They are currently handling a case for me. This will be the second time it's gone to court. The first time they said some technical errors happened, something had to be resubmitted, then the case would go again. They tried to remove themselves as my council because i didnt respond to them in a timely manner. Im not sure why this was required, as they had told me the case would likely go the same route as the first time, so they should need little to no information from me at this point. After i responded to them, I told the person that i would contact them the following monday to discuss whatever they needed. That person was out of office. Today , i get a notice that something has been uploaded to my portal. when i try to access it, i get this error: Forbidden Your account does not have access to the requested application. It's possible you've reached this page due to an out of date link or bookmark. If so, please update your link and try again. OFC its been silence from them since all this started happening after i called and the guy that i was supposed to speak with wasnt there. read more

I got a letter from this "law firm" advising me that I'm being sued by a creditor. News to me! Wouldn't I have been served by now if I were being sued? Anyway, they want me to hire them so they can represent me in this "case". And oh by the way, they say they can also help me with other debt that I'm not being sued for. They cite a case number at the bottom of the letter. I, being the smart person I am, go to my county's official court records lookup and enter the case number. No results! Hmm. I enter my name. No results! I have come to the conclusion that I am indeed not being sued, and that this firm is a group of charlatans. read more

$1600 fee to represent me on 2 credit card cases valued at around $2500 isn't something that's worth it. Unfortunately, after reading reviews that they didn't even get the amount negotiated down to a figure that's affordable(usually 85-90% of value + fees + court costs) The staff I talked to on the phone had a such a thick accent I could barely understand her, which made it extremely difficult to communicate. read more

Please be Aware, and DONT hire Heston Law Firm. They will lie to you to get the business but in reality they dont do a thing. They ask you to settle at 80-90% of the lawsuit, where originally, the Plaintiff, was willing to settle at 70%. I fell to this trap because on the original phone call with Heston Law Firm, they promised a maximum of 60% settlement, but high chance of dismissal. They lie and please people, dont give them more business. They should be ASHAMED at themselves for cheating on people. read more

I received a letter (it is marked as an advertisement) from Heston Law Firm, wanting to represent me in a lawsuit that my bank had filed against me. According to their letter, this lawsuit was filed 15 days before they contacted me, and they emphasized that I only had 2-4 weeks to respond to the lawsuit or risk wage garnishment. The letter even included a case number at the bottom. However, I found it odd because I was never served or given a summons to appear in court to resolve this lawsuit. I searched the county website, and according to their records, no such lawsuit has been filed. I even called them to confirm that this is correct, and they did confirm it. I gave the man on the phone the case number they used and he said that the case number is not an active lawsuit with the county. The lying and fear-mongering this law firm commits is atrocious. I would never do business with them, and wouldn't recommend anyone else to either! read more

CAUTION - this is LONG. BUT TRUST ME, THESE NEGATIVE REVIEWS ARE 100% TRUE. i never leave yelp reviews unless it's truly necessary-- as is the case with the "firm." It has been a long time since I dealt w this trash of a law firm but had come leave this review to hopefully spare someone else the trouble! I wish I could leave ZERO STARS. I am a recent law school grad, so this "firm"'s level of professio was appalling. THEY HAVE MADE SO MANY ETHICAL VIOLATIONS!!!! As a quick background -- I received solicitation years ago from this firm due to an issue that arose regarding a student loan for which I had forgotten to provide proof of graduation. Long story short, the person who begun working on my file left. When it finally reached the hands of another employee - namely Rachel boll, still nothing was getting done. Another 2+ years passed, & I had to continuously reach out to ask what they needed from me in order for the case to be dropped, constantly ask the cause of delay, never received ANY follow up responses. Literally nothing. this followup, multiple email game was the situation for over a YR. It got to the point where I finally explicitly asked via email HOW they communicate w/clients if nobody responds to emails nor answers calls!! they literally DO NOT respond to you. If you do call, the ppl on the other end are extremely rude & will not transfer you to anyone. Keep in mind, EACH one of my emails included ALL parties involved- Rachel boll, receptionist Tosha Steadman, and the current partner, James Heston. I had SEVERAL docs sent to their office at least 3 diff. Times bc each time they were "never received.." just to find out that they had moved offices & of course failed to inform me. The address wasn't even updated on any of the employees' email signatures. I mean you can't make this up. My loan was eventually forgiven but bc this "firm" failed to inform me of any updates, I was held responsible for the state atty's fees/court fees & interest accrual. Why? Bc of their failure to send my docs in a timely manner/communicate w the AG's office & most importantly, their failure to let me know that a judgment was rendered over 6months prior!!! I was completely shocked when i spoke w the AG's office directly & found out the judgment was rendered several months before. Fun fact-- I once addressed a follow up email directly to the (now former) partner, Mr. Ciment, thinking maybe if I go directly to him something would happen. He emailed me back within a few hours to let me know he was no longer w this firm - and in hindsight, I can only imagine why. This just further solidified the fact that this firm & the ppl I was communicating with are completely INCOMPETENT AND UNPROFESSIONAL. ***BELIEVE THESE REVIEWS -- YOU WANT TO TAKE YOUR CASE ELSEWHERE.**** THIS FIRM HAS VIOLATED MULTIPLE ETHICAL RULES/DUTIES & SHOULD NOT BE IN BUSINESS. it's no wonder they have no website in existence, Bc they are the bottom barrel of law firms..& continue to uphold a high level of stagnancy. Garage garage garage. Worst experience I have ever had with an attorney. I had zero connect from my attorney for over six months when I would send numous emails asking for an update through their website. Then when they decide they don't want to fight the case and want to settle they offer my maximum amount I think is fair since with their cost I am saving $300 of the $3400 the debt collector is going after. When I was approached by them. They told me they start low and fight. I asked them this exact scenario with what about is settle is high so it costs me more then original balance with their attorney fees. I moved to a different state doing this whole process and they never notfied the courts or debt collector. I ma having to fire them two weeks before court date and do everything myself. I will be looking into filing malpractice lawsuit agisnt them for not filing changes with courts and for not representing client to fulliest. read more

I'm 67 years old. In September 2020 I paid Heston Law Firm $1,700 to represent me on a credit card suit. Due to Covid my case sat until August 2023. I never had 1 communication from them. I got a notice from the court about a trial date. Never heard from Heston. I called several times before I finally spoke to someone. The fee I paid was supposed to be the full cost. I asked them to settle the case and told them what I could afford to pay. The credit card company accepted my offer yesterday and today I got an invoice from Heston for almost another $1,000 called a "Savings Fee". I called them just now and was told that in my retainer agreement it states they get a 20% fee of the amount they save me on top of the retainer fee I paid. I dont have a copy the agreement they said I signed and no one ever mentioned it. What was said was the $1,700 I paid was a flat fee. Never again would I use this firm. Will never recommend them in fact I'm going to tell everyone I know to stay away from Heston Law Firm. read more

I hired this firm for two cases, and they got both of them dismissed. I'm a bit surprised at the low reviews. I was kept updated with automated emails. But, I did have to call to get the final disposition on each case, at which time they sent me the dismissal documents promptly. They were not the cheapest firm, but they quoted me a fair fee and stuck to it. Another firm I called before I hired Heston tried to do a bait and switch on the price. Overall, I'm happy with the experience and I would hire the Heston Law Firm again if I ended up in another crazy situation. read more
