I just turned 75 and decided it was time to make my life a little easier. I figured it was time to…read moreclear all the flower gardens over run with weeds, the small trees, and out of control bushes that my front yard was a refuge for. Basically I just wanted grass to mow and be done with it. I also thought that it was time to replace the weed-laden garden that bordered my house with a nice rock border with a weed barrier underneath to keep it clear of invasive weeds. I called Robert Brown based on the great reviews he had on here and hoped for the best. I have had issues in the past with hiring handymen who either did shoddy work, or never finished the job after they convinced me to give them payment because of an urgent need. I decided this time I was going to hire a professional and not get fooled again. Rob showed up personally and listened carefully to what I had in mind and gave me a great price estimate which I only replied with "when can you start?" He showed up with his assistant Boo, and his mini Kubota tractor and digger and jumped right on re-configuring my front yard. They worked at an accelerated pace, and I could not believe how fast and professionally they accomplished their task at hand. Rob even made a few suggestions that made more work for himself, but refused to change the price, even though I offered to pay more. He said: "It's not about the money for me, I just want to make my customers happy." My neighbor came over to watch and was amazed at how fast they got the job done. Rob is a wizard with that tractor and even yanked out an impossible to get rid of crepe myrtle tree with ease! They finished the job by installing the rock border and replaced the border blocks I had from before to make a perfect job! The work was done quickly and professionally, everything was cleaned up and hauled away, and you could see the honest pride Rob took in his work as he showed my wife and me the finished project. I can't say enough about this man, Robert Brown. He is one thing that is extremely rare these days, a sincere man! What a pleasure, and an honor to have met him and his hard working assistant! Hired Verdant to put in fake turf around my pool. Paid a deposit in December of 2022, with an…read moreanticipated start date of late February. February came and went, and March and April came and went too, nothing from Verdant except excuses. I was promised that on May 1st they would definitely start. Nope!!!! I asked one more time on Tuesday afternoon when they didn't show up again, and I was told tomorrow. They did show up on Wednesday. They completed the job but not to my satisfaction. Within 3 days after final install weeds, grass and mushrooms coming up thru their turf. What do they say, We have never seen this before!!. Did they fix it, nope!! They put down pounds of vegetation killer, and weeks later, I still have weeds, grass and mushrooms growing theu their turf and rocks. I asked for 6 inches of rocks on either side of the turf, and I got a foot on each more rock, less turf. Next I didn't want black metal framing around the turf. Don't need my dog breaking a leg by stepping on it. Their website shows fake turf with no metal boarders. The metal framing is not square nor straight In fact it waves back and forth and the turf is cut the same way. I have a 4 to 6 step over at each gate. This also poses a trip hazard at both of my gates. The round decorative river rock was deleted by them and instead they put down gray slate chips that are rusting. The sprinklers that they capped and disconnected are still leaking so bad the rocks are wet everyday. The price this company wants me to pay is ridiculous for the shoddy work and inferior materials used. I asked how they will fix this mess, the owner said he would take care of my weeds for the rest of the year but that was it. When I told him that was unacceptable he threatened to sue me or put a lien on my house. They never leveled my yard. Avoid this horrible company and owner Robert Steuer.
