The family and I came here on a Sunday and was seated immediately. The server Will, was awesome had great recommendations and humor. The menu is pretty decent, with specialty burgers, oysters, shrimp and even pasta's. My wife had a prickly pear drink which she says we very tasty. Overall not a bad place and the food and staff was super friendly. Will be back to try one of the specialty burgers. The wings were really good. My family ate here for my niece's 7th birthday lunch on July 23rd. We enjoyed our experience very much. Our server Debuion was a delight and very attentive. She kept us laughing and by the end of the meal my 3 little nieces were running up to give her goodbye hugs. She also interacted with my brother who has autism and is non-verbal. She spoke directly to him and made him feel like he was part of things; you wouldn't believe how rare that can be! We've been to this location twice in the past three years. Both times we've had terrible service. On our recent visit, one waitress took our drink order/delivered our drinks and then disappeared. Another waitress showed up and took our app order and then completely abandoned our table. 20 minutes later I flagged down the manager. He was very kind and produced a waitress to take our order and came with our appetizer as well. It had clearly been languishing under the heat lamp for some time, but he comped it so it is what it is. The third waitress was actually very good, but the food still took forever. Our plan for a quick dinner turned into close to two hours. Oh well. My teenager was the first to point out that the service is probably so slow because the waitresses seemed to be doing a lot of standing around and talking rather than actually working. Went here for dinner during a recent visit to our Son and Daughter-in-law's house. It looks like a sports bar, and would be a great place to watch a game, but the dining experience was pretty average. For appetizers, we tried the chips n salsa, and the pretzel bites, both of which are very good. For the entree, my wife had buffalo chicken tacos. Think of a half chicken breast or very large chicken finger, inside a taco shell. It wasn't diced or cut up or anything, so a little tough to eat, but she said the flavor was good. I had the fried grouper, which was not good at all. The greasy breading was completely falling off the pieces of fish (it wasn't even a whole piece of fish....but rather a number of smaller pieces), and it was a mess to try to eat. All that would have been okay if it had a good taste. But it didn't. The steak fries were very good....all 10 of them. Service was okay, but the wait time for the food was pretty slow. We found Matt! Matty has always been a fantastic server the last place is at a loss for a golden guy like him! As we got in it was the typical Hickory Tavern that we had been to twice before and weren't really too enthusiastic about it being the same...waited 15 minutes for someone to acknowledge us after we were seated and after contemplating leaving since we had been waiting so long CJ who ended up being our server had saw how upset we were and came over as soon as he caught eye contact with me and asked us if everything was okay. We asked for Matt and ordered but he didn't know who Matt was. Our food arrived 22 minutes later which is pretty good time so there obviously were some training or replacements in the kitchen. Matt sported is and came over and that just made the whole experience that much better. Now that I know for a fact he works here we will be back and will be looking forward to sit in his section. I already told several of my colleagues and they are all looking for the best server in rock hill! This place has been has been up and down with me for a while but more time good than bad. This trip however was one of my worst to date. Not crowded at all on this trip service was very slow. Waiter was more worried about avoid us and getting away as fast as possible. Was quick for drinks and food after that good luck seeing him or having him check up on us. It took over 40 minutes to get a burger and 2 salads which by the way we never heard anything from the waiter. Chips were way over cooked for me personally as well as the burger but waiting so long to get it and with such a hard time getting the waiter back I felt with it. Menu is relatively expansive and has a tendency to be overpriced, but the food is great, so that makes the pricing more forgiveable in my opinion because the quality and consistency are certainly there. Very disappointed with our 2 go order for cob chicken tender salad. last time we ate at Hickory Tavern in Rock Hill ordered the same thing but decided to do chicken tender cob take out thinking it can't be bad 2 times in a row. The first time I came here, it was very good.. the second time I came here with my sister and husband, not so much. The food (for 2 salads and a deli meat style sandwich) took over 30 minutes to get out to us! On top of that, they messed up the orders, and the service was a bit slow. The bartenders, pardon my lack of remembering names, are what made this visit successful. They were very customer focused, that makes a big difference. I had an issue with cold sweet potato fries that came out with my order. They sent them back and expedited a new piping hot fresh order. That's what I'm talking about! The wings were okay. We are a group of 21 people in from Miami visiting rock Hill and we came in for dinner and OMG they were able to seat us all at one giant table. Waiters and waitresses were on top of things,they were very attentive and courteous.I highly recommend the strawberry lemon drop martini very good. I'm not a beer drinker but others in the party were they have an excellent assortment of beers.Menu had a little something for everybody. Our party was very happy with all of their choices too many to name. We definitely will come again when visiting in the area. I only gave it four stars because I couldn't sample the entire menu. Rock Hill, SC location - 05 August 2022 -- We were seated quickly (at a table -- the hostess said she didn't have any menus -- which seemed a little odd because the place wasn't full); we sat there waiting for a server to take our drink order, after a period of time (7 or 8-minutes maybe? When it hit me that we'd been sitting there for a while), I started the stopwatch on my phone. We decided we'd give them 5 (more) minutes to at least acknowledge us before we walked-out. Seven minutes later (on the stopwatch), we got-up and walked-out. I don't understand how they can allow customers to sit there for that long without even acknowledging them?
