I came in to get a new pair of pleated pants hemmed. Not only is the stitching visible and crooked, they decided to iron the pleats out at the hem, despite the tag and care instructions both clearly reading DO NOT IRON. The pleats are now irreversibly flattened. I've never been motivated to leave a bad review in my life. But I really can't recommend this careless service to anyone. read more

I came in pretty early in the morning to get a dress hemmed. I came in early because I was hoping to get it back by the end of the day. This is not the Henry's that I've known and loved. Apparently there was a change of ownership in the past year or so and it is very evident. I took several skirts to simply have the side slit sewn up and they charge twice as much as I have been charged in the past. Then, due to time constraints and against my better judgement, I took the dress I am to wear to my daughters wedding to have it hemmed about an inch. Once again they charged a lot more than in the past and when I got the dress home, it not only was the dress dirty (like it had been dragged across a filthy floor), but there was a snag in the dress that is easily noticeable. Lesson learned, never again. They also make you pay for the alterations BEFORE the work is done so you have no recourse if you are not satisfied or there is an issue. DO NOT use them if you are expecting the amazing work of the previous owner. read more

Excellent service! I wanted a pair of jeans tightened in the waist because it fit perfectly everywhere else and I hate wearing belts. I had taken my other jeans and pants to another place before and I don't know what they did but the midline on the pants was off so I didn't want to go there again. My husband and I both had items we needed altered and Henry did an amazing job on both. He's super quick, friendly and very reasonably-priced. I took in an evening gown that was tiered and he shortened it in a way that I can make it longer again if I want without telling. Henry has been altering my family's clothes for years. He is polite, skilled and thorough. He will hem a pair of jeans in an hour if you really need them. His prices are really, really reasonable, especially as compared to some of the shops that get the "bride" trade. He has tackled some tricky assignments, like taking up sleeves and he even repaired a bathing suit top for my daughter.
