Hey Do You Need Your House Painted - Painters Near Me - Ferndale, Washington

I used "Need Your House Painted" in early June. The contract called for them to paint the house and apply a sealer to the stone face for a set price. I agreed to pay an extra $25 per hour for carpentry work to replace any trim that needed it. The agreement also specified that I would purchase any lumber needed. The paint crew did a good job and did most of the work in two days. Unfortunately, they ran short of the sealer and were not able to finish coating a section of the stone. The foreman and I agreed that I owed them for 4 hours labor for trim replacement, but I paid them for the painting work and the owner (Leroy) said they would come back and finish the stone when material became available. Up to this point I would have left them a 5 star review. After several weeks I contacted the owner to inquire when they would be back, and he said he certainly would be back because he wanted the $500 I still owed them for the trim replacement. I asked how he got to $500, and he said it was labor and lumber. I pointed out that I bought the lumber at his request and had the receipts to prove it. He then stated that it had taken 20 hours labor. I pointed out that the foreman told me 4 hours and that I had been there during the project and knew it could not have taken 20 hours. He finally agreed that I still owed him $100. Interestingly, he called me the next day and wanted to know why my wife called him from my cell phone and berated him. I explained that my wife is ill, is unable to use the phone, was totally unaware of the painting project and that it was impossible for her to have contacted him. I suggested that maybe he was confusing my house with a different project, but he was adamant that he was not confused. I also asked him what product he use on the stone so I could finish the job, but he declined to give me that info. It has now been two months and it is pretty clear he is not coming back since he is not taking my calls. My advice is to withhold the entire final payment until you are satisfied that all the work has been completed. read more

Absolute crooks. Took $1500 up front for materials and prep work. Showed up to pressure wash then never could show up again. Full of excuses. When I finally got tired of this I asked for $1200 back since they did pressure wash. Leroy agree to send the money. Of course I never saw a dime back and he blocked my phone number. I went to his business and the place is plastered with no trespassing signs, I'm sure there's a good reason for that. Leroy and this company are criminals in my opinion. I would never use this company again. Leroy is very unprofessional and did not to me at all while painting my rental. He would call hours before showing up after I told him numerous times he couldn't do that with my rental. I asked for a dark gray color for my house and ended up with a blue gray. He assured me one coat of paint would b enough and it wasn't even close and I have proof. The color I asked for wasn't even close to what I got. When I asked him about it he basically said f u. I put the color on that u wantes. Don't waste ur money spend the extra for a quality painter. Leroy and his team were quick, professional, and did an amazing job for an excellent price. They did everything from pressure wash the roofs to caulk and reattach some siding on an outbuilding that they also painted. You could tell that they wanted it to all look good when they were done, and to keep looking good for years afterwords as well. We couldn't be happier with how it turned out. We have hired Leroy and crew on 6 separate houses so far, and could not be more pleased with his speed and quality. We've had him on projects valued less than 250k, and as high-end as 1.7m - the quality is as high on the 250k project as it was on the 1.7m project. He's performed interior and exterior painting, as well as wood staining. Based on several conversations on one of our new projects it is clear he has experience as a carpenter as well, which is an added bonus. Our builder (president of the Whatcom County Builder's Association - so reputation is of utmost importance to him) on one of our projects was so please with his speed and quality he fired painters he has used for years in order to hire Leroy and crew to paint his projects. For the negative reviews I would like to place a response only because I have extensive work history with Leroy; due to his high quality and low prices he is in incredible demand at all times. This often leads to him scrambling to get all projects done in a reasonable timeframe. This is often the Achilles' heel for quality work at a good price. As the saying goes; speed, quality, low cost.. you can get 2, but not 3. We have been fortunate and gotten all 3 from Leroy on some of our projects. We have a lengthy record of hiring several painters around Whatcom and Skagit counties. It is true you may have to exercise a little bit of patience depending on what time of the year you have contacted him and his work volume, but take it from someone who has used multiple painters throughout the years - the wait is well worth it, so just go into the project with those expectations and I promise you will be leaving a 5 star review here, too. read more

