There is a recycling center on the left where you can recycle paper, cardboard, plastic and batteries, which is convenient. I like this location because service is very friendly, like unusually friendly. Almost everyone who works there is very pleasant. There is a decent selection of glass-bottled beer, not the plastic beer you'll find at other discount chains. The last time I was there, they had Ben & Jerry's ice cream - multiple flavors! What a pleasant surprise! This location is also quieter and less crowded than the Papenburg location which is why I prefer it.

Going to multi is an EVENT. It's part of a larger shopping center that includes a dm, fast food…read moreoptions, a bakery (of course) and a pharmacy with an extensive La Roche Posay (and other brands) selection. multi itself is massive. You walk in and are immediately tempted with the seasonal chocolate. Beer, then wine, are on your right. The store progresses from there. Within the store, there is a full blown wine shop and a larger than normal Tchibo display. For its size, the center aisle is surprisingly narrow evidenced by when one person with a cart lingers, there is a backup of angry people who want to get through. The fresh vegetables are plentiful. They recently reorganized their dairy and specialty cheese section, but after careful searching, I managed to find the ricotta. As you head out, there is a cookware section, stationary and toys on your way out. Ice cream freezers are last, right before the cashier. They usually have more than one cashier open, and you have to look carefully because sometimes one is open but looks closed. The lines move pretty quickly and efficiently. The middle aisles with clothes and assorted stuff sometimes has good stuff but is usually thoroughly cleaned out and the leftovers are left. The service is all right, nothing beyond what you would expect and doesn't particularly stand out. Because it's Covid times, they do have two opportunities to sanitize your required cart before entering the store. One station is right next to where you pick up your cart and very easy to miss and also not refilled regularly. The other one is between the two automatic entrance doors and if you stop there, you will block most people from being able to enter the store with a mandatory cart. Unfortunately, that station usually actually has sanitizer solution, whereas the one outside usually does not.

They reformatted the entrance to add more switchbacks which gives the illusion of being able to offer more fresh fruits and vegetables, as well as candy. Maybe it does allow for more space. I didn't measure the linear meters. The wine section does a better job of presenting/displaying the wine than simply having it on the shelf. It's probably the same wine as before, but it looks more appealing now! There are also some new and upgraded fixtures in the cold section. The entire store is mostly clean and organized, like they are really putting in the effort to maintain it. As far as grocery stores in this country go, the staff is considerably quite friendly. I am pretty pumped that this is my Lidl.

When I went in summer 2021, they were being serious about COVID protocols. I went to another New Yorker the next day in a bigger city and there were no Covid protocols. So this was a choice from the location. There wasn't a good sale when I was there but, as mentioned, there was an extensive assortment.

It is quite clean and the shelves are well stocked. I don't really like how they handle the makeup items on sale, however. They toss everything into a bin and some of the palettes were like the tester or something so they're gross and they make everything else in the bin gross. And your hands get gross if you choose to rifle through the bin. Maybe there was something in there that I might want to actually buy but we will never know because everything in there is contaminated. Sometimes stuff is labeled "Aktion" but it's unclear with the old or current price is. They could really label it better. If it's on sale but I don't know how much it is, I'm afraid I won't be much interested. But Rossmann is a dependable brand and consistent.

Or maybe it's just me but I found Lay's Sour Cream & Onion and Salt & Vinegar chips here but not at my regular, older, less nice Netto. Like other Nettos, they have a pump hand sanitizer available at the entrance that no one but myself uses. And you have to bring a cart inside (because it's Covid times). The service is nothing special, nothing beyond what you'd expect. They don't ask every customer if they have the DeutschlandCard so don't forget to show it when you check out.
