On the positive side, the space is stunning and the food was excellent - both were highlights for us. However, our experience on the planning side raised several concerns. Communication and expectations were unclear from the outset. We initially believed we would be working with one team member, but later learned that a different person would be managing our wedding, which was not clearly communicated and created confusion early on. Throughout the process, we found the planner's approach to be rigid and not particularly collaborative. We were open to guidance, but often felt that our preferences were dismissed in favor of doing things a specific way. During our tasting, for example, some of our menu selections (chosen directly from the venue's own offerings) were criticized as not being "classy" or "elegant," which felt inappropriate and unnecessarily condescending. There were also multiple instances that felt unprofessional, including meetings starting late and recurring interruptions during scheduled time together. We also encountered a significant issue regarding payment transparency for a vendor booked through the venue. A deposit we paid was invoiced as a payment toward the band, but was not fully applied as such, and this was not disclosed at the time of payment. The matter was only resolved after escalation. While it is clear that the team is capable of executing events, our experience did not reflect the level of professionalism, transparency, or care that is essential when planning a wedding. A wedding is not just another event, and the planning process requires a level of respect, communication, and client focus that we did not consistently experience here. Due to these concerns, we ultimately chose to move forward with a different venue, as we did not feel confident continuing with the planning process. Based on our experience, we would not recommend this venue for weddings. Couples should proceed with caution and ensure they have a clear, documented understanding of vendor payments, responsibilities, and expectations before committing!

Food options were weird as hell imo, Tofu General Tao or Rhubarb Apple Chicken. I reluctantly and skeptically chose the Rhubarb Apple Chicken, (cuz I generally avoid the vegetarian option like a disease), but the execution was actually delicious! I was terrified it would be like some nasty swanson microwave meal but it was actually very pleasing to the tastebuds! The chicken was tender and not overcooked, the rhubarb apple sauce was more like a gravy than an applesauce (like I was dreading) and the monte carlo potato it came with was very good and not dry. The mushroom bouchée was delicious, perfect texture and flavour. The salad tasty, but much like a fancy coleslaw. The bread fresh, moist and soft, not tough or chewy. I didn't try the dessert but it looked good, maybe some kinda chocolate cake/brownie. Portions were decent for the price and quality (not too little not too much). The one thing I didn't like was that my colleague who set it up felt the need to stay by the serving table all night to explain the dishes and what main went with what side. I didn't ask her why she did that because I needed her help to know which dishes I was supposed to take, so I'm assuming the others did too. It would have been better if they had some sort of system with labels +/or custom containers, maybe, so that it would be more self explanatory or even a catering staff that actually does that part? Maybe that's an option at a higher price? I duno, I feel like my colleague didn't get to just relax and enjoy our Christmas Party and that made me sad. Only reason for 4 stars. I would surprisingly be willing to order catering from Zeste again. For how much I was seriously dreading it and already fathoming a negative review in my mind before trying it, that should really be telling you a lot. I was incredibly impressed-- I could not have asked for a more professional, organized, efficient and detail oriented team. Jocelyn, the head manager, met with me to see the location and figure out how to arrange tables and chairs, both for the food prep, catering as well as guest seating. He and his crew arrived early the day of the reception to set everything up. Their work was impeccable. The food was delicious, the presentation was beautiful, the servers were amiable from start to finish. They even helped clean up at the end of the night, packing leftovers and covering them with plastic wrap that they had brought just in case. I received innumerable compliments from my guests on everything from the tasty hors d'oeuvres to the serving staff's cheerful disposition. I would absolutely recommend this catering company to anyone, my experience with them was fantastic. They were just phenomenal!!!
