That led me to contact another contractor and thats how I found out about the issues. I was nice enough to still allow them to keep the money in full and asked for a refund of my remaining money. They made up some 4% fee to take off my refund even after I paid for the horrible work. Do your research before hiring anyone! They also adjusted my front door and did not reinstall the trim correctly. It looks horrible!

I showed him what was happening and he turned a knob on the garage motor. The garage door went down. It took a week for them to send the$125 bill. The garage door was again stuck. We thought we would enjoy it but didn't realize just how nice it was really going to be. The crew was professional and wasted no time in getting to it. In addition to the garage they also installed a new floor in our screened porch. That turned out equally nice. Both projects were so nice we wished we had done this years ago. This was a 3 day project and even though we are 100 miles or so away we felt the cost was well worth it. Give them a try - you will not regret it! Called E&C for a quote and they arrived on time when promised. Bid was provided quickly and…read moreaccepted. They then told me when they would be onsite to do the job (siding). They arrived that morning exactly when they said... which is not typical for many contractors. The work was excellent. They kept in communication with me and told me about some problem areas that were discovered during removal of the old siding. They could have just covered these areas up and moved on, but they wanted it repaired right, so they cut out the old wood, installed some new sheathing, and then sealed all the windows properly with Vycor (self sealing tape). They installed house wrap and then the siding the way it should have been done the first time. Based upon their attention to detail it is quite clear this siding job will last for decades. Very pleased with the quality of work and the entire experience. Even their cleanup was superb - they used tarps to catch debris and even went over the entire area with a magnetic sweeper to pick up any dropped nails. Cannot say enough about these guys - they work hard and deliver a quality result. E&C is now on my short list of contractors that I trust and use time and time again. My siding is now better than new and I hope I don't need a new roof anytime soon, but if the next big hail storm hits I can promise you I'll be contacting E&C without a doubt. Well done guys. I would call to let him know and i would go straight to voice mail. atleast 6 times. Ended up sending subcontractors to come do it. Did not communicate with them. Told them he was on the way to give them money but never showed. finally told them he told me to pay them directly. News to me, that put me in a very bad spot. Told me the plumber said they were going to be here the next day but he hadn't even called them. I ended up having to call and cordinate everything. everything was susposed to be finished by July 1st. still isn't done because he didn't tell the subcontractors to prep for a exhaust fan. The last time I spoke to him was several weeks ago when he said he was on the way here. Never showed up and I'm going straight to voice mail. No one has been paid for this job by him, I have had to pay the subcontractors myself. it isn't right to expect people to be hours away from home working and not be getting paid.
