Basic diner type restaurant. The service was very good snd they made an effort to interact with the customers. Got the smothered breakfast burrito and it was just ok in my opinion. They will split the burrito onto two plates so that is a nice touch. The coffee is very basic. The blue plate special sounded like a good value for the money. I am a big fan of homey, one off diners and this place fits that bill! My daughter and I went in on a Saturday morning and had to wait a few minutes for a table so we knew it must be good. We got simple breakfasts. Homemade cinnamon roll was amazing. My daughter loved the "pancake cereal" - so genius! Prices were reasonable and the coffee was great. This definitely had a homey feel - servers knew most of the clientele by first name, Grandma was working the register... very small town, like you'd gone back in time. Lovely vibe. The first morning in Longmont, CO (a Monday morning), I stopped in at the Hidden Cafe for breakfast. I ordered their scramble - which is "Mexicanified" - topped with a salsa/gravy or sorts. It was really good! It was served with a side of potatoes and a flour tortilla - which I did not touch as I am trying to reduce carbs. Moon's Roll Reviews Hello I'm Moon and this is the start of my cinnamon roll reviews. I'm going to get straight to the point and be honest. Overall roll review: 9.8/10 These are the best cinnamon rolls in Longmont and I do not take this statement lightly. First off, the ratio of cinnamon to dough was almost perfect which is something I've noticed many businesses get wrong. Second, the roll is cooked amazingly. The center is a bit gooey but not enough for it to taste like uncooked dough. The outer layers have a slight crisp but not enough to crumble and taste gross. Lastly, there is only one thing that can truly complete a good cinnamon roll: Cream cheese frosting. Cream cheese frosting can either make or break a cinnamon roll. Funny enough, the first time I had a cinnamon roll at hidden cafe it had a bland sugar glaze. I visited a few months later and they had replaced the glaze with cream cheese frosting which made me very happy. The only thing is that the frosting was a little too melted which I know can be hard because it melts so easily. Honestly, I did NOT expect this place to pop off this much but it really did. My wife and I were visiting from out of town and needed breakfast. We tried another place first but the wait was too long, so we found the Hidden Cafe next. What a great find! It's not fancy, but the food was very good. The staff was friendly and the cafe has a fun, family owned business atmosphere, literally - I heard the servers call the maitre d' mom or grandma multiple times! My wife and I are both on keto, and they were very helpful and willing to substitute the toast and potatoes for cottage cheese and a tomato. We both ordered a build your own 3-egg omelette. Looking for some fantastic local flavor this is it! While the menu is diverse and has many healthy options on it everyone in the place was ordering the chicken fried steak with 1/2 green chili and 1/2 white gravy so I gave in and tried it. Oh my goodness this was amazing. It came with two eggs, a biscuit and potatoes. This was more than I could eat but I ate every bit of the Chicken Fried Steak. I had a late breakfast on a weekday with my girlfriend. The seating area is about a dozen tables, and there was a healthy number of locals present. The food was good, and the help was friendly enough. Strains of Todd Rundgren eminated from the kitchen, barely audible. I had a traditional american breakfast off the menu, my girlfriend ordered a breakfast burrito and applied lots of hot sauce from a collection of over a dozen types that were brought to the table. We were both satisfied. Potion size was adequate, but not huge. I gave this restaurant 3 stars because the dining area was dingy, a bit depressing, and the upholstery was ripped up in places. In my opinion this has some effect on the eating experience, although not that much. Your mileage will vary on this point, of course. read more

Decided to go in for a late breakfast this morning. The service was great. All of the staff were sweet and personable. Blueberry pancakes were a taste sensation. My over easy egg was cooked to perfection and the breakfast links were very yummy. My husband had an omelet and home fries and all were cooked perfectly. Overall the food seems fresh and made with care. A little chilly if you get a table by the door on a cold day.
