Small town bakeshops sometimes get plus points for their quaintness, coziness, and aw-shucks atmosphere. Henrietta doesn't need these plus points because OMG are their pastries heavenly. We got stuff they are known for, and even with the heightened expectations, still came away completely in love. - Sticky Buns: May just be the best one I've had. It's really soft and moist, not sickeningly sweet, and a great value for its size and amazing taste. A definite winner. - Muskoka Cloud: I get why this is named a cloud. It's airy yet meaningful, almost like a soft and tender scone. And again, sweetness level is to perfection. - Nanaimo Bar: A bit too creamy for me, but I loved how strong the coconut taste was. Be prepared to line up and wait when you pass by Henrietta. The good thing? The lines are made up not just by tourists, but locals who stop by and wait to get their treats. Small town charm? Sure. This place has been open for longer than I've been alive, and it's easy to see from the quality of their baked goods why it has stood the rest of time. The lineup from locals and tourists alike also speaks volumes. They only allow 2 separate paying customers outside of the same party to be in the shop at a time. They had two staff taking orders, which helped the line move quickly. I purchased their signature sticky buns and Muskoka clouds (tender fruity scones), as well as a couple of butter tarts. The sticky buns were still warm and soft with a lovely caramelized and sticky exterior that wasn't overly sweet. The Muskoka clouds were also delicious, with a tartness from the berries that helped to balance out some of the sugar dusted on the tops of the scones. Highly recommend stopping here if you're in the area. They also have another location in Huntsville which accommodates more people in the shop at a time. read more

Lovely little find in Dwight, near Huntsville! This place currently has a limit of two customers at a time, so there's a bit of a lineup and people are more likely to buy lots at once. Come with a shopping bag and stock up! Sticky buns are only $1.50 and they're super moist and sweet. Lovely sandwiches that they'll toast for you, and sweet butter tarts that are the perfect snack size. Staff are wearing masks and there are Plexiglass barriers for safety. If your ever lucky enough to find yourself heading towards Algonquin park, I highly recommend stopping at this place. Everything was amazing. I had a Turkey Brie and cranberry sandwich that was smacking. The pastries are just as good. I've had croissants, danishes, carrot cake, sticky buns, some kind of Portuguese pastry, eclairs, this list can go on for a while. Come early because the croissants go quick. read more

Lovely little spot up here. Everything appears fresh and homemade. Attached is a picture of the best butter tart I have yet to try (without pecans, which remain my davoueite). Perfectly balance between chew and a little crunch; not overly sweet either! Coffee not included but take these to go and enjoy later in the day! How can you not love this place. I have memories going back to when I was little and we'd always stop here on our way to go camping at Algonquin. I stopped by this week also in my way to Algonquin and it didn't disappoint! I had the stickiest sticky bun :) and we got delicious cheese bread and a Brownie. Friendly staff and a casual no fuss vibe. Lots to choose from, hard to pick just one treat. But if you do pick more than one you won't break the bank- the prices are super reasonable!!! read more

Awesome bakery in Dwight! Their breads are amazing. Their German raisin bread on Sunday is incredible, melt in your mouth morning treat. Their Algonquin bread is just amazing. I had a colleague in town and he couldn't get over how good it was. Outside of their breads, the sticky buns are great, cherry danishes too! I'm sure there will be lots to tempt you. This is a phenomenal little bake shop in Dwight that is a bee hive of activity; especially on long weekends and holidays. Their chocolate croissants and apple strudel are much better than my will power but it is there strawberry-rhubarb coffee cake that knocks everything else out. I am generally not a fan of baked goods but this is an exception and an exceptional treat. If you're looking for a place to stop and fill your sweet tooth craving, this is it. I visit Henrietta's every trip to the cottage to retrieve freshly made bread, danishes and their famous sticky buns. The trick is to go when they open to have the greatest selection and to avoid the long line that forms mid morning. They have a variety of different breads to choose from our family's favorites include: Algonquin, sourdough and marble rye. Each is flavourful, moist and they'll slice them for you if you ask. The sticky buns are gooey cinnamon deliciousness. The staff makes sure to scrape on extra syrup from the tray onto the buns before packaging them up for you, making it hard to leave without some, even if you didn't intend to. I'm personally a big fan of danish. Henrietta's are the perfect balance of flaky pastry to fruit filling. The cherry cheese danish is a little too rich and sweet for me, but I'd strongly recommend the apple or raspberry. The tartness of the filling with the drizzled icing is perfect. read more

One of Muskoka hidden gems- this bakery is always lined up and has some incredible items. Everytime my wife and I stop in and she tries something new it's always the best she's ever had. It was everything we were looking for...quaint, great seating area, awesome pastries and really good coffee! I called this bakery from Toronto to see if they might deliver some sweets to the Huntsville Hospital as my uncle was in the ICU and my family was at his side. The young man I spoke to took the order and asked if I might call back the following day to process the payment as his fiancé (Jess) was the one who could do it. He said he would have the delivery out within the hour. I called back the following day to pay and was very touched to hear that there would be no charge for my order and that they were sending their well wishes to my family. I am so touched and grateful to have been treated with so much kindness and support. These guys went above and beyond to bring a little sunshine to a very gloomy situation. read more
