Well, when I called I was hoping to get in ASAP to get my hair fixed from a weird Karen hairstyle. This is the first time I've felt so reassured over the phone with a hair salon. I was scared to go to the location for 2 reasons: 1.) because it was in Walmart. And 2.) because I was avoiding people to even see my hair from the other salon. When I got a call back on availability Dona was able to get me in at 2pm and I asked her if she thinks she would be able to fix it before 3 because I had to go to work. (I didn't call sooner because I didn't get out of the other salon until 12:30ish and had my appointment there at 11 and it was 11:30 when she started on me.) At the end I got out of this salon in less than 30 minutes and had time to run home and show my S/O before heading to work. The end result from this salon is the picture. I never felt so taken care of there and it was easy to converse with her. So if you go here I recommend Dona Davis. She has 30+ years experience, friendly, and more affordable than I thought I was going to have to pay. Even the salon itself is really nice looking and the chairs are not bad to sit in at all! From now on I'm trusting her with my haircuts!

I have cut and styled my own hair for 20 years because I could never find a stylist who listened to…read moreme and cut my hair the way I wanted it, not the way SHE thought it should look. Due to back problems, I decided to give SmartStyles in Robinson, IL a try, on a whim. I got a stylist named COURTNEY, who was GREAT. She listened to me, asked lots of questions about how I wanted it as she went, was VERY attentive to my wishes and lots of fun to be around and talk to. She said that some older women (I'm 59 and totally gray, but that doesn't mean I wouldn't want a sorta funky hair style!) wouldn't let her touch their hair because she has green streaking and some piercings. Well, I say, if she isn't afraid to be herself, then I KNOW she will appreciate someone else trying to get what THEY want in a hair style. THREE CHEERS FOR COURTNEY AND SMARTSTYLE!!!

Owner neglected to mention that the product she uses, and gives instuction on, contains a tree nut oil! Most people think "argan" is just a plant - well, it is not, and caused great damage to my hair, on top of the "damage we (they) can fix!"!!! Has you believing they are so sweet and kind - until you speak an illness against HER product!!! Great for hair dying not the best for hair cuts. Especially something more like a punk haircut…read morelook. Everyone is nice from what I've seen, but there is a lot of gossiping in the salon. Will be continuing getting my hair dyed there, but that's all. Acrylic nails are also not done here but they do paint nails and do basic haircuts nicely.
