Review is based on bar area only. Friendly and attentive staff...no doubt! Ordered a few drinks and I have to say...I was beyond impressed with the selection of beers. They carry Shiner Bock! It's a Texan beer founded by German and Czech peeps. Yahooooo, gotta love Heroes! Food? Tasted wings in the past (4 years ago) and other bar food...all great back then. Ambience is so much fun! Lights everywhere with memorabilia, antiques, and photos all around the venue. And huge alcohol selection. Love Heroes!

First the time to get in was a few minutes before we got seated and we got the fried pickles for the appetizer and chips the chips were crispy and some were soggy, while the pickles were juicy and crunchy, and our food took about 5 to 10 minutes and the service was great the waiter checked in on us and asked about the food, and the food was in a HUGE portions and what we got were the patty melt ,hero burger, and California burger (all in combos) , and the restaurant its self was bright with Christmas lights all around the restaurant.

We went out to meet friends for holiday drinks and decided on the festive atmosphere at Heroes, "Where good friends meet!" They have absolutely any kind of beer you would want and a full bar with many delicious specialty cocktails. After drinks and before heading home, not driving, I realized I was hungry and craving the Philly cheesesteak sandwich. I ordered it to go with curly fries and boy did it hit the spot. Like all of Heroes portions, they are extremely generous and delicious. I absolutely love this place and the staff, my server Samantha was a sweetheart and very attentive. We will definitely keep coming back!

Came here for a great dinner! I have definitely been to Heroes before, but just for drinks, this was the first time I had a proper meal here. Walked in with the pooch and headed straight to the back patio. It was a happenin' Saturday night outside and folks seemed to be enjoying themselves. I loved the beer selection! There were so many and I chose a tasty sour while my date got a yummy cider. Both were super good. For meals, I ordered the Black and Blue burger. Admittedly it was a bit too salty, but me after a few drinks would have loved this. I was really shocked by the ribeye my date got! It was huge, juicy, and a great value. Usually at spots like this, I steer clear of steak, but clearly I was mistaken about heroes! So good Cute little lowkey date night. I know ill be back!

New favorite date spot! Phenomenal value for your meals, really cute decor inside and everything we tried was excellent. Service was great and it had a great community feel. Can't wait to come back!

A good spot to grab a bite to eat, a drink and chat it up with your friends or family while watching a game! A casual sports restaurant in the downtown Fullerton area. Our food was delicious, the drink cups are pretty big which is good because you get what you pay for. I will say going on a week day, we were watching the game and the restaurant closed an hour earlier than online says so, but that makes sense if there's not a lot of customers that day, resulting in an early close. Weekends or big game days are far more popping and popular buzzing with energy. The staff is pretty chill and will give suggestions if you ask. Kinda wish the menu had smaller shareable appetizers.

Love this place. Great food, great beer and amazing staff. Christian is the best bartender in the entire planet. He's Always making sure I never run out of beer in my glass! Even tho sometimes I may feel like I blew my entire net worth, definitely worth the visits every payday. Thank you Heros!!!

Great customer service. Cool ambiance. The patio has lights but they kind of block the vision of the tv. Good food and nice size portions. I had the burger with fries and nachos. Both were good.

if you're looking for a place to sit around and gossip with the bestie, this is it. a long day of work means winding down with a drink and a lot of comfort food, especially when you're an adult that hates the fact you have to pay bills for the rest of your life (thanks mom and dad. never got the tip about condoms, huh?) coming from a person who is EXCEPTIONALLY light and sound sensitive, i don't actually prefer places that are a crowd-favorite. i tend to stay away from bars, but the bestie is a bit of a socialite and loves the atmosphere of this place. tends to go out a bit more than me and recommended that we tackle this place so we can talk. and here's the thing. you actually CAN talk and hear people. the atmosphere is lively, but not overwhelming. i'd like to think the drinks helped. walking in, you do have to assert yourself. you don't wait around or you'll be waiting for a hot second. so big suggestions for people who are a bit more weary to step out of their comfort zone and try something new. politely wave someone down and say you're looking for a table. the drinks and the food come next. be patient! the girl that served us was a doll and the pizza was the right amount of greasy comfort that one needs when you accidentally pick the largest glass to sip on throughout the night.

I nearly s**t a brick when I saw this sign @Hero's. This is the store where my mom bought me shoes as a child in Hobart, Indiana.
    PC M.

Food is good. Beer is excellent. That "Hobart Shoes" sign in the alley entrance used to hang above the door where my mother used to take me to buy shoes when I was a child in Hobart, Indiana. I really thought I was hallucinating when I got out of my car and saw that sign? I had a modest hangover, turned round and leaned on the hood of my car to get my stuff properly packed, then looked again. The sign was still there. Only God Knows how this artifact found its way from my home town to a back entrance of a Fullerton Bar????

