DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY! We are a small family owned and operated trucking company. We reached out and spoke directly to Jon Rizzo and David Cohen who is Chief of Legal Operations (let me be clear none of these people are attorneys) both assured us over 3 years ago now that they would be successful in 'getting us paid'. In an email from Jon Rizzo on 6/29/23 he states 'There are zero additional legal fees, and the one-time cost covers the entire process, but also complete enforcement of judgment against the defendants bank accounts, assets and income streams' We put our faith in his word and sent all supporting documentation for the claim. Months went by, years went by. I had to chase them via email and wait for replies from multiple individuals, to include Adam, Amanda, Jose, Ayana and that's just to name a few, and let me be clear when I tell you a few of these individuals named were very rude and unprofessional, replied as if we were bothering them. We were told frequently someone 'moved on' from HF Holdings and our case had to be 're-assigned' Basically, giving us the run around. Let me be very clear, HF Holdings is NOT a law firm, they are the middleman. We never once were able to speak to or email an attorney direct. HUGE RED FLAG! Zero follow upon HF Holdings part unless YOU (the client chases them) which I did every couple of months religiously. The customer (ERECTION & WELDING in Berlin, CT) who still owes us a very significant sum of money for work done for them is STILL operating and generating 6 to 7 million annually, they hold assets, bank accounts yet the 'attorneys' with HF Holdings failed to secure debt owed to date. Which is unacceptable without a full refund to us! Just yesterday I received an email from HF Holdings advising us that 'the attorney closed the file' due to so many outstanding cases against Erection & Welding'. THAT discovery should have been made in the early stages of them gathering info. Instead, they gave us the runaround for years! I wonder if they would just walk away from THOUSANDS owed to THEM. They do not stand by their own guarantee. The statement on their own site is 'No Recovery, No Fee' is false. DO NOT PUT YOUR HARD-EARNED MONEY OR FATH IN HF HOLDINGS. read more

I am a small business owner who went to them to reclaim unpaid fees from a client. Not only did no funds get reclaimed, but they also stopped responding to any attempts for communication, including phone calls and emails. No updates, no communication, nothing at all. Waste of time. read more

We have sent nine unpaid customer accounts to HF Holdings in the space of a year. We had one customer reach out to pay his debt because he didn't like getting calls from a collection agency. The other eight accounts--nothing at all has happened. I just don't know that the company is doing anything? We haven't had any status updates from HF at all. They were smaller debts so maybe they just don't care to work on the smaller amounts. read more

Total scam. We were doing a collector business with them in 2023. They could not recover any funds from the debtor and charged us $1,500 for lawyer fees. Their lawyer team is a joke, they could not even find the debtor's address to serve him. No legal actions have happened and no refund has been issued. However, they claimed some kind of letter or fraud that we have nothing to do with and refused to process the refund claim with BBB. Do not do business with this company, they will take your money and will find a bogus reason to not refund you. read more

All 5 star reviews claiming they received their funds within weeks is a lie! I was promised from the start the process would take up to 3 months. Over a year and 2 other representatives later the representative with the initials D.C called me a liar via email several times and stated they never make those promises yet they refuse to check their phone records to verify this. This place will delay your collection attempts for years and try to increase their fee for this. I continue to be ignored by this agency for over a year and given a million excuses on why the information I was given from the start was in fact incorrect throughout the 5 representatives. Tons of broken promises. Zero action. Zero updates. All stress! Save yourself the stress and go elsewhere. Best part is this...the owners, presidents and other employees are flooding online reviews with fake reviews. Please read the other reviews! Like many others I have been scammed by HF Holdings. I hired them to collect a debt of around $30,000. Everything seems to be going ok with the collections process until we take the other party to court. Months go by and communication with HF is far and few in between after dozens of emails I've sent them. I finally get an update that HF Holdings claims that their attorney is being sanctioned for this case and there is only $6000 to collect instead of $30,000. What a joke! HF Holdings is a terrible collection agency. I have a debtor who owes me $12,000 for legal services. I engaged HF Holdings to pursue this debt over a year ago, having read some positive reviews. To date, HF has make promises to me, as well as in their advertising and contracts that they have failed to keep. I have been misled into paying $1700 for a lawsuit a year ago. The Complaint theirassigned lawyer drafted and filed was never shown to me for my approval prior to filing and it was sloppily drafted and full of errors. They were unable to find the debtor, who lives in LA, even though their representative had spoken to him by telephone several times at the outset of my regrettable retainer of HF. The flawed Complaint their lawyer drafted was never served, and the promised lawsuit went nowhere. I had been given no information about HF's plan to collect the debt, or to serve the debtor, despite my repeated requests. Even worse than that, my inquiries were either met with half-baked responses or ignored altogether by their unprofessional, unhelpful and often rude in-house lawyer. Plus, they refuse to refund even half the money I paid them for the lawsuit. I finally demanded rescission of my contract with that outfit, and was left with an even bigger financial hole because of the fee they glommed from me and refused to refund even partially. I firmly believe this company is activating fraudulently. I believe I have been scammed. On 06/01/2020, I paid HF Holdings Collection Agency $3,600 to collect a debt value of approximately $47,000 from two debtors. The funds requested by HF Holdings was for the sole purpose of hiring an attorney to file court action and litigate the matter for the debt owed as attorney cost. Since funding the request, I have contacted HF Holdings on many occasions to obtain an update on my case. I received an email from HF Holdings requesting SSNs information from the debtors and an email indicating that a second person would be my point of contact for information. Otherwise, I have not received any evidence that a court action has been filed to proceed with the collection, no progress report or update as to the status of my case. As I am unable to obtain any information or evidence to show that HF Holdings has filed any court action or provide strict proof that any legal action has been taken to recover my debt, I am of the suspicion that I maybe the victim of fraud. I have demanded that the company provide the service I contracted or return my money. To this end they have done nothing and ghosted me. Beware this rip off company. They deserve -1 star read more

