What an amazing little gem in the Deco area of San Antonio. I walked into a beautiful, colorful space that immediately provided me with a dose of Happiness. The tables are filled with jewelry, a good mix of vintage finds and new, modern pieces designed by local artists. I absolutely love that the owner uses her store front to Support and promote other local businesses. Then there are racks and racks of beautiful, vintage dresses, blouses and coats. It is curated and you can tell that a lot of thought has been put into finding and selecting each piece. I found three key pieces and was so happy with my finds! I love knowing I found a unique piece of vintage clothing, that Can't be found in any mainstream store. The service was great, no pressure, free to browse and then she offered suggestions and friendly conversation. Hello Tallulah is such a gem! The store is filled with colorful 50's, 60's and 70's vintage which is all in amazing condition. The prices are super fair and the owner Kristina is so nice and helpful! I struggle to find vintage clothing that is larger than a size S or M, but took a chance and drove from Austin down to San Antonio to take a look at Hello Tallulah. I had been following HT on Instagram for a while, so had an idea of what to expect - but the shop exceeded my hopes entirely. Kristina was as sweet as could be and had mimosas to share, and pointed out some different items that I should try. I ended up going home with a stunning 2 piece blue evening dress and lace jacket, and a floral romper that I love to bits. This is an older story but I never shared it! I belong to a woman's club in town that does an annual Fiesta Hat show. Some of these women are legends in hat making, or simply own some gorgeous chapeaus from their lifetime. Wanting to look my best attending my first one as a member, I went to the store to find something "royal". I explained to the owner my dilemma, and the dress I wanted to wear for the event. But, she pulled out this vintage flower hat from the 60s that neither went with my dress, nor my vision. But it was perfect. The owner has the great taste and design to suit garments and accessories to the person's body and style. I had to figure out a whole new attire, but I was sold on the gorgeous hat (even if it was way over what I wanted to spend, but thats me being frugal). I still played around in the store for an hour shopping for purses, dresses and accessories from a time when petticoats and dressing up where common. The selection she had was wide ranging in sizes and styles, but all very chic and bringing you to a time of glamour. When I arrived to the hat luncheon, the hostess took one look at my cap and asked if I was signing up for the hat show. Well I hadnt thought aglamor. But because Tallulah had picked such a gorgeous hat, I did. And I won the vintage category! I also found several excuses that week to wear the same hat. I love shopping with Kristina at Hello Tallulah! She has a knack for finding a wide variety of sizes, specializing in fun styles and bold prints from the 50s-70s. She's patient with me when I'm chatty as hell trying on pieces, and encourages me to just try things on even when I'm unsure if they'll fit me. She also carries a number of accessories such as vintage hats and bags as well as modern, kitschy earrings if you aren't ready quite yet to take the plunge on vintage clothing. I've been wanting to check out Hello Tallulah for some time since they first opened. The Vintage boutique is located in the heart of the Art Deco district on Fredericksburg Rd. When you walk in the door your greeted by the owner Kristina and her cute dog Tallulah which is named after the store. The boutique is truly magical. Kristina has a large selection of vintage clothing for multiple sizes including plus size. They even have a small section for men as well. You'll find unique shoes, pins, jewelry, earings and hats to go along with the clothing. Currently Tallulah isn't feeling very well. For $5 you can enter a raffle for a chance to win a gift basket to cover the cost for her medical bills. Kristina has truly made her boutique very unique and inviting. Some nice vignettes here and there in the store, but very underwhelming. Some of the shirts here were frayed or worn heavily. Some vintage that I have seen in other cities have a wider selection of quality vintage. Did not see much quality here. Not the greatest selection in other words. Wow! This little shop seems unassuming on the outside but as soon as you walk in it's like you stepped foot in a cutesy pink retro wonderland. I stopped by for the first time yesterday and was in awe of how beautifully curated the decor and selection was. Love how you can tell the owner puts a ton of love and care into this store down to the little details. The product is a one of a kind vintage shop with a sweet selection of moderately priced finds, and just coming here feels like an experience in and of itself. I'm a HUGE believer in supporting small local businesses especially those that are ran by women, and Hello Tallulah is one place I'd be happy to return to in the future and tell everyone about.
