Looking for a great way to spend a couple hours on any evening in Amsterdam...and not like "that"?…read more This is the place. Burlesque dinner show is worth it. While the food is nothing to quite write home about, it is good and you wont leave hungry! Decent bottles of wine for surprisingly good prices. Main attraction, however, is the entertainment. The MC looks like a more attractive version of your grandma, but it's charming, she's funny and engaging with the crowd, and works the room with effortless ease. Main performer is beautiful and knows what she's doing with burlesque - a real pro. And if (when?) you get invited to join that table of two attractive "sisters," visiting from "Australia,"...word to the wise: just remember...you ARE in Amsterdam.

The doors opened at 7pm and the theater itself opened its doors so you could sit down at 7:30pm. In the in between there is a cafe and other random seating areas. The seats were comfortable but a little small. I noticed a lot of folks having issues finding their seat which I thought was odd with the amount of ushers there. Ushers were an issue here. The event did not allow photos or video which was fine, but the ushers standing in front of you, holding that light in front of someone takes the fun out of the show. At one point, I watched an usher jump over about 15 or more people in a row to get to someone in the middle section who was video recording. Totally takes you out of the space. Now the acoustics inside were amazing. I don't think I've ever heard sound like that before. It was perfect. I was in awe. Overall it was a great theater. Minus the overzealous ushers and it would have been perfect.

I attended a special event here last year, and it was such an impressive venue for it. The space is vast, clean, and well-maintained, and being surrounded by nearly a century of sporting history gives any event a really unique, memorable energy. Whether you're going for a concert, a sports match, or just strolling through Amsterdam-Zuid to admire the classic brick facade, it's an absolute gem of the city. Highly recommend taking it in!

I thought it was a lovely intimate space, and the art deco heritage is very apparent (it was built for the 1928 Olympics). Also, the current usage, with lots of sports-related stores located in the lower levels is a most clever usage of space. There's a whole bunch of great sporting statues all around the stadium and the weekend I arrived, the stadium was actually being used for the Amsterdam Triathalon event. One thing I would suggest, is actually when you come out, walk towards the right as there is this cool bridge over the canal, leading up to the Olympic stadium if you are coming from the Amsteelveen station and it has these carvings reminiscent of ancient Greek statues, but in an Art Deco style, which are so terribly beautiful.
