    Walls and walls of cheese

We were told that we can take these cheeses to go, and that it would stay out of the refrigerator safely for 4 weeks. There were so many samples and each one was better than the next. They had nuts and wine as well. Fabulous gift idea! We purchased beautiful Dutch cheese knives, wine & round gift cheeses. There were wine nuts, mustards & spreads. We were told that we can order on line they ship in 4 days to New Jersey warehouse.

This is such a charming and unique spot, currently celebrating its 50th anniversary. The business has been run by three generations of the same family. When we arrived, we watched a fascinating demonstration of how their cheese is made. Inside, there were at least 20 different types of cheese to sample, each offering unique and delicious flavors. The prices are a bit steep, with a single block of cheese costing around $20-$25, but the quality makes it worthwhile. Overall, it's a delightful place with excellent service, rich history, and amazing cheese that's definitely worth trying.

We had an amazing trip out to the country in Amsterdam to visit this cheese shop... amazing to learn the process of making such delicious cheese we were able to sample at least 20 different types our favor where the smoked Gouda's and the pesto and truffle. We also tried a lavender cheese which was delicious. The shipping was so easy €15 to ship it back to the states so we really took advantage of this.... The mustard's and the jams are delicious as well.

Yep, a bag full of cheese!

You're going to see this exact same review 3x for all 3 shops as all 3 were equal in all areas. How much did we like it? Well enough to spend an additional 15min having our cheese swabbed in airport security. Yes, I took back an entire tote bag filled with a variety of cheeses (13 kinds) & yes, I took it as carry-on luggage. Yes, you CAN do that, though you may want to allow extra time for additional screening, as a bag full of cheese looks suspicious on the scanner. (Let them know ahead of time, so they flag it as odd contents and things go more smoothly) Tasting cheeses are readily available and you can taste literally EVERYTHING before you buy. Why then, with a bag filled with cheese do I give them 4 stars? Because it truly caters to tourists which resulted in higher pricing. Still, you buy KNOWING it can all fly back with you.

We visited Amsterdam in January and of course some of the Henri Willig Cheese Stores. Great diversity of cheese and gifts. The staff was very friendly also. Accidently I discovered the online shop and couldn't wait to order! Very easy and fast to order and friendly customer service. I love the Garlic, Herbs & Garlic and Red Pesto Cheese ! The Cheese is worth the price and I am definitely going to order again !

I find this place smaller than the other Henri Willig locations but it still provides the same cheese selections but maybe in less variety. Though there are still handful of samples to try and the staff are still helpful. This location seems more of an atmosphere for a cheese shop, many of the other retailers seem more trendy. But then again, it's Henri Willig cheese; there are many locations and this location has a little less pizzazz to it, so that's why I am keeping my description short. The Storefront photo by Pedro L. is wrong, it's of a different Henri Willig Cheese & More. The shop at the Singel 518 address is on the flowers market and the Storefront has a green and yellow sign.

Cheese shop in the Central Station. After sampling some cheese, I bought the lavender gouda. According to the sore attendant, you can bring cheese on the airplane back to the U.S. as long as it's vacuum sealed and made from pasteurized milk -- which is the case for nearly all the cheese in the shop.

Located in a…read morehistoric canal house along the Singel, it's a nice alternative to the typical fast-paced cheese shops in Centrum. The guided tasting takes place downstairs in a small, classroom-style setting. You're given a score sheet, a small guillotine slicer, and a lineup of six cheeses--ranging from younger Wyngaard varieties to their heavily aged Reypenaer VSOP and XO Reserve (which has those nice, crunchy protein crystals). Each sample is paired with a wine or port and a bit of specialty mustard. The staff is knowledgeable and keeps things moving at a good pace, explaining how the natural aging process in their historic Woerden warehouse shapes the flavor. The shop upstairs carries all the cheeses from the tasting, along with slicers and accessories if you want to pick something up on your way out. It's an informative, well-organized hour that gives you a genuine appreciation for artisan Dutch cheese.

In the front part of the store is a take-out counter where they sell hot items, like sandwiches and baked pastries and desserts, like cheesecakes and cookies the size of your face! It all looked appealing and would've totally purchased a food item, had we not had lunch beforehand. Throughout the store were the cheese samples of the many different various kinds. It goes beyond what you thought gouda could be. There are sheep's and goat's cheeses for many of the different types. There are pesto cheeses that come in different colors like a bright blue and pink. There are cheeses that pair well with the dips that had me thinking about my next dinner party. There's Dutch chocolate here for sale. There's different knives for cutting cheese. There's truly everything here you could imagine for your gouda-filled meal. Staff was super friendly and asked if we needed any help or wanted to know more about any of the different cheeses. For sale, a lot of the goudas are pre-packaged for a pound and meets airline security measures for taking it home with you. I'm glad we stumbled upon Dutch Delicacy. We were able to try so many different cheeses, which I found a few for home. I recommend for anyone visiting Amsterdam to make a stop here; there's a lot of items you'll want to take home with you.

But then they broke out the "wine pearls" (basically popping boba filled with wine) to put on top of the cheese curls.
