Been playing this course for years. Spent the last week playing everyday, but the cracks started to show. Pro shop is all clothes and no equipment. Literally told me to go to the PGA Superstore. Cost has gone up significantly but the clubhouse doesn't serve breakfast. Drink cart was barely stocked. Supposedly they are going private, but I can imagine anyone paying private fees to play this course. Lastly the jerk worming the bag drop today was rude AF. Paid $30 for two lemonades some onion rings. This place sucks now. read more

This was the second course we played in the area and we really liked it. We were paired with a couple from Tennessee and they were great company. We teed off a bit later than our afternoon tee time but I liked how the staff was working hard to speed things up. We prefer to play fast and it felt a little slow, yet we played 18 holes in just a titch over 4 hours. The course was in great shape. Tee boxes were well kept. Fairways in good condition. Greens smooth and true. Water is on the course but not a major factor on most holes. There are a few large 'sand', well really "shell', traps that can factor into your strategy. The booklet they gave us upon checking in was helpful to understanding yardage. The staff was very helpful and welcoming. Bag drop off areas made drop off and pick up easy. There was no cart service on the course, but easy to get some refreshments at the turn. Very nice experience. We will be back. read more

I've spent money at this course for 10 years. Starters and cart guys are awesome. The club manager is a totally incompetent person for dealing with customers. He's more intent on hearing his own voice and getting the last word in, then he is to listening to THE CUSTOMER. I pity any employee that has to work for this guy. In 40 years of golfing I've never dealt with a more rude, insulting "person in charge". Please send this guy to a customer relations course and remind him he's working at Hibiscus....not Augusta. read more

I've been to this club a few times lately to use the driving range, and putting green. I'm not a big fan of hitting off of artificial turf mats, but it's still a good deal for Naples. The putting green is always great, with plenty of pin positions to practice the short game. Today, I played my first round here in many years. My buddy and I were equally impressed with the condition and playability of this course. The grounds are very well maintained and attractive for this public course. It may not measure up to one of the private clubs around, but for the greens fees this summer, I felt it was well worth the money and we enjoyed the round. Don't ask about how well we played, because if that mattered, this would be a very unfair, 1-star review. The staff was very helpful, friendly and welcoming all around. They also offer online booking, and different membership levels as well. Be advised, that when you make a tee time either online or by calling, you'll have to give them a credit card to hold the reservation, but you can pay cash when you check in. There is a 24 hour cancellation policy as well, which I think is fair. This course has been a classic in Naples for many years, and I'm very glad to see that Hibiscus is still thriving in a very competitive market. I will be back for another round soon, and hopefully shave a dozen strokes off my game. read more

After a great early lunch at the Club House, we enjoyed 18 holes on this well maintained course! For a course that has been around for a while, very impressed with course conditions and lots of friendly staff taking care of you. Not all the way up there as a 5-star course but definitely well worth the visit. This was my first time playing this course but will definitely play again, and use the Restaurant, as it is less than 15 minutes from my house. DO NOT PLAY THIS SORRY EXCUSE OF A GOLF COURSE!!! The Naples area had a major rainstorm Saturday night. Hibiscus GC was "cart path only" and many areas on the golf course were under water. The T boxes were mostly green sand and awful. Fairways were filled with water, debris from all the rain, and sand traps unplayable. The greens were the slowest, worst ever. Well, came back for a second 9 holes and yesterday a third. Pleased to have been able to enjoy the back nine, loved it. The best part was the seamless integration of my twosome to family members that met us after playing their front nine. Gold shop staff knew exactly we were expected, arranged for cart and rental clubs ready to go. All we had to do was enjoy the atmosphere and wait for family to drive by clubhouse and away we went, perfect. Bag drop staff helpful and polite. Dinner in Mulligans. My sons and I played as a threesome. The course was in fair shape, and the greens were pretty good. The pace of play was slow which would normally irritate me, but my sons are beginners and we weren't moving very fast anyhow so the pace of play suited us just fine. The staff was very friendly and treated us well. We did rent clubs. They were supposed to charge us $20 each to rent clubs for 9 holes, however they instead charged us the 18 hole rate of $35. I went to the pro shop after hour round but they were closed. I called the next day regarding the pricing discrepancy figuring that I would have to drive back to the course to get a credit on my card. Nope, they looked up the transaction, credited my card and apologized for the mistake. Excellent customer service. Very pleased with my experience. read more

This was probably the worst course I've play in Florida. It was in terrible condition. Weeds and wear of play made the fairway barely a reward. My colleagues only wanted to play nine, but were forced to pay for 18 holes as they do not have 9 hole teetimes in the morning. I didn't even want to finish the 18 holes and left after 9. There are a lot of better options for maybe $5 more. read more

Played at Hibiscus this morning. Paid almost $100/each to play on a goat path. Paid $35/each for rental clubs that were so old that the putter grip was dry rotting. I think what frustrates me most about the review that I am about to write is that none of this need have happened. It bespeaks poor management, inconsistent maintenance of simple things like the answering machine, etc. Poor monitoring of groups and tee times, pace of play, I could go on... We called and got a recording that said that the seasons were changing and that the green fees starting on 1 Nov were going to $35. Fine. We showed up at 8:00 for an 8:48 tee time, time enough to practice a bit before the round. First pothole: the lady charged us $65 for the round. We told her about the answering machine recording. She walked back to talk to the manager. She returned, "Sorry the rate quoted on that recording was incorrect. The manager is willing to let you play for $55." After we had already unloaded out bags, etc and were getting ready to head to the range. Okay, whatever. Second pothole: The range only had mats and a 200yd limit. Really? Third pothole: We were scheduled for an 8:48 teetime. There was a group of 9 in front of us, a group that originally only been six, but had three added to it at the last minute. So we waited for them...seventeen minutes. We finally teed off at 9:08. And were backed up throughout the round. Not a marshal in sight. The course is pretty and well kept. Thank goodness. But there was not a lot of good customer service going on this morning. Highly disappointed. Our foursome is traveling together on business (active duty military) and we like to play a round every now and then. We got NO TLC from the office staff at Hibiscus. It's a pretty place to play...but I don't think we'll be back. And you had best think twice about playing here. There are too many other nice places to play in Naples. read more

