First time using this company. Phone calls were returned very promptly. Working with Robert was…read morepleasant; he explained the process in depth and was able to show me multiple photos of projects he completed in the past. Our biggest obstacle was the weather. It was difficult for him to find enough dry days in a row to complete the staining of our deck. His crew arrived on time and were very polite and pleasant. Two workers arrived at 1:30 pm and began prepping the deck (it had been pressure washed a couple weeks prior); more workers (2 or 3) arrived about 45 minutes later. By 4:30 pm they were done...which is where my concern came in. We have a pretty big deck, with a lattice covered arbor, and I am not convinced they applied two coats (as promised) in such a short time. When they arrived, I questioned the information Robert had given me saying that both coats would be applied in the same day, with minimal drying time in between coats. The worker confirmed this, saying the product was a "wet coat" product. When I checked the information on the back of the can they left for touch ups, the directions indicated you could re-coat in two hours. The size of our deck, combined with the minimal amount of time the workers were on site, makes me doubt that the entire deck received two coats, as contracted. I did contact them to discuss and was told that yes, they did do two coats on the whole deck. I was told that their experience allows them to complete a project of this size in such a limited amount of time. The finished product looks good, however there are some areas that are shinier than others. Also, the deck overall has a sticky feel when you walk on it. I was told this should go away in a few weeks to months, but to contact them for resolution if it does not. My overall experience allows me to recommend this company. I would, however, watch the workers carefully to make sure the project is completed as contracted.

Today is that day, the appointment was for 30 minutes ago and there has not been any call or contact from this company. When you call the company main number you NEVER get an actual person answering the phone. We have delayed starting this project by a solid two months waiting to get a few estimates and this company was to be the last that we were considering. I can tell you that based on the fact that you can never reach and actual PERSON when you call them, their non-responsiveness to messages left and NOT SHOWING UP FOR A SCHEDULED APPOINTMENT I would NEVER consider doing business with Deck Masters. Give your money to a place that deserves it and shows you that customers matter and that they want your business.

Chris Feidler worked on our behalf to obtain the materials for our deck and keep us informed despite the many setbacks caused by Covid on the supply chain. He worked hard on our behalf and honored our contract, sometimes at his own expense. The end result is beautiful. We LOVE our new deck, and we appreciate the hard work of Chris and his builders to complete our project and ensure our satisfaction. Deck Masters went the extra mile to make sure we were happy with our Trex deck. We are so glad that we chose to work with Deck Masters.

I live in a very well to do neighborhood and unfortunately, these guys will look up house values and charge accordingly so while some neighborhoods will get $10k decks, not mine. If I was living in DC suburbs then they'd charge us $50k for the deck. I got the PVC Aztek material with metal posts. The guys did the job in 2 days. I was worried when I saw scuffs on my new deck the day after install, but Luke came to buff them out. With Aztek, you have to be very careful about scratching the deck with furniture so I've yet to put anything on my deck! We rarely eat out there anyways. We're not outdoorsy people.

In both solidity of structure and also presentation. The workers were pleasant, tidy, cleaned up each day, and assisted working through some unknowns that cropped up. I used high quality lighting, and porch rail which included a flat top for drinks, and also LED lighted from underneath. I am not prone to writing reviews, generally, but where work is especially good it should be acknowledged so their business can expand. The design and quote phase introduced some new ideas to my intentions. Kevin, MIcah, and Jose did a great job on-site. Based on the back deck/porch experience I am considering a front porch overhaul as well.

The three laborers Rick sends out to do the jobs are courteous and work hard but have very little experience and need better guidance. This results in poor craftsmanship and disorganization on the job site. Most important to mention, THE OWNER abandoned our project, sent back our remaining orders and kept the money leaving us with a project not even half complete and poorly constructed anyway. Finding windows for the aluminum frame is difficult without knowing the name of the company he orders from, and regular replacement windows will not work without special engineering for attachment. He did leave me with a bunch of vinyl siding that did not go up that is taking up our garage space and the siding that did go up, will have to come down because water leaks right down through the inside wall and to the floor. They have no idea how to make it stop leaking and I suppose that is a major reason why they abandoned the project, NOT because I called you a "j*ck*$$" Rick, like you claim is your reason. Now, Rick will not even answer our calls. This is not a joke, and these are only some of the issues. Go to ANY other contractor than Machose Contracting. He is not even honest. You know who this is Rick! PS. I am required to click at least one star, or the review won't seem to post. Obviously, I give no stars. I give this : (
