The building seems huge, with the logo of the shop covering the entire facade, but inside, the store actually only occupies the ground floor, which is dark, cramped, and not particularly inviting. They've tried splitting the place up in sections, but their divisions don't always make sense. Do I find the new Apple TV under their Apple products section, or down by the TV section? Turns out, in the TV section, except they only have the empty boxes there for display purposes, you get the actual product at the counter where you pay. Cameras in the camera section, and batteries (all kinds of batteries) there, too, but memory cards are under computers. Confusing. Service is a mixed bag. Some of the employees seem to genuinely do their best, others seem quite indifferent. Selection of goods is quite good, with most product ranges being fairly well covered. Prices are so-so. There are definitely cheaper options out there, both online and in brick-and-mortar shops, so their supposed commitment to being the cheapest is more of a marketing gimmick than a real policy. I've challenged them on it at one occasion, where I could document that I could find a given product about 15 % cheaper no more than 15 minutes from their shop, proving that they weren't the cheapest option. When I asked them if they were interested in matching the price I'd found, they said that that wasn't anything they were allowed to do. In all fairness, you'll find plenty of places that are more pricey. So all in all, a somewhat depressing shop, with a good selection, a discount feel but not bottom-dollar prices.

Boyfriend and I tried to get him a phone on the weekend at Elgiganten where we joined the crowd of customers waiting for the ONE sales guy to help them. Why doesn't microwave guy come help cellphone guy?? Why isn't there more than one person working the cellphone counter when there are 30 people trying to PAY MONEY to buy a phone!? After 40 minutes we gave up even though we were 2 ticket numbers away from service. Boyfriend then ordered the phone online for pickup in person. He figures if he goes to pickup the phone in the middle of the day on a Tuesday, he'll avoid the crowd and finally have a new phone. But NO, hell does not operate the way you wish it would. Even on a Tuesday, there is a massive crowd and even though boyfriend already ordered and paid for the phone online, he still has to join the 30 other people waiting for the ONE sales guy to pickup his phone. In the end, the phone is coming by post because neither of us can bear the thought of having to enter that store again. Maybe it's just this store, and maybe it's just the cellphone area, but it's a soul-sucking, life-draining waste of time =(

Went to their website, found the part number, and went to the store. I walked around the shop but didn't see it on the shelves, so I took a number and waited. Even on a really busy weekend the line moved fast. I showed the staff the part number I wanted, and he found it for me among their "massive wall with drawers full of tiny parts" at the back of the store. And just to make sure I was getting the right part, the staff even checked it against my antena which I brought with me. So 15 minutes and 15 kr later, I leave satisfied that at least I did one productive thing that day and solved the stereo problem.

There's also some regular (consumer) electronics like power taps, plug adapters, phone chargers, batteries, etc. I saw many kits and components. In the back is a full wall of discrete components, 7400 series logic chips, etc. There are Arduino parts and projects as well. They even have a clearance table! We were scammed by overzealous store assistant…read more We were scammed! not by the company but by an overzealous store assistant wanting to meet her monthly sales quota. We are expats who are already on our way out of the country. Our son lost his phone last month and we wanted to replace it for him, which took us to our usual electronics store Elgiganten. This one is located at Fields. The store assistant sold us a new mobile plan and said that we could get a discount on the phone if we port our mobile plan. I clarified with her that a discount is welcome but I hope there is no binding since we will be here only for a month after the plan activates. She categorically assured us that there is none and that if there were one we could go back to the store to return the phone. We ended up porting not one (which would have been good for the discount of 100 kr) but two numbers. Also, she said that our sim cards will be couriered to our homes, which incidentally never came. Now at Elgiganten, we have had a great experience till then, buying loads of stuff, so we quickly trusted the word of the store assistant, without asking to put this in writing!! The plan was to start on 1-Jun-23 and I logged into CBB portal a couple of days earlier to update my credit card info for billing. This is when I realized that there was a binding, on both numbers. Clearly, this was not what we had agreed. Of course, disturbed by the fact I went back to the store and luckily found the same store assistant. She flatly refused that she had committed to any such thing. There was no way to prove that she had said that. My requests fell on deaf ears. I tried the call center and the new mobile company but nothing worked. I also tried another store, where I interestingly found out that she had worked previously and her coworkers described her stint there as 'Unfortunate'. We have loved Denmark over our 1-year stay, and also loved the experience of shopping at Elgiganten, except for this scam artist that we found out right before we were to leave. She passed us a 100 Kr discount, on a 1600 Kr phone, which now will cost us 3300 Kr, with the unexpected payout that we will need to make. The thing is, they had so little stock that I had to buy the display model. Maybe because in September all the students were in to buy microwaves? But I went back to them and they offered to call the manufacturer and have them send me the missing part. I'm super happy with their quick and friendly service. Although I love my apple products but I have to say this place does not make me feel welcoming as its not the store or products, but the staff seemed very quite & least interested.
