I went to Herbal Inn because I bought a voucher from Wowcher, it was pretty reasonable for this kind of session for an hour, and being a sufferer of sever shoulder and back pain, I decided to give it a go. Prior to this, my parter who has been to the place before told me that at the end of the session, they become really pushy to sell herbal medicines. I am very good at saying no to sales people having worked in retail business for numbers of years, I thought I knew how to smell the honey trap.
The session was good, after they told me all the scary things about my body(your man power is weak!!), and acupuncture, cupping, and massage. I felt very relaxed and was ready to go with my hazy mind, feeling quite revitalised.
The nightmare started after the session. The lady 'doctor' asked me sit down and the gentleman who looked like a manager translated what she was telling about my body in Chinese. After explaining what is happening with my body, he presented a few herbal medicine to me, feeling relaxed and my vision slightly blurred, I forgot about what my parter told me and thought they were giving me freebies to take care of my body. Silly me, the medicine were nearly £100 all together. I instantly said no, but they were really really pushy, saying 'all the good results you got today from the treatment will disappear if you don't continue' ' all the bad things will happen again'. I said that I would like to see how I feel after today and maybe come back to get them later. They were disapproving my choice, and finally asked me 'Why you come here' 'who bought this voucher' 'Where are you from originally?' 'What do you know about this kind of treatment' All the questions I found not relevant. I found whatever relaxing effect I had from the treatment disappeared not because of the lack of the medicine, but the patronising attitude this gentleman had towards me.
On the last note, when I finally managed to excuse myself, this gentleman said 'BYYYYEEEEE' in such a patronising manner, it really ruined my day.
Pity, the session was great, and if there was not this pushy attitude towards the customers, I probably would have returned. They were careful not to say these things 'work' as they are herbal medicines, but I am sure the way they scare people by saying all the bad things about your body would breach the trading standard, I will enquire about it.
Overall, I would NEVER go back there again however cheap the voucher is, and would not recommend to anyone, I mean, ANYONE. If you already had a voucher, and thinking about going there because you paid for it, forget about it. It is better to spend that time having a nice, warm bath without anybody pushing you to buy things because they will ruin your already stressful life. read more