We needed to have our house in Birch Bay painted before we put it on the market to sell. We called Leroy and he met us and gave us the quote. The price was reasonable and fair and he communicated with us throughout the entire process even sending pictures as the work was done. We ended up having both the interior and exterior done. We were on a tight timeline and Leroy and his crew got the job done. I was really impressed with the quality of the edges! We ended up getting multiple offers and sold the house within the first weekend and I'm sure the new paint job played a big part and was a great investment. Please DO NOT use this company. I paid Leroy $500 (one third of the total price) to paint the porch railing way back in March and he never came back. He would schedule a time and never show up. After about three months of this my husband told him it needed to get done so he said, "You are too impatient I'm going to give you your money back". He of course never brought the money and has stopped taking our calls. He also missed several spots on our house that we didn't notice at first and that was something he was suppose to fix when he came back to paint the railing. read more

If you are planning on getting your house painted DO NOT use Hey Do You Need Your House Painted located on the corner of Bay and Grandview. The owner Leroy is very condescending and does not communicate with his customers regarding changes. At first he seems very enthusiastic and happy to help you complete your project but he's very much like a sleazy car salesman. His workers show up when they aren't scheduled to and they don't show up when they are. If they damage something in the process it takes them forever to fix it. They haven't finished our project and I have been unable to get him to send someone out to finish. Yes he offers the cheapest prices but you get what you pay for in this instance. I would recommend paying a little bit more and getting a much more professional company. In an attempt to get out project completed we had scheduled for his workers to come out on the weekend. They never showed. I called this morning and scheduled another day and complained about the poor business practice of not communicating with your customers. His reply was "then what do you want?" After hanging up I realized that we couldn't do the day we had scheduled so I tried calling back right away. He ignored my calls. I texted him a message saying the day wouldn't work. His response is as follows "I really don't think that with the insults that I got from you that we can do any more work for you we take pride in our work and we don't deserve and insults at all cuz we made your house look really nice you know we are sorry that we missed on Saturday but that is mean you have to insult us so you can find take $100 that you held back you can find somebody else to paint your door thank you goodbye". Please save yourself the headache and use another company. I just wish I had read the other reviews prior to hiring him. read more

Here I go...I hired Leroy to paint my home last summer. I did not have a good experience with this man. He can over while they were working on the house, done in one day. I had also hired him to paint my deck railing. I wanted to redo it but thought perhaps after it was painted. I paid him in cash. I received no statement that the job was paid in full and I wish I never paid in cash because I would have stopped payment, which included the money for the railing. This is what he said to me" Why don't you have my handyman and myself fix the railing and paint it ourselves." Sounded good to me. He said he had so many other homes to paint and this would help him out. I forgot to catch him when he left with the full payment. Yes, his prices were way less then other painters but that is no excuse to be treated like this. There were some issues that I was not happy about and sent him a text which he ignored. I told him one of my planters had been broken, no response. I proceeded to text him that I wanted my money back for the railing and eventually he said"he would give it back" Lied!! I wrote again nicely and asked him to drop it off at my house, no follow up... Months went by and I became more angry so I filed in Small Claims Court in Bellingham. I sent a certified letter to be signed but he never picked it up at the post office. I then had to hire 4th Corner to deliver the court papers to his home. No surprise, he never showed up. Another court date was set and another no show. The judge gave me paperwork for a final judgement that he owned me my money. He had 30 days and again no reply!!! I'm not done yet but I want those who decide to hire him beware of how he conducts himself. I'm a low income senior on a fixed income and he does this!!! Leroy Cozine stole money from me. I had paid him to paint my railing for $500 and he never did the work and never refunded me the $. I paid him in cash!!! I took him to small claims court and he never paid the judgement. I then decided to continue to fight this and filed another lawsuit with Superior Court ( this second filing cost me a lot of money) I put the owner of the company, Leroy, Desiree Mork and the bond company on the lawsuit to collect from his bond. It was more then double my original claim. Leroy showed up at court and paid the initial judgement. He wanted to get away without paying for the total amount. We couldn't be more pleased with this company. Prompt, fast, clean, and extremely helpful. Moved everything and put it all back. They took down lights, fixed dry rot, and re-sided our garage for no extra charge. Not a single drop of paint anywhere. The estimate included the paint and all necessary supplies. One day for prep, two days for paint and trim. We will have them back during the winter to do work inside. Would easily recommend to others.
