She also told me that she would send me a menu. I gave her my email address and ensured that she had the correct email address. After not receiving an email with the menu after one day, I called and left her a voicemail just to ensure that it was sent. In spite of that, I didn't get a phone call back. Then, I waited until later in the week to follow up via email. The person even ignored my email. The fact that I was ignored is really disheartening because I wanted to celebrate my upcoming milestone birthday there. I've reached out to them years ago, and whoever helped me was so accommodating. I even went up there to tour the place. I don't understand what happened this time.

In an age where dining out is as much a luxury as it is a necessity, the unspoken pact between…read morerestaurant and patron teeters on a simple truth: value should mirror cost. The sizzle of a steak on the grill, the tender flake of fresh fish, the hearty richness of pork or veal--these are not mere ingredients but promises of satisfaction, especially when the bill climbs higher. Yet too often, plates arrive with portions that whisper rather than proclaim, leaving diners to wonder where their money went. A sliver of beef drowned in sauce, a scant scattering of seafood atop a mound of rice--it's not enough. Not for the price, not for the hunger, not for the expectation. Restaurants, in their pursuit of profit or prestige, must remember the primal joy of a meal that fills both belly and soul, where protein reigns generous and bold. Beef that spills over the edge, pork that demands a second bite, fish and seafood piled high--these are the markers of a fair exchange. This is a call to the kitchens of the world: let the portions rise to meet the price, and let the proteins lead the charge, for in abundance lies loyalty, and in fairness, trust.

The grounds and golf course look exquisitely well kept. I have been here several times for lunch and dinner. The food is very good. Everything that I have had has been really exceptional. I especially like their soups. The white bean chicken chili is some of the best I have ever had. I had a blackened grouper dish once that would rival any restaurant in the city of Memphis. Burgers are all a solid choice too. The club itself is really nice, especially for being as old as it is. It is very well maintained and has some very nice features throughout. Chickasaw was founded in 1922, 100 years ago last year. I am sure it's had several renovations over the years to keep it looking so fresh. If I were to join a CC in Memphis, this would be the one! I seem to know a bunch of it's members, and the food is freaking fantastic!

The chicken was so undercooked that I got a vegetarian dish the next time and then the potatoes were raw. The last time I was there a MOUSE literally fell from the ceiling and in to the blouse of the woman eating at the table. No one seemed to be concerned but where there is one there is a ton. The desserts are also terrible. It tastes like "what can we get away with, bare minimum to provide a meal." I cannot believe this is the quality of food they prepare for paying guests of the club.

For decades, as I drove down I-55 on my trec from St. Louis to Helena, Arkansas, I saw what I…read morethought was a small, probably par three practice course in Marion, AR. With my peripheral vision I could see 2-3 holes with water hazards that never failed to make me say, "I'm going to check that place out." Finally, on memorial day 2026 I kept that promise and was I surprised! Brownstone is far from "a small, probably par three practice course". It is an eighteen-hole, challenging course that tests one's skill and allows players to use every club in their arsenal. The fairways and greens are well laid out and impeccably maintained. I arrived about fifteen minutes late for my tee time because of some construction in Memphis as I drove to the course from Tunica, MS. When I called, the woman in the pro shop was very nice and assured me that it would be ok if I was a bit late. As it turned out, the course wasn't crowded with golfers but there was a lot of activity at the facility from a family reunion taking place there. I paid my fee which I thought, pre-round, was reasonable. Post-round I felt that a slightly higher greens fee would have been justified. Wait. Did I just say I should have been charged more? Yes I did, and yes, I meant it. This is an outstanding course, and I have paid more for less many times in many places. I don't get to play very often but I long ago recognized that the staff has a great impact on players' club experience. The staff at Brownstone is A#1. To a person they were friendly, personable, and helpful. They more than made up for all the balls I left in the water hazards.