Had dinner there on Saturday, we like to get there early so they don't run out of prime rib. Unfortunately prime rib is now only served a few days a week. However, dinner was delicious. The service was outstanding and of course I love the ambience with the music and the Flatscreens showing all the respective games.

This was my first time at Heroes and I have to say I had a blast. I always heard about how great the food was at this joint, especially for breakfast. While I wasn't able to grab breakfast this time, I have to say the dinner choices were pretty suburb. I've only had a chili size a few times before, but this had to be my favorite one of bunch. The chili was chunky, the cheese was gooey, and the portion size including the curly fries was huge. I loved it. I like the energy in the place. It was very much a sports bar and hangout. If it was closer I would definitely think of it as a place to watch a few NHL or MLB games. The service was impeccable too, considering how busy the place was. I felt taken care of the whole time.

Because it's so cramped, every conversation echoes throughout the room, which made it hard to relax and enjoy the experience. The drinks were expensive and very small, and honestly didn't feel worth the price. The food was the same way. We ordered the scallops and the cheeseburger -- $36 for three scallops with rice and $26 for a mediocre burger and fries felt really overpriced for the quality and portion sizes. Unfortunately, the whole experience felt more like a rip-off than a special night out. I don't think I'd return, and I probably wouldn't recommend it to friends.

We attended a special Chartreuse tasting event at Strong Water which was being held in honor of…read moreChartreuse week and Chartreuse Day 1605 (May 16), the annual celebration of Chartreuse's origins and history. The tasting featured a great lineup of green and yellow Chartreuse paired with small bites. It concluded with a complementary Chartreuse-based cocktail from one of five recipes. Brand ambassador Taylor guided the event and began by telling us about the unique history of Chartreuse. The tasting started out with a small spoonful of Vegetal Elixir Chartreuse to warm up the palate. This is the base spirit of both green and yellow Chartreuse and clocks in at 138 proof. It was surprisingly not harsh, but immediately kicked my salivary glands into overdrive. I didn't even know that vintages of Chartreuse was a thing, but Taylor walked us through tasting three different vintages of both yellow and green Chartreuse, and it was surprising how different they were. The lineup concluded with more rare varietals of the green elixir 1605 and yellow cuvee. Great job, thanks Taylor! Chef Kling presented each small bite which included a crispy Icelandic cod, a roasted beet crostino, and a lamb slider. All of them had a five star list of ingredients and were delicious. Strong Water is known for their excellent cocktails, but their food is also great. For my cocktail at the end of the event, I had the Bar Flower (Green Chartreuse, Crème de Cacao, Pineapple, Lime). This was so good, with the herbal and chocolate flavors perfectly balanced. It was served with a flaming lime half. This was such a great event! Chartreuse retails for around $100 a bottle, and the higher-end varieties cost even more. At just $45 per person, this event was an amazing bargain. Strong Water frequently hosts great events, so keep an eye on their social media for upcoming dates. I really love Chartreuse, so I went back a few days later on the last day of Chartreuse week to try a few of the other limited time cocktails. I started out with their twist on a Grasshopper (Chartreuse, Crème de Menthe, Chili Liqueur, Crème de Cacao, Cream, Cane, $22). This was a great classic Grasshopper, but the Chartreuse added a herbal complexity, and there is a dash of heat on the finish from the chili liqueur. Next I had the Flare Gun (Yellow Chartreuse, Overproof Rum, Italian Bitter, Lime, Cane, $20). The yellow Chartreuse definitely comes through, but it's softer and has a light sweetness, unlike the green variety. Even though it contains overproof rum, it is perfectly balanced and not boozy at all. I usually don't like bitter drinks, but the bitterness was at a perfect light level. I finished off with the Tales from the Black Lagoon which is my favorite drink here, and it's also a favorite of many of the bartenders. All three cocktails were a home run. Chartreuse is an expensive spirit, so those drinks cost a little more than average. Shout out to Karen, Joey, Edgar, Jordan, and Ying for excellent hospitality, as always. Strong Water is our favorite place. We can't wait to go back!

