We have tried for over 3 weeks to put in an add celebrating our parents 50th anniversary. Finally someone reached out to us after multiple messages. They told us a price of $150. We accepted that and designed an add and submitted it. My wife looked at our bank account and they took out double the price. Then on top of that the add was not submitted for the day agreed upon. We asked for a refund and withdrew the ad. We were told the money would be back in our account by the end of the day. Now it would be nice to tell you that happened, but that was not the case. They are very inept, unprofessional, and unorganized. No wonder newspapers have started to go by the wayside. I am in shock with the delivery change. I could adjust to the 5 days but not the delivery by the mail. This was a very very bad decision. It was bad enough not to get a Monday paper, but now no Sunday and it being delivered between 4-5pm when I have no time to read it. And I feel sorry for the poor mailmen who have to deliver that my papers 5 days a week! I hope it doesn't take long for you to correct this. read more

Can someone at this paper please help me. I have taken the paper for many years and have overall been happy with it. But my home delivery has gotten awful and cannot get anyone at the paper to respond. All I can get is an answering machine and they never call me back. For the 6th week in a row I have not received the paper. I have also missed it 4 days during the week during this time period, a Tues., Wed. and two Thursdays. We had used Harold Democrat News since I was a kid. Then they got sloppy on their job and promises ripping people off... We had stopped getting the paper after I graduated because we needed the paper to know what was for lunch. They send teens out to sell their paper and they come up with a sad story if you say no and say they are trying to get something for college or something... Recently we had a teen that didn't even look old enough to be in high school saying the same line. Anyways we renewed our service with them with the so called good deal that was going on at the time... It was one payment that covered for like 6 months. We only received the paper for 2 or 3 weeks. So we said no more... Few years passed and we decided to give them one last try... There was a man selling the paper in Hastings my mom being an elderly woman couldn't see the form she was filling out because she forgotten her glasses at home. Gave the man the address to send it to.. And the payment card. Anyways a few weeks passed no paper. Then she gave me the copy portion of the paper the man filled out... I looked everything seem to be in order.. EXCEPT..... The address was wrong town wrong address and wrong name.. They had my mom sign someone else's paper. With our card number on it... We went to the offices about it but the guy was never there when we went to do the refund. We wanted our money back. They were willing to cancel but not to refund. Because the guy that was getting our paper. And if the guy didn't pay them they couldn't give us our refund ... It's a good thing that people in Sherman actually read the hard copy newspaper. The interface with their online classified ads is one of the worst I have ever seen. If you place a classified ad for real estate for sale by owner and expect to see it online, good luck. Even the local employee who placed the ad couldn't find it. Everyone was eager to blame the corporate office in Las Vegas for all the problems. Not much help with the problem, just a lot of finger pointing and whining. read more

After many years of having my paper delivered I can't seem to have that luxury anymore. We have a new carrier after repeated calls to circulation department and even the head of circulation department here again I have no paper. So if you live in Hyde park area I would think twice about subscribing to this paper read more

Horrible customer service. I had to call back 4 times because I kept getting disconnected. I called to get an ad in the paper and the lady whom I spoke with could not give me any information and did not offer to try to resolve the problem. I had to ask, "Well can I speak to someone else that may be able to help me with this?" I was then transferred to someone's voicemail and they never called me back. read more
