means bad or rude so still above the average but not as great as it used to be. While it is cozy it is still not the place for discrete conversations as the tables are close to each other so one can easily hear what others are talking about. To summarize still one of the better French mid-range restaurants in town.