It is located in downtown Fullerton, next to the Les Amis Lebanese/Mediterranean restaurant. Look for the entrance on the west side of the building with a red entrance and Chapter 4 projection logo on the sidewalk. You can make a reservation on their website. We walked in and were greeted immediately. Seating options include tall chairs at the bar, low booths along the front wall across from the bar, and various tables in the main lounge area. All of the chairs look very comfortable. We sat in one of the booths across from the bar. It has a great vibe inside with a dark ceiling and walls, and is lit on the dimmer side. There was light lounge/soft jazz music playing when we visited. They also have live jazz music on some nights. A bowl of nuts, water, and menus arrived quickly. They have a great menu of house-curated cocktails, their spins on classic cocktails, and a large list of whiskeys and other spirits. They also have several food items on the menu. They have private liquor lockers available to store personal bottles for members Before I continue, I have to say that JC, one of the owners, who greeted us and was our server all evening, provided outstanding hospitality. While researching their bar menu online, we saw the cloud cocktail which had a very unique presentation with a burning ember cloud-like display. We came for my girlfriend's birthday, and she knew that would be her first drink. Unfortunately when we tried to order it, they were out of the gas for it. We noticed that the physical menu was a little different than the online menu. Apparently they had just changed the menu and had not updated the website yet. She wanted the Dirty Dill which wasn't on the new cocktail menu, but they were still able to make it. Dirty Dill (Gin, Vodka, Lemon, Pickle Juice, Olive Juice, Milk Washed & Clarified, $19). We could smell pickle on the nose, but when we took a sip, it was very boozy with little pickle or olive flavor. We asked if they could add some more pickle juice, and JC brought us a big shot glass of pickle juice so she could adjust it to her liking. She liked it once she added some more pickle juice. I started out with the Cococacaocoladaclara cocktail (Cacao-Infused Rum, Orange Liquor, Pineapple & Lime Juice, Coconut Milk Clarified, $18). This wasn't quite what I was expecting, and I had a hard time picking out the flavors. It was definitely strong and boozy. We were finishing our first round when we spotted JC walking towards our table with a cloud! He managed to find whatever it takes to make the effect, and we were very appreciative. I have seen a lot of presentations, and this was definitely a unique one. The birthday shot was very good, and he said the ingredients were mezcal, lavender, and lemon. Old Fashioneds have been growing on me lately. After the great presentation of the cloud, I had to try the Sinatra Old Fashioned (Jack Daniel's Sinatra Select, one dash of chocolate Bitters, $40). It is served in a rotating crystal glass, lit from underneath, with a clear ice sphere. Again, the presentation was great, and it was the smoothest old fashioned I've ever had. She had her eye on the Tuk Tuk for her second drink (Coconut Fat Washed Rum, Supasawa, Pandan Syrup, Mango Syrup, Rice Garnish, $18). She asked if it was very sweet, and he said that it was indeed quite sweet. Instead, she opted for the Firefox (Vodka, Pomegranate, Lemon, Vanila, Rose Liquor, Cherry Bitters, $18). Once again, this cocktail had a great presentation. It's served in a short, wide glass that sits perfectly on top of a piece of petrified-looking wood. You hold the glass with both hands and sip it like a bowl of soup. It was very balanced and smooth, with a nice tartness and light sweetness. JC stopped by again to check on our second round. A few minutes later he surprised us again, and returned with shot sized versions of the Tuk Tuk to sample. It was definitely on the sweeter side with good coconut and pandan flavor. We probably would have tried a third round, but we had dinner and a drink before coming here. Their menu of house-curated cocktails is impressive, and features many uncommon ingredients. We had a good time, but JC went the extra mile for us all night long and made it a great time. We will definitely return again.

For regular patrons, lockers are available to store your personal collection of spirits, so that you may enjoy your favorite brews in the atmosphere of Chapter 4. We visited right in time for their winter seasonal menu. The Candlelight Confession from this menu is delicious, and served with a torched marshmallow. From their signatures, I really enjoyed La Peligrosa, a tequila based cocktail that was floral and refreshing. My drink of choice recently, however, has been a Pornstar Martini. I asked the bartender if he could make one for me, and he just happened to have the ingredients necessary. So he did :) It was really good.  I enjoyed myself so much on my first visit that I invited more of my friends to come the following Friday. There were 7 of us total. It was a tight squeeze, but they were able to fit us all at a table. I'm very grateful to the staff for accommodating us, but I definitely would recommend visiting with a smaller party. There was live music that night with a trumpet player, livening up the air with jazz music. We had Pornstar Martinis again, which were amazing. I also dabbled in their whiskey cocktails as those are their specialty. The High Society was quite the showstopper, arriving at our table topped with a woolen cloud set ablaze. The way the embers danced was nothing short of magic. Removing the cloud revealed a wispy layer of smoke, which was both captivating and added depth to the drink. The rye whiskey was smooth and palatable, with a steady warmth as opposed to a harsh burn and flavored by cherry bitters. I don't usually drink darks, but this was very enjoyable. I also took the opportunity to sample the Démodé, Chapter 4's take on an Old Fashioned, garnished with an orange peel and a Luxardo cherry. Like the High Society, the whiskey was smooth and enjoyable to sip over time.  I love Chapter 4. The drinks are palatable and interesting. The staff is welcoming and kind. The atmosphere is classy, yet laid back and cozy. In a downtown district filled with sports bars and pubs (which can be fun), Chapter 4 is my calm eye of the storm, a place to sit, relax, and enjoy the night with well crafted drinks and conversation.
