I had one of the worst experiences I've ever had at a nail salon here. The technician cut my nails much shorter than I wanted. As soon as I realized they were too short, I told her, but she continued. Once she finished filing, I again explained that they were much shorter than I had asked for and asked if there was any way to make them longer. She told me they could, but it would cost extra, and I agreed to pay the additional charge. She then started filing my nails again, so I assumed she was removing them to apply longer ones. Instead, she began painting them. I stopped her because I thought we had already agreed to redo them. At that point, another employee came over and was incredibly rude. He blamed me for the situation, insisted I had never said the nails were too short, and repeatedly denied what had happened while the technician shook her head and contradicted everything I was saying. What upset me the most wasn't just the mistake it was how I was treated afterward. They laughed at me, dismissed my concerns, and told me there was nothing they were going to do unless I paid an additional $20 to completely redo the nails, even though the problem was caused by the salon. Instead of trying to make things right, they acted as if it was entirely my fault. When I said I would leave a review, the employee responded, "I don't care, do it." Everyone makes mistakes, and I understand that. What I don't understand is treating a customer with disrespect, laughing in their face, refusing to take responsibility, and making them feel like their concerns don't matter. Customer service goes a long way, and unfortunately this salon showed none of it. I will never return, and I would not recommend this salon to anyone looking for quality service or respectful treatment. read more

I've heard great things about Hera so I gave it a try, but it wasn't good. I got a gel mani which was great (I thought), he did it just like I asked for. Didn't over cut my cuticles and was relatively quick. Unfortunately under a week later it's already chipping and peeling and looks SO sloppy. This never happens when I get manicures at my usual salon, especially well before the 2 week mark. I expect a properly done gel manicure to last 2 weeks. 6 days is just not acceptable for that service and now it looks awful. My sister came with me and also got a gel mani with another service provider and hers is actually now worse than mine. It's completely peeled off about 50% of the nails and needs to be removed or re-done. I unfortunately won't be back and I know my sister won't either. Disappointing. read more

Go here at your own risk! I have never experienced seeing someone be so disrespectful to a client before. As someone who works in the beauty industry I genuinely was appalled. When I have a client in my chair I love to make them feel seen and welcomed. And I witness my friend experience the complete opposite. She had explained numerous times that the length was too short. When we expressed how she felt they were so disrespectful. They LAUGHED in her face when she was explaining how she felt. They have TERRIBLE customer service. If you want to be disrespected feel unwelcome and leave with nails u aren't happy with by all means go here. read more

Amazing service and spotless nail stations. I'm almost always 100% satisfied with my nails after countless visits. On the one occasion when I had polish lift, it was quickly fixed with no questions asked. The wait times are accurate which I LOVE. If they say it's a 15 minute wait, it truly is. I've been going to Hera for a few years now and have never had anything but stellar service. As a licensed nail tech myself, I've been to many salons and I have walked right out of some before I even let them start. Not at Hera - it's nice to have found a place I can keep going back to without worry. I brought my husband and two people who work for us here today for Manicures and Pedicures. We chose the Smart spa pedicure. The chairs are wonderful- far better than a lot I've experienced. The staff are very polite and friendly. Included in the smart package is a foot and back massage. I chose 20 minutes for the foot and leg massage and 10 for the shoulder massage. I didn't realize the put you in a face forward chair for that massage. Next time I will do 10 minutes of foot and leg massage and 20 minutes of back. I really enjoyed my mani pedi and massages today. I was looking for a place for my birthday- last minute - same day apt and I found this place. They were very kind on the phone gave me all the details I needed and told me come right on in. I got there I was greeted very nicely. I wanted a pedicure and manicure, regular no gel. This place is gorgeous, the look and feel of it I enjoyed so much and the chairs you sit in for the pedicure made me feel like a queen. The service was amazing everything was amazing. My pedicure was bomb, I got the 60.00 package instead of the regular pedicure and I enjoyed it. The paint job was great, I did bang one of the toes and messed it up but my lovely lady assured me it was okay and she took care of it immediately. My nails came out cute too. I love this place so much and it's not far for me to get too. It's pretty popular in here, I saw a lot of people going in and out, men and woman. I love that. I really enjoyed it. I'm going back in a few weeks before my vacation. I can't wait! Amazing service, amazing vibes and so cute. And my toes are still not chipped and it's been almost a month. read more

I'm sorry to say this... but legitimately one of the worst manicures I've ever gotten in my life. My god, it's somehow both lumpy and overly shiny AND textured because you can see the score marks from the electric file. A woman who seemed like the owner tried to clean up the mess when she saw how badly my French acrylic had come out, but there was no saving that. I still tipped of course, but for a final price tag of $160, me having to go home and remove this somehow is really frickin annoying. read more

I have been coming here to get my eyebrow waxed for the past year since it was conveniently located next to Trader Joe's. However, I was disappointed in the service I received yesterday. The manager usually does my brows but this time another lady did mine. She ended up waxing and cutting a part of my eyebrow off. After I let her know this, she offered to fix the situation by suggesting to do the same on the other brow! Such a horrifying idea considering I have naturally thicker brows. I let her know I didn't want her touching my brows anymore because the only solution is to wait for them to grow. I spoke with the manager (who usually does my brows) and she said I didn't need to pay for this botched waxing. Although the customer service from the manager was helpful, I am still disappointed in the services I received from the lady who did my brows. read more

