Upon Tim's advice he claimed we needed to place 2 offers above the list prices with escalation clause of 30k and give large escrow with no inspections for which we relied on him to be competent enough to know a good property. Instead, we came to view the property that the HVAC was broke, the fireplace didn't work and the house was filthy. We decided to not go to settlement and emailed and called him with NO return phone call! How does this vile cheat sleep at night? We are living in a hotel with our little dog, losing 22500 plus being between houses as our previous property had sold we expected to move into the house Tim told us we needed an exorbitant amount of escrow, he's unscrupulous and we are seeking legal assistance for the extremely high escrow he sent us an email to sign off and Tim was quite concerned about his reputation, as he should be!! There are a lot of Realtors out there and after Tim, more than 5 have told us they would never ever do what he did to us!

Aaaanyway we just closed on our house a few days back and I wanted to write a review for Jackie Berkstresser. She was wonderful! We were originally referred to Jackie by future coworkers and we were glad we listened! We were moving from the NYC area and didn't know the area and Jackie was so accommodating. She met us for early on the weekend for marathon house showing days (great considering we had to drive 3+ hours to make it there each way) and was she was always cheerful and knowledgeable. She not only showed houses, she showed us around the area and pointed out places for us and gave us some good info on restaurants and biking trails. Her style is very low/no pressure (which I appreciate) and she made it feel like she legitimately enjoyed showing us around (which I hope she did!)

Renting sight unseen is unrealistic for most people, yet this appears to be their standard business practice. Adding to the frustration, there is no guarantee the unit will still be available by the time your application is approved--it may already be rented to someone else. Not only that, submitting an application triggers a hard inquiry on your credit report, which can lower your credit score by a few points and potentially affect future rental or housing applications--especially when you haven't even been allowed to see the unit. This process places unnecessary financial and credit risk on applicants and reflects a poor and unfair business practice.
