Have them a call and ft an appointment for the next day. I originally wanted a color that wasn't coming out the right way..but they found another way to make sure I got the color I wanted. My mani pedi came out flawlessly and it lasted a long time! I am officially a lifetime customer of theirs. A couple notes to people considering going here: -This is a family from business so please honor your appointments. They do a great job honoring appointments by not overbooking... so please extend the same courtesy to them:) -they accept walk-ins, but if you don't have an appointment, you may have to wait a little. They are realistic about wait times. -They really want to make you happy, so it helps if you know what you want and share it with them. I walked to this shop (don't drive & gps said closest to me) couple weeks ago. I then decided "OK" service ..I got basic pedicure & manicure with No polish. Today I got there 10:06 (opens 10)..& DOOR was locked. After knockg, sm1 came to door as she Already had a customer. She Literally Cracked the door and asked why I was there..LOL. She then Gradually opened the door..MY Color?? I waited few min..then a 2nd worker came in...1.) I come here all the time and I've always had an excellent experience! I always get a no chip manicure and my nails are always shaped nicely, painted very well, and the paint lasts. I've had some designs done for holidays as well and they always turn out beautiful. I never feel rushed, and if I want something different like a holiday design, they help make my ideas a reality. I'm a little torn on if i enjoyed my experience or if I'm disappointed. I called the day of to see when would be the best time for me to walk-in for a no chip and pedicure. I showed up at the given time and was able to get my nails done right away. First, the service was friendly and quick. The newly renovated interior was nice, everything was clean. She pulled out sterile utensils from a bag and began to work on me. Why I'm disappointed, I didn't like their technique. For starters the pedicure was going well until she tells me she will only apply 1 coat because its a dark color.... never heard of this. Then for the no chip, I don't like it when salons file my nails beds, I think it's poor practice. Plus side, the no chip lasted 3 weeks! Which is amazing :) read more

This is one of those hidden gems. Helen's nails is tucked away in the Salem plaza, but a place you need to visit. When I arrived I was greeted immediately, I didn't have a appointment, but I was taken in right away. It is very clean and the decor is very cute. They also have Netflix playing movies which is a plus while getting your nails done. The staff is very nice and great to talk to. I got the no chip mood changing polish which I'm obsessed with! I didn't get the name of who did my nails, but she did a great job. One of the best I ever had! I would recommend anyone to go here. I have never been treated so badly. I had an appointment which I made days ago. I came in and told them my name and appointment information. After they started shaping my nails another customer came in with more expensive service requested. The owner turned on me and told me I didn't have an appointment and he couldn't take me. Accused me of lying and asked me to prove that I called him by showing him my caller ID, which I did and his number was in my history and he again accused me of lying. When I called to make the appointment it was him that I spoke with and I was able to repeat the exact conversation. This was totally humiliating as it was witnessed by many customers who I'm sure they thought I was trying to sneak an appointment as if this was some elite salon! How I wish I would have read yelp before I went to this horrible place. This is supposedly a family business, shame on you for letting your father treat people like that and you support him. i loved helen's nails!!! i went there based on seeing everyone's yelp reviews and i was NOT disappointed. they were so nice, i made an appointment for 5 pm and they close at 6 and the woman stayed until about 6;15 after they closed to finish me up! and they're absolutely beautiful!!! it was decently priced and the place was clean and comfortable. I am very disappointed this morning. I had made an appointment for a basic manicure and pedicure over a month ago. The woman who took my information wrote me down for 11am today and took down my cell phone. She said she would call me when it got closer to the date to confirm my appointment. I never received any phone call to confirm. I arrived at 11:13am today and was rudely told that my appointment was already given away because I didn't show up at 11. He told me he could either do a manicure OR a pedicure but not both because he didn't have an opening and didn't want to rush his employees. When I walked in there, there were only 2 other customers there. No one was waiting to be seen, it's not like they were packed and super busy. I have been to Helen's before and enjoyed the service I received. The last time I was here, I was the first appointment of the day and they were late opening up the store so that I was waiting in the parking lot for someone to arrive. If I could give zero stars I would. Terrible service. Literally a day after getting no chip my nails started chipping. I'm paying you for a quality service so I expect that service to be done properly. I had never used Gelish polish before but I liked the color and thought I would give it a try. it is clearly very poor quality. I came back 3 days after first service to have the polish changed because the quality is terrible and the whole reason I use no chip is to protect my nails. They told me they would only fix the 3 nails that chipped off but when I told him that I wanted different polish he said I would have to pay for it and tried telling me my nails were weak not the polish. Why would I have more poor quality polish put back on my nails? I've been using no chip for at least 3 years and never had a problem with chipping. Until recently I did my own nails at home. It is not my nails, it is your cheap polish. If you want to sell poor quality polish, expect to have to redo them. This is what I get for going somewhere else when my salon was booked up.
