What a Mother's Day disappointment. I brought my mother and in-laws from LA to this place because I've always spoken highly of it, only to be met with rude and disrespectful treatment. My mother walked in ahead of us to get a table while I was getting my infants out of the car. They were seated, and moments later a short white-haired lady approached them and told them they had to leave because "everyone wasn't there." The crazy part is that we were literally walking in right behind her as this was happening. I've supported this place for over 35 years, and it's sad how one employee's behavior can completely ruin that loyalty. The interaction came off as ignorant, disrespectful, and discriminatory, especially on a day meant to celebrate family and mothers. This used to be one of my go-to spots in Oxnard, but after today, I won't be returning. read more

Was waiting to get my car done and they recommended this place. Great service they keep your coffee refilled! My son loved his steak and eggs snd biscuits. They have a bunch of great specials and they let you substitute the bacon for turkey bacon at no extra charge! My Belgian waffles were great. The eggs come from happy local farm raised chickens and you can taste the difference! Generous portions! We will be back to try something new. read more

I have been going to Henri's cafe for years,and then i quite going due to the prise increase, but in 2026 i went back . so i called my order in 2 country fried steak breakfasts. and i was told it would be ready in 10 minutes i was confused on how he was going to cook all that food in that short of time. i live no more then 2 minutes away when i walked in the waitress was waiting for me with my food when i got home everything was look warm nothing was cooked fresh the toast was soggy the steak was cold when i called the cook said he just made everthing fresh when i called him on he said (I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO SAY) he did"t know why the food was cold. very poor service and dishonest there taking bad habbits from Dennys NOT THE SAME HONEST HARD WORKING PEOPLE MAYBE IT IS TIME FOR THEM TO RETIRE. read more

This is one of the most consistent things in my life--Henri's. I frequent this place on the weekends, and even at their busiest, they do a great job serving, making sure your coffee cup is filled, and are so friendly. I always get a big smile and hug from my favorite server. I get the pancakes eggs and bacon and I haven't found a place that has as fluffy and flavorful pancakes. Nice portion and good syrup too. Came in here to visit and try this small mom and pop restaurant for the first time. I wasn't impressed. Staff was rude the moment we walked in. We were told to wait despite there being various tables open. But we patiently waited. When we got sat down, we got told our drinks would be taken soon. Our waiter never showed up after 15 minutes I decided to get up and ask if we could get our order taken. I was told to please sit and wait. I returned to my seat and my kids and I continued to wait. When the waitress came she was upset to be taking our order, took our order and our drinks didn't arrive until our food arrived 15 minutes later. Over all to sit and wait for our food was about 40 minutes total. When she was putting the drinks down, one of them tilted and spilled on my daughter. The waitress did the biggest sigh and left to go get a rag. I grabbed as many napkins as I could to clean up the table to make it less difficult for the waitress but when she came she said we needed to be careful as I we spilled the drink on purpose. My kids were hungry so we ate but I will never be returning to this place again. read more

Awaiting car repairs...I decided to dine at a local mom and pops cafe down the street. Henri's Cafe was the name of the local diner. My daughter and I wasn't escorted to the table. The lady greeted us near the entry door and told us just take a seat wherever. We sat in a booth and I notice the place wasn't the cleanest. I ordered a 6 piece chicken wings as appetizer and grilled salmon salad as the entree. My daughter had cheese quesadillas along with French fries. The service sucked and could be a lot better. The taste of the food was not enough to patronize this business again. This place needs strong leadership and a little love and care and could actually have the potential of being a great diner due to its location. read more

First time coming and can't say the food was superb, but can't say they were bad either for a cafe. At a busy intersection, getting to the lot itself will take some patience as the lights take a while. There is a small parking lot on site. Upon arriving, we were told to sit anywhere along this side of the wall. Once seated, we were asked for drinks and they came promptly. We ordered their specialty dishes - meatloaf with clam chowder (added) and the wife did country fried steak. Appearances, the food is decent looking. The winning visual I thought were the plates. There is just something about eating on nice heavy plates at a diner that is appealing to the experience. For the meatloaf, I quite enjoyed it. Strong meaty flavor with diced celery and carrot pieces inside. The carrots and celery could have been diced more finely for better visuals, but it was fine as is. The mashed potato and steamed veggies were average. Not much taste to the veggies and the potatoes were on the dense side of things. The gravy was a bit salty, but it wasn't too bad as the potato and veggies were on the blander side. For the country fried steak, I'm told it was okay. The batter is a bit different and the chicken inside reminded her of chicken patty instead of a chicken steak. For the clam chowder, it wasn't bad. Had decent quantity of ingredients and a nice creamy texture and taste to it. The garlic bread that came were spicy. I'm not sure if that is intended, but we think cayenne was sprinkled on top instead of garlic powder. All in all. The food is pretty average. Even though I liked the meatloaf, everything else was mediocre at best. It is what a diner gives for quality and quantity, but they aren't terrible at least. Nice to have once in a while to change the pace/taste buds perhaps. Worth a try to formulate your own opinions. read more

The whole experience here was amazing. I had the spicy Hawaiian sandwich with onion rings and ranch and my GOSH it was good. It was so fruity with the pineapple and peppers and the perfect level of spice for me (hot, but i wasn't sweating).I was comfortable, the portions were filling, and the quality was high. On top of how good the meal was, my server - Alejandrina, was so friendly and warm, and surpassed all of my expectations with how much she clearly wanted to make my dining experience too notch. As I sit here , I've waited 20 mins to get a refill on coffee, waitress hasn't came once to check on us , we had to get the buss boy to refill the coffee and get a water , , no acknowledgement it's the worst at a restaurant .. I was on my way to work and wanted to get some breakfast. I usually drive by this Cafe at five points in Oxnard and thought I should give it a try. Henri's has been here for quite sometime. Walking in, I was greeted by the waitresses and they told me to sit where ever I liked. I sat at the counter. The chef was really cool and accommodating. I could tell he was busy and was on point with a his orders. He sure knew what he was doing. I ordered the 12oz New York Steak and eggs. It was delicious. I also had grits and some toast along with with it. Long story short, I was satisfied and would definitely love to come back again soon! read more

I've been meaning to try this place out for some time. It's prominently located at a major intersection, so you'll probably notice it if you drive around Oxnard. I thought the breakfasts here were pretty nice. I had one of the special combos that includes french toast, 2 eggs and 2 slices of bacon or sausage, all for $8.99.
