The driver refused to use the ramp for the trolley, but called to ask for the 6 crates of food to be picked up from the bottom of the stairs. There are clear instructions on the account on how to access the nursery and in 4 years no driver has had any difficulty getting to us. When the driver was told to use the ramp, he said ok. A staff member went outside to guide him, but to our shock he had left. We had to run to a local shop to buy food for the nursery children that day. The order was marked as cancelled. We called the store, explained to the manager, who said the driver would return in 1-2 hours. He did return, only to do the same thing all over again - refused to use the ramp, moreover raised his voice and put the phone down on the nursery manager. The Asda Watford manager then called the nursery trying to explain that his driver is right in not delivering the food at the door - something that his colleagues did weekly over 4 years, without any issues. After some words were exchanged, the driver then came to the door, stacked the crates right by the door, rang the doorbell and left. The nursery door opens outdoor and by doing that he blocked the door that is also our fire exit. It took one staff member significant force to push the door open, pushing the crates out of the way and causing them to almost collapse. The store was called again, they claimed the manager had left, the same manager who had called us 10 minutes before. When I asked for their complaints procedure, I was told there is no need for me to do it as they would file a complaint on my behalf. The order remained marked as cancelled on the account, meaning that we could not ask for a refund for the 7 items that were not delivered, all frozen, so the entire frozen products crate was missing. We called the Asda helpline twice, explained, gave the list of missing products, but there was no resolution. We remained out of pocket. 3 complaints emails were written, again no reply and not even an acknowledgement that they were received. This is the poorest ever service that we have received and we are more appalled by the lack of action from the managers and the complaints department than by the terrible attitude of one rude driver.

Not even adequate. The store was madness. If you have hours to mince around to "come across" what you want then it might be suitable. Trying to find prepared fruit was like the holy grail. The crisps have all the cheap multi packs, but lack considerably the other type, with a very limited selection. I gave up trying to find a bottle of 500ml fizzy pop. The sandwiches looked like a pack of locusts had attacked them as there were hardly any left apart from the really naff ones that nobody really likes. As for ten queues to pay, well that was about enough to send me over the edge. Queued for ages to use the self service till, and let's face it, they never are self service as the darn things use any reason to halt your shopping to get store approval. Then you sand there and wait like a convicted criminal for sentencing until the staff deign it necessary to Come over and approve whatever crime it is that you have committed. Today's little outing consisted of the new season's temptations lining the entrance walkway, neatly, surprisingly as well. Mary Portas has certainly has scared the big wigs at HQ because every member of staff I spoke to today was helpful and polite. Saying that, it was very almost, eerily quiet whilst I was shopping. You now have to queue to get in the car park. But...it's worth it and they now have car park assistants who direct you to spaces (layout has changed in the car park and disabled bays are now near the main doors). Outside is the same except for the swanky new Giraffe restaurant we are lucky to have in Watford now... But that deserves its own review later! Inside. Customer services is in same place, bit small and under staffed for a super store perhaps. There's a new 'scan and shop' section which I still need to try but I see a lot if peeps are using it. Food to go area is fab. Think salad bar to help yourself, loads if sarnies to chose from and pre packed salad and sushi goodies. Also it's a good section to nip to if picnicking. Plus there's self serve tills for this section alone so it's super convenient. The new bakery. Wowsers. So middle class and rustic. I lurve. Wooden table a la farm house laden with baked goods and hearty loaves. Also a counter with lots of posh desserts (quite pricey) and cakes. It's quite hard to grasp this is now where all bread and cakes are though. But it's early days. The toilet is in this section. No sign though. Annoying. And only one in whole hench store which is disappointing. Harris and Hoole. Love the look. Great lattes. Will sample food am sure. Always busy and not keen on the buzzers they give you to wait for coffee. Bit ott. But there's a coffee cart directly outside store so I usually grab one there as less busy. Florence and Fred. Happy days. This section looks amazing. Trolleys are able to mooch the aisles and it really feels like a proper clothes store, better fixtures and layout/feel than Marks or Next. And stock is great, fab designs and cheap as chips. I always come away with something. Fitting rooms are spacious too. Rest of store super laid out. New pizza counter (still not a patch on Asda's counter pizzas though- listen up Mr Tesco!). Fruit and veg section is epic, so spacious and easier to navigate than before. Make up and health sections look great as does home wears. Proper department store vibes. Loving. Dangerous for my bank balance. Opticians and pharmacy both helpful and knowledgable. Tills are still bit queuey but lots of people are checking out the store so busier than usual I think. Defo worth a visit. You can spend a whole day in here which I guess is the point as it has a destination shopping feel now. They even do yoga and kids classes here. Massive thumbs up!!

Check out the website: it's quite useful, and lists all the shops. The usual necessities are there, including newly renovated Boots, M&S, Waterstones, and a relatively new Tesco Metro. Primark is currently building a new shop here and will finish early this summer, replacing a Beales that is now gone. The nice thing about this mall is that it's partly outside. Most hallways open directly to the outdoors rather than having closing doors. While this means its not quite a fully-heated refuge in winter, it makes it more an integrated part of the stroll through Ealing than a hermetically-sealed environment. The central courtyard is open to the sky which makes it nice when they have craft stalls or summer concerts there. Many of the shops face outwards from the building as well, or are in passages that lead out to the street. The bad thing about the open-air aspects of the mall is that people can still smoke in here. There's an Early Learning Centre (ELC) that makes great educational and interactive toys for kids. There also a Fat Face clothing store that appeals to my Canadian/comfortable/lumberjack side. The rear mall entrance does have glass doors, and these seem to get broken, cracked, or become non-functioning with disappointing frequency, and to be fixed with disappointingly slow speed. I feel that the choice of men's clothing on offer isn't great. And those who are used to hundreds of shops (a la Oxford Street) may find it limited.