It almost pains me to write how awful my experience was here because it WAS my favorite place. I work in health care, currently working 7 days a week so my hands and nails have taken a beating from washing, gowning, gloving, and sanitizer usage. I finally had a few hours to myself so decided to get a full set- french Manicure cut super short until I can go back to my natural nails that were just polish, and a brow wax. It's $80 for just the nails. . Ok Wasn't busy at all. Initially they sat me 4 inches from a total stranger (so much for social distance), before they realized we were both uncomfortable. The nail tech was super aggressive with the motor file to the point I thought she was going to go right through my nail bed. The Gel/acrylic I've never used before burnt my fingers so bad under the curing light; l kept asking the Tech why it was so bad and I had to keep pulling my fingers out to tolerate it... she wouldn't respond! At one point I smudged my nail a little bit that she became clearly irate. I kept asking her to cut my nails shorter (explaining my job requires short nails) she kept getting annoyed to the point where she just stopped listening to me. It was always customary that your hands were dipped in warm Parrafin and wrapped in a warm towel...I totally understand why they're not performing that service.... Instead my hand was put into a plastic bag full of cold lotion for about a minute before she wiped off (acting very annoyed). Part of the service was always a 3 minute shoulder massage, this woman clearly did not want to touch me because my toddler has given better backrubs. When she was finished I just paid for the nails, said screw the brow wax. I ended up googling the brand to see if she was maybe using car repair gel (Brissa Sculpting Gel) only to find thats what happens when the natural nail is overly filed and the gel applied too thick.... I ended up going to Sally's to buy acrylic nail clippers, a file and tweezers and took care of it myself. I get business are struggling because of regulations and shut downs, but if I'm paying $80 PLUS tip, they should at least try to make it enjoyable so people continue to support them. read more

Went here the other day with my sister for a fill and full set. Once we got their vibe was weird and they were super judgy hovering over my little sister and I while getting our nails done . I am new to Rhode Island and was trying to find a new salon to get my nails done, I came across Hera Nails through a google search and they seemed to have really great reviews. Everyone here was very nice and the salon itself is clean and has a lot of positives, but unfortunately I may need to try another salon for a dip. I have gotten dip manicures for the past few years now, and the first time I came here I got a dip. The first few days it looked great, by the fifth day, the dip on my thumb was already starting to crack. I figured it might have been a fluke or an issue with my nail underneath the dip. I went back to Hera to get another dip, this time it's only been on a week and four of dipped nails are cracking and peeling. The dip should last at least four weeks in my previous experience in getting a dip. But after one week it's already cracking and chipping pretty noticeably. Unfortunately paying $40 for a dip only to have it crack and chip after a week is not worth it. read more

A gentleman did my nails but when using the drill his hand slipped- twice and I starting bleeding on 2 fingers.! He didn't do anything & basically ignored that he cut me & just put some ointment on to stop the bleeding. Didn't say sorry or was I ok?!As you can see in my pictures both fingers have not gotten better. I went back into the store to complain and now there is a huge sign that states " NO REFUNDS ALLOWED" - and the guy (who spoke NO English) Kept pointing to the sign. I just left this establishment and am shocked at the treatment. All I asked was that the young man not use the drill. He was obviously annoyed and started filing the gel polish off. I asked if he was going to soak the polish off as had been done before. I understand the concept of roughing up the polish before the remover is put on. This just annoyed him more. Whoever was at the desk was also absolutely rude when I checked out too. I left him a tip and said thank you but they were rude and ignorant. Sadly the only other time I was there they were very nice. Using the drill may work for acrylic nails but I left the last salon because they refused to not use the drill for removal and cuticles. My nails became damaged and painful. It may be easier for them but is terrible for the health of the nails. The actual manicure was fine but the attitude was horrendous. read more

Do not go to this nail salon. Even though the prices are cheaper than most places, it lacks in quality. The facility itself is not very clean. The selection of color is minimal. They laughed at me when I complained that their steamed towels were way too hot. They were more interested in getting me in and out of the salon, rather than taking their time and doing a good job. Just get a regular pedicure the extra cost of the honey isn't worth it at all- I will slather honey on my legs myself for free.... super clean and this is the second time here after my not so great review and it has gotten better...- Not impressed today at all..wasted $15 on a lip and brow wax - had to come home and do it all over-I could tell she wasn't getting anything and I should've said something. It didn't even look like she had plucked or waxed one hair... Pedicure was not nearly as good as the last time. Hardly soaked at all. Before the pedicure the guy said he needed to go to the bathroom. After a few minutes I decided to go to the bathroom and low and behold he was outside smoking. It was all I could smell as he was doing my pedicure. Waste of $65 plus tips today! I opted for the honey pedicure and Alex did a great job. One of the coolest thing was during my massage they had a steamer with essential oils aimed at my legs and feet- a facial for the feet! I decided to find a new nail salon because I really wasn't happy with where I was going anymore. Today, I found out I've been overpaying for mediocre manicures for years. This was the best manicure experience I have ever had. I'm so glad I decided to come here! I was so impressed with the staff, as they were all so friendly and I was greeted as soon as I opened the door. The environment was so clean and modern, and there were so many polish options! After my gel manicure was finished, I was given a neck/shoulder massage, essential oils, a hand massage, AND a paraffin dip. All for a price cheaper than my terrible salon before.
