The worst problems I've ever had in all these years is one time there was a long line, and another time they didn't have a car ready so I had to come back in an hour. Nobody's ever been rude to me! For best experience / price, I recommend: --Signup for the Budget rewards program, FastBreak. It saves you time at checkout. --Call ahead to confirm reservation, just to be safe --Choose to fill up the gas yourself before returning - there's a Shell station right down the road and it's cheaper than having them refill. --Call your credit card's customer service and see if your credit card automatically covers you for the rental insurance when you use the credit card.

The rental was for a mini-van and at that late hour no mini-vans were available for rent anywhere for the dates I required. We had to drive our personal vehicle. I complained in writing and heard nothing in five weeks. I complained in writing again and was offered one day free rental on a future reservation. I declined - such a cancellation is a breach of trust which remains broken. I have recorded a complaint with Costco Travel and asked them to sanction or terminate their relationship with Avis. Never again.

I called Thyrl Reed (Kevin's boss) and asked for a record of the cancelation. Thyrl said he would cancel when he got to his computer. This still has not happened 2 days later.
