This place is great - far better than the Yelp reviews it's been getting. Their bagels (same as you get at their great sister restaurant, Lil's) are definitely different: light and airy but with a nice crust. If you prefer heavy, doughy bagels that, in a pinch, can do double duty as a boat anchor, these are not for you. My sandwich, the Maine-Talion, was delicious. Plenty of meat with good additions. Would have benefited from a bit of mayonnaise - will ask for it next time. The interior is bright, clean, nicely decorated and cheery. Chilled water available. Dispensed from a self-serve machine so it doesn't run out as often happens at Lil's. But watch out! It's tricky to stop the flow.

    Italian

The bagel was good, but the veggie cream cheese tasted more like plain cream cheese. We also ordered an Italian. It's rather expensive, but when it was handed to me, it was really big. Unfortunately, it was mostly bread and a rather odd bread to serve as an Italian. I requested mayo and was told there's a dressing on the Italian. I requested the mayo on the side. I tried the Italian without mayo and could not taste any dressing. The bread definitely overwhelms the rest of the ingredients. I added the mayo, which made it a little better. It's not something I would buy, again, but it was good. The staff were nice.

A little bit pricey but worth it! The Maine Maple sandwich was so delicious like a fancy McGriddle. The bagels are crunchy on the outside and chewy on the inside, not all dense and bready like other bagel places. My friend ordered the veggie breakfast sandwich, and it looked great with a generous amount of avocado. Our cold brews were fantastic as well. I will definitely go back.

Avocado BLT (this was $16 upcharged for turkey but they didn't put turkey on it)

I had high hopes for this place since I love Lil's, but maybe today was just an off day. We got two sandwiches to bring to the beach: Italian and turkey avocado BLT. The turkey was $2 extra, when I opened the sandwich I found the bread was very dark and overcooked and there was no turkey. It was also mostly lettuce and bread. The Italian was good. Our friends got the chicken salad bagel sandwich and was surprised to find no lettuce or tomato on it.

Stopped by for grand opening to buy a dozen bagels to bring north for the weekend. The place was mobbed which is awesome. Looked like a full sandwich menu. No prices or for bagels by the dozen. I went order and was told the limit was 8 for the day, no worries. Service was fast. I got assorted bagels and a plain and veggie cream cheese which came to just shy of $60 ...... a bit pricey. Bagels are huge and felt very light. I toasted one up today. Bagels are huge was airy and light no real traditional bagel crust on exterior. Inside it was very light and full of holes. It was very good but not like a traditional NY bagel, more of a sandwich type bagel. I will be back to try the pastrami sandwich for sure.

Really, I would give a 3.5…read more I only recommend a bagel and cream cheese! And their lox(with capers!). My recent visit here, I was very satisfied with the amount of cream cheese they used - some places give WAYY too much, or barely any, you never know. This was a good middle for your preferences to keep or shed excess. Their other breakfast sandwiches are odd. In the past, I ordered one with what I believe was supposed to be steak, and instead a very odd sausage patty that was extremely questionable. They have very good coffee, and I'm not a huge coffee drinker.

Bagel Caboose is one of the worst bagel / coffee shops in the entire country. This wasn't a "bad…read moreday" but an absolute lack of care. We ordered 4 bagels with various spreads to go. One had Nutella and somehow the bagel was covered on all sides. One had a maple walnut spread that saturated the entire wrap, and then dripped all over my shirt and pants. My wife ordered a bagel with butter (see photo). And the other one we just threw away. Staff was indifferent. Seemed disconnected. Under normal circumstances, I'd let it go and chalk it up to "they weren't at their best." But this was so bad that it doesn't happen by accident. Either they're grossly incompetent or they're trying to be bad. Only go if you're starving, have gloves, a poncho, the ability to shower ... and yeah, only if you're starving. Absolutely terrible.

We stopped by after having to go someplace early as we did not have time for breakfast at home before we left. The location has changed a lot over the years. You still make your own coffee. Great coffee and I'm not much of a coffee drinker. They make specialty drinks themselves. More options of food. The sandwiches are really good and very filling. There's a place to sit at tables. Very friendly staff. We can't believe we've missed out all these years. We will be going more often.

Small non assuming cafe in the heart of York. They have a take- out window in the warm season…read more Today I ordered 3 breakfast sandwiches. They were substantially filled with cheese eggs and bacon and or sausage. I ordered chorizo on my sausage bagel sandwich. Everything is made to order. My sons said they really liked their sandwiches which were bacon egg and cheese on English. Most of the sandwiches are on the menu with homemade biscuit but we ordered with English muffin. They have ugly sticks and the first time we saw that was many years ago after moving to York. The sticks are made from buttermilk batter and come in differing sugary coatings. People love those and they sell out fast. St Joes is known for its benes. The little beignet dough balls. We have never had them, but customers were coming in and ordering a dozen at a time, so I feel like these are very popular here. They also have a great selection of coffees and lattes. Their prices are on par and reasonable. The staff were personable and friendly. There is a small area to sit inside although that fills up pretty quickly on a weekend. There is online ordering although, one of the staff told me they shut it down when they are really busy. Young people, old people (like me) all seemed to enjoy coming in here. I think St Joes has a large following and for good reason. I'll come again with my 13 yr old twins and try some of those benes soon. I'll let you know, but I am sure anything prepared in this place will be good. I would show a photo of our food but we ate it too fast!