This is an absolutely HORRIBLE company. The people that work there are patholigcal liars. I give them a ZERO or NEGATIVE stars. I hired HF Holdings to recover a debt from a past business partner who suckered me out of $6500.00 HF Holdings connived me out of $1500.00 claiming they had good addresses on the scoflaw, which of course you need addresses to serve the defendant. They indeed DID NOT. Every address they claimed to have were addresses I had long before ever hiring HF Holdings. HF Holdings disappeared just like the scoflaw. I had to send numerous emails and make numerous phone calls to get ANY kind of response from them. Now, get this. They FINALLY managed to get a court case 'set up', but of course, no way to serve him. But the dollar amount on the filed case did not match what he owed me. It was $300.00 short. I demanded an answer to that, and the liars at HF claimed that the scoflaw had made a $300.00 payment FOUR MONTHS PRIOR! SO, where is your proof of 'keeping me in the loop'? Not only are you not communicating with me, you are STEALING MY MONEY! This is a completely worthless company, don't hire them! You will lose your time, money and nerves. As soon as I find a lawyer willing to take on a BREACH OF CONTRACT CASE, I will see them in court. read more

Not even 1 star you deserve. Terrible service for 6 months that is a waste of time, money, and effort to make them take care of your claim. They make up invalid excuses and trick you for the service that you don't see. Disrespectful and rude team covering each other. Most high rated reviews you see here can be done in a fake way. I have a tenant that owes me $12k of back rent. I have a judgment against them. I tried to garnish wages and accounts myself and was unsuccessful as they kept switching jobs and the bank accounts I had were closed. I reach out to HF Holding and spoke with Kirk. They explained to me how everything works and it sounded promising. Even if they didn't find anything I'm only paying $150. So I hired them. A few weeks in they came back with good news. They called her multiple times and she told them "I wouldn't dare take her to court" I assume in an attempt to get me to start the next step. They asked for $1,500 to take her to court where she MUST appear and provide property information. I told them that based on what I know she's either not working or getting paid under the table and that she has no bank accounts nor cars or any other property of value. They said she has a job and a study income that is garnishable as well as a bank account with a positive balance. This was around Christmas and they kept pressuring me to do it before the money goes on Christmas gifts. After thinking about it for a few weeks, I, stupidly, decided to go for it and paid $1,500. Throughout this whole thing, I was never provided a status unless I asked and waited. No follow up whatsoever. I had to submit the same documents multiple times. I waited for a few weeks and was told, it'll take 30 days to get everything in place. 30 days pass and I heard nothing. Next time I ask for status, "oh now she has 30 days". 30 days later. "we have everything but she doesn't have any income nor assets" we will keep the case open until we can find something. I tried to get an explanation or an apology and everyone denied it (wasn't me. I never told you that) and of course I don't have it in writing. Waiting for another month or 2 and asked for an update and I got nothing. Empty email back. Thankfully, I used a credit card to pay the $1,500. I called my credit card company and explained the situation (sounded like a common thing) and they refunded me. Next time, I'll make sure I'm protected. I believe the contract with them has a time from after cancelation that they get access to the funds even if I recover them myself. I'll be working on fighting that now. Be careful doing business with them. The people I worked with were not honest. Update: 30-45 day updates were not provided. I did not request updates every week. I was told the employment is there in November and I paid the extra fees in December. I was told nothing to garnish in January which was well before covid-19. Also, you did not provide me with a refund. You stopped answering my emails when I asked what changed between November when I was told my debtor had a job and January when I was told she has nothing and we will just wait. I then reached out to my credit card provider and filed a complaint and disputed the charge. You can make claims about you all you want, but don't make it as if I'm dishonest. You took advantage and I was stupid to believe your company without evidence and that's on me. read more

