After hitting nearly every other men's retailer in the Summit and finding nothing but gear with massive logos across the chest, I stopped in at this place. I was immediately greeted by the staff and was asked if I needed help. The place truly looks like a place where people who spend time in the outdoors shop, so I was kind of happy to be there. After looking around for a few minutes I found a rack with some awesome bamboo hoodies from a company called Free Fly. I'd never heard of the company, but I immediately thought it was one of the most comfortable pieces of clothing I've ever felt. It was reasonably priced so I bought it, and wore it pretty much the entire time I was in Birmingham. Perhaps an even higher testament to the quality of the product was this: as soon as I flew home my wife felt the hoodie, and immediately claimed it as her own. I can't wait to come back to Birmingham and visit this place a) because it's a pretty cool store, and b) so I can buy a hoodie of my own.

I never liked the bedazzled "GUESS" plastered on the women's shirts, however, I do enjoy their jeans. Guess has actually stepped it up over the years with their selection. Someone in corporate is trying to cater to more than one or two select groups and they are clearly tired of being several years behind. Prices are a bit high, but not have a hand if you are considering quality clothing. I did see a few flannel shirts that I liked with a roughly fifty dollar price tag. Service was relatively good, they allow you to wander and not overly hover over you. Overall a positive experience oh, now you just have to decide if I want that fifty dollar flannel shirt.

So when we plotted a visit to the former, we knew we wanted to visit the latter. As it turns out, this is technically a "booth" for Irondale Pickers. But it is full store sized, they have their own store front, and their own POS system. So I am going to treat them like a real store and give them a review. You have probably seen my review of other closeout stores. They are very often hit or miss with items and sometimes the products seem old or dirty. This place feels like they strictly get overstock and everything is new and in the package. After talking to the owners, they get majority of their stuff from Home Depot... which is the kind of stuff I like buying!! But they also get some from other stores too. So it isn't all Home Improvement. My wife bought a pairs of H&M towels for $1 a piece! They didn't have anything tool wise that I am in the market for. But you can bet that I will be back frequently to see when they do. I'm a little sad to write this review and let other people in on the secret. But I also want this to stick around so I can get years of tools at a great price! Awesome little spot to visit.
