Easily the best place in west Texas to for high end audio!…read moreI stop by when I'm Lubbock & always find Kurt & the guys to help me with whatever I need in the way of quality audio equipment. I've been going there for almost 30 years & always find way more than I need!

If you are reading this review, you may find it odd that someone who has not yet purchased anything…read morefrom a company would give it a five-star review. Let me explain. I am a non-techie who bought a turntable and receiver elsewhere and could not get them to work together. I was concerned that the turntable (bought used) was defective. So, I called The Soundwave to see if they could fix my turntable--if needed. I talked to Kurt Ellsasser (store manager), explaining my frustration and lack of audio expertise. Kurt said, "Just bring it out and let me hook it up to see if it works--at no charge." I was stunned, since many places charge a flat $75 for an evaluation. So, I took the turntable to The Soundwave, met Kurt, and left it with him. A little later he called me and gave me the good news that it worked just fine. So, today I went to pick up my turntable. Well, I did much more than that! Kurt spent about an hour showing me how to hookup the turntable to the receiver. He also showed me how to correctly use my turntable. All this service was at no cost! Now, folks, if The Soundwave provides this kind of service for a guy who basically comes in off the street needing some help with his stereo equipment, just think how much more they will do for their paying customers! Thank you Kurt, and thank you Soundwave! Your kindness has earned my future customer loyalty.

Before you get any work done, get a quote in writing first! My install price magically doubled…read moreafter I dropped off the truck for some reason that they could only vaguely describe. The guy was surprised when I asked for clarification as to why my bill had increased so much and immediately became defensive. This told me that I might have been onto something, so I kept asking questions. Eventually a second guy (perhaps a manager) gave me the 'we could discount this because...' to get the price back where it began. I was annoyed but glad that I asked questions.

I had a Kenwood head unit installed summer of 2010 that worked for the most part flawlessly. On 25-Aug-12 a guy running a red light at 34th & Q hit me. I was lucky but my 2002 Camry was totaled. I asked the guys at Vision to go out to the wrecking yard and remove my Kenwood and replace it with the factory unit. After buying a 2005 Camry the next week I took it up to Vision Auto to have my Kenwood re-installed in my 2005 Camry XLS. When I went and picked it up it made a loud whine. So I asked what was up and was told to bring it back the next day, which I did. This time when I picked up the whine was only heard when the lights came on!!!!! When I asked about the still unfixed whine I was told that that was the best they could do. I have been a business owner back in the 80's and 90's of three companies that employed 30+ employees. Stuff like what happened at Vision starts with BAD MANAGEMENT from the top down. Times of integrity and when your word meant something are gone. At least at Vision Auto.

The single solitary reason why I gave you more than one star is because the initial sales and…read moreservice was good. Mo set us up, and he was great. Your technical support, on the other hand, is trash. I had an appointment today for y'all to come fix my doorbell camera. I was given an 8AM-Noon time window. I work nights. I DON'T do 8AM, but I wanted this fixed, so I scheduled it. Got up at 8AM and by 11:40, nobody had shown up. That's when I got on live chat and started getting canned answers like "the technician has been dispatched", and telling me the technician is in my area and should be contacting me soon. What a load of crap. I was told I could receive a call from a supervisor "in a couple of minutes". That didn't happen. I finally had to call and talk to a live supervisor, who proceeded to inform me that the tech assigned my work order WAS OUT OF TOWN DOING AN INSTALL!!!!! I asked if my order could be transferred to a tech who's actually in town, and was told NO. You mean to tell me that, in a city of nearly 250,000 people, there is not ONE single tech that can jump on this and make it right?!?!?!?! I've lost a lot of respect for Vivint, and it's going to take more than a damn $42 credit to get that back. You have to earn it. All I proceeded to get from that supervisor was the token apology, which I got sick of hearing, and an offer to reschedule. Today was the best day for me, and that's why I scheduled it for TODAY!!!!! I held up my end of the bargain and got my butt up at 8AM for this, and wasted the next 5 hours, only to be shown that my time MEANS NOTHING!!!!!! I told that supervisor that it appears Vivint had gone the way of AT&T and others. Good sales and service at the time of sale, but absolute CRAP going forward. I don't really want to do business with Vivint anymore, but I feel like I'm stuck. There has to be someone out there who cares about their customers months and years down the road. There just has to be. Expecting me to be available in a time window, only to have y'all blow it off: NOT COOL!!!!!! Lying to me and telling me the tech is in the area and will be contacting me soon: NOT COOL!!!!! Seemingly not getting a phone call from anyone at Vivint because they really want to solve an issue: NOT COOL!!!!!! Wanting YOU to call them, wanting YOU to log on to their website, wanting YOU to initiate anything at this point: NOT COOL!!!!!! Acting like you don't really care whether or not you have my business: NOT COOL, but LOUD AND CLEAR!!!!! I'm soooooo very close to telling y'all to come get your equipment and buzz off. Just once, I want to see a company bend over backwards in the name of customer satisfaction. JUST ONCE!!!!!!!!!!

If you are considering Vivint please save yourself the headache and money and just don't! There is…read morea reason you see all the bad reviews following this one, the company is poorly ran, the customer service is useless, and you will end up paying thousands to try and get out of a long term contract. Thus company is truly abysmal and they should not be able to operate the way they do. So PLEASE heed mine and all of the other warnings on here and just use a company without contracts like Ring or SimplySafe and save yourself the time and money. Honestly they have more and better products anyways.
