I have found the staff friendly, polite, efficient and very helpful, they have ordered items in for me for my elderly mother (including items they wouldn't normally carry) with no problems. The only negative is cosmetic supplies tend to be low but this obviously reflects the needs of the clientele. The waiting time for prescriptions is pretty minimal and I don't think making negative comments about staff or recommending other places is fair to be honest. I believe we should be supportive of all and any local businesses, we would be sadly lost without them.

They offer really good advice and I usually go in here before I decide to visit the doctor. A perfect example was last month when I had a really sore throat. They now offer a "Sore Throat Test and Treat Service" so they took a swab from my throat and were able to tell me in a few minutes what the cause was. As it was not bacterial (Strep Throat) they told me i could treat it with over the counter medicines. If it had been Strep Throat they would have sent me to my doctor to get antibiotics. It only cost me €7.50 and saved me the time and expense of visiting my doctor. On many occasions they have given me really helpful advice about the medicines I was taking and they are very friendly and approachable.

The last time this happened was with last months script. With the result I had to go back and request the missing item again. Yesterday when my wife collected my repeat prescription she was told I needed a new prescription for next month. I didn't - again they had to be chased up later the same day to check the script. There was in fact another month left on the script. The staff don't appear to be tuned in. I have collected the script and will not be using McCabes in future for any prescriptions as it is getting beyond a joke. Last year I was given my medication with another persons name and address on the package. The name was the same, but address completely different. They don't appear to have any controls in place. AVOID.