Played with wife Thursday. Nice people/service. Course ok. 1/2 quality between resort and typical muni. Fairways all crabgrass and bald but greens nice and true. Interesting layout. Problem is schockingly slow pace of play. Ended up walking off after 6 holes/2 hours. Impossible to enjoy yourself when waiting 10-15 min for every shot. Not sure what alternatives there are. Front 9 was pretty good. - Subtle greens - $60 reasonable by Naples standards. Most of staff was polite, professional and friendly. So why 1 star you ask; AL THE STARTER is a tool. I arrived 45 minutes early hoping to get a quick snack. Not possible no quick snackbar option. No biggy - went out to starter and asked AL if he could possibly pair me a little early. Quick dismissive "no way" Sometimes thats how it goes but in this case anything but. I stood on that putting green and watched I kid you not. 3some, 4some, A friggin 2some, 3some go out. All the while BIG AL just ignoring the tee box and me - Too busy loudly spouting Trump political crap and bad mouthing MASS where he apparently was forced to live for 32 years. A captive I guess. Hey Al - A. NO ONE wants to hear anyone pontificate on politics in 2017 - Jesus catch up. B I'm from MASS - so screw you. But I digress. So now 10:15 I should be on the box - guess what - no pairing. ( golfnow booking) So out goes another 4some. Honestly , I coulda been on the 5th/6th hole by now. Finally Big Al pairs me with a 3some but (wait for it) I find out at the turn are only playing nine. We visited Naples for golf. My wife and I are avid golfers. The staff is organized and polite, but the golf course is in need of a lot of work. They have a huge demand, over 220 players a day with an average green fee of $100 and $8 for a small bucket of balls. Hibiscus is very successful. The fairways, rough, traps and greens were in poor condition. I played elsewhere in Naples and found the same conditions. The reputation for public golf courses in Naples is bad. A five hour round on a poorly maintained golf course is ridiculous. Spend some money and improve your course. read more

Saw multiple ads in local publications regarding the restaurant and happy hour. So my wife and I stopped by today at 2:00pm. We sat at a high top table in front of the bar. There were two waitresses sitting at a table that appeared to be wrapping silverware in napkins. After 10-mins the barmaid comes over and asks what we want to drink. I ask what the happy hour specials are, she said it's easier if I get you a menu, she drops a menu off, then goes back behind the bar and proceeds to BS with the male bartender, four patrons sitting at the bar, after another 10-mins my wife and I left and went to Tin City to have lunch. I'm giving this two stars. One for the friendly folks at check in and the other for the greens that were consistent and in good shape albeit a bit slow. Can't say much for the fairways, they have seen better days. The worst thing was the a shade over 5 hour round. On one hole on the front nine we had four groups. They did have a ranger but it was so bad he couldn't do much if in fact he even tried. There aren't a lot of public courses in Naples, but for about the same price you will be much happier at either Arrowhead or Valencia, two far better courses all around. read more

This was not a nice experience. The course itself is pretty, but that's more Florida than the course. Even before play, we purchased two buckets of range balls for before our tee time. When we got outside, the range mats were entirely full. The desk didn't mention anything about high traffic on the range, despite our small amount of time for warm-up. On the course? Divots all over the fairway and old holes were practically tripping hazards on the greens. We let a twosome play through, but the ranger hounded us the whole front 9 for going too slowly. The pace of play is stated at 4:10, and our foursome kept that perfectly. The pressure ruined the whole experience, and the surly service certainly didn't help. We will not be returning. read more

The apology from Mike S seems hollow, I've seen other reviews about slow play and Mike S's reply is always the same. Don't be sorry, do something to correct the situation. Have your rangers enforceyour 4 hour10 minute rounds. Give 9 hole rain checks to disappointed golfers. The course has plenty of options to correct this situation instead of offering weak apologies. Your online reputation will be taking a major hit if you don't do something tangible to correct this site. You have my contact info from my booking. Make some changes, train your staff better enforce your policies and then advertise how you will fix your slow play. I will never recommend your course to anyone in the area until some changes take place. read more

Hidden public gem, great course with awesome greens. The greens aren't as fast as some course in the area but they perfectly maintained as is.most of the course. This was the 3rd course I played with my son and father during a golf vacation in Naples. My son and I are both left-handed, so we shared our mid-irons and packed separate woods, putters, and wedges into a single bag that we checked with the airline. Of the 3 courses we played, Hibiscus was the only one that complained about my son and I playing from a single bag, and they charged us $10 to rent an empty bag. Whatever. Then we saw the starter who decided to add a single to our threesome before we started. No problem, we had played another course the day before, and they did the same. The BIG problem was that we were the ONLY foursome at Hibiscus around our 9:45am tee-time. Every other group seemed to be twosomes. You can imagine how this worked out. We were constantly holding up the group behind us and the course ranger was constantly hounding us to speed up. Really??? With respect to the course, the houses around the course are very run down compared to other areas, the fairways had a lot of crab grass, and the greens were borderline for Naples. The front desk people were polite, but I would not recommend this course. There are better alternatives in Naples. read more