We own a heavy equipment rental company here in California. Recently we had a customer charge back their card for rental and some damaged they were charged for. We were recommended by our attorney to try a collections agency since the amount was under $10k. We turned to HF Holdings. Their pitch was great and it sounded like a slam dunk to get our money back. Well...we couldn't have been more wrong. I honestly have no idea how this company maintains any kind of relationship with customers. Their level of professionalism is laughable. The so called "collections manager" David is probably one of the laziest, most condescending, and un-educated professionals I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with. Once they get their fee the customer service completely disappears. They don't return call backs or emails in a timely manner at all. From the start they kept coming back to us saying the customer was claiming the charge was unauthorized.(Obviously they will say that in an attempt to justify the charge back) This was the whole reason why we contacted a collections agency in the first place. We sent all supporting documentation like they asked. They had more than enough proof to see that the customer damaged the rentals and accepted the equipment. We went back and forth for 5-6 months on this. We kept getting the run around. They are switching attorneys etc. There literally was zero representation from HF holdings. All they did was act as a mediator between us and the customer. I am writing this review over 8 months later and have had no progress. When we finally started putting some pressure on David to make some progress he blamed us. He said that because the customer was claiming the transaction were "unauthorized" and we submitted the credit card transaction on their behalf(we had a verbal/text authorization to charge a card on file) they would not proceed. Why did you even take the money if you cant provide the service? They investigated our claim very thoroughly prior to accepting it. To make matter worse David actually laughed at me over the phone and make the comment "Are you an attorney"?. Then he hung up on me. Seriously?! How is the guy even employed treating clients like this? lol I am under the impression this agency only looks for the easy collections and when it gets slightly difficult they dismiss the claim. read more

I hired this company to recover money owed to me by a client that refused to pay. In good faith, I paid money ($100) for a skip trace to begin their debt collection process, which the client did not respond to, and thus I paid more for legal support to recoup the fees ($1300). I never received a contract or other documents outlining how it would work (I paid over the phone- big mistake) and as I was told it was urgent to start the collections process, I didn't ask too many questions (my fault). Yet, despite the urgency that was initially communicated, HF Holdings have been very difficult to get updates from- quite unresponsive to emails- and the process has been slow and inefficiently managed, at best-- a scam that isn't proceeding at all at worst (at the moment I can't tell which). For example, in October, after filing a case in June, I was asked if I knew the address of the person they have been apparently going after for me. Since I paid for a skip trace initially, and upgraded the service in June, I'm unsure of what they've been doing, if anything, in the interim. The attitude of the person in charge of my case is also breathtakingly awful- rude, condescending and at times outright aggressive and hostile. I realize this comes with the territory of being a debt collector, but to treat a paying customer this way is shocking. Interestingly, although it has taken days to get responses on status of the case, when I asked for a refund a few days ago for lack of service and updates, I got an immediate response- and it was extremely hostile, including the use of all caps in the response emails. Since asking for a refund, the firm has been super aggressive (not even providing me provenance of documents I requested specifically!) and even "paused" my case (not sure how this is even possible to do so quickly considering how slow it has been to ramp up- how does one even "pause" this kind of work?) while I go through the process of disputing this with my credit card (fair, but still don't understand how this actually works). Bottom line is that I would not recommend using this firm- if not because of how poor the actual service is, because the customer service is incredibly awful and they're extremely rude. read more

Horrible, Horrible, Horrible company and customer service. If I could, I would give them a zero or a negative star. I hired HF Holding to recover debt from a past tenant. I provided as much information as I could and more. After that they disappeared, the same as my debtor did. I had to send numerous emails to get at least one respond from them. When someone finally answered my last email, I found out that the case was permanently closed because the debtor was unresponsive to demands for payment. Of course he is not responding, He owes money... That is why I hired your company... And, no one from HF Holding ever called and explained why the case was closed. There was no communication, no reports and no help. As each day passes, there is less chance to collect your money from the debtor. This company does not care that you will lose money. When I demanded explanations, they became snappy. It is worthless company, do not hire them. You will lose your time, money and nerves. read more
