We had an incredible time wheeling here at hidden falls. From the start, the staff was super nice and had a great attitude any time we came in contact with them. Routes seem pretty well maintained and labeled well too. Only downfall is that our first day there the air up station didn't have very much PSI so we had to whip out the old reliables. First timer review. We recently bought a TJ this year and wanted to take it out. Little last minute Labor Day trip and it did not disappoint. We pulled up to the park and the first person we encountered was so helpfully. We told them it was our first time and they walked us through everything no problem. Once we got in and on the trails we started easy. We slowly worked our way up and were able to do some trails we didn't expect to do. Can't say enough great things about the place. A neighbor invited us out with our Jeep yesterday. I had never been to a park like this, so I wasn't sure what to expect. There were 9 vehicles in our group. I was a passenger with my husband, but we both had so much fun! There are several marked trails within their huge acreage. Some trails are just for full-sized vehicles, while others are reserved for ATVs, side-by-sides and dirt bikes. It felt like there was hardly anyone there once we got out on the trails. They have a food truck, convenience store and restrooms when you need to take a break. I can't imagine having gone out there without some seasoned drivers, so I don't know that I would recommend it to a group of people who were all new to this. I am certain that our trip yesterday won't be our last to Hidden Falls. read more

I thought the staff was nice. Trails are really geared for rock crawling. Was a bit rough on ATVs even on the easy trails. Staff was hit or miss. Lady at the entrance was super friendly and nice. The guy at the shop wasn't friendly. Trails could be marked better it was difficult determining some of the trails heads as signes were seemingly knocked down or turned around. We arrived before the weekend traffic showed up which was nice as we pretty much had the entire park to ourselves. I think we saw about 5 other bikes the entire time we were out there. If you are riding ATVs it's nice, but it can get dusty and rough even on the easy trails. Overall great place. read more

There are only enough Jeep trails to go for one day. So, if you want to camp there and wheel there for one day, they will charge you for two days and camping. You'll find this at the bottom of the page in the fine print. They rip you off. Also, if you forget your lunch, you can buy a brisket sandwich for $18. Captive audience, I guess. The campground is not maintained. The showers are barely warm with no water pressure. I also hope you like restrooms dirty and slimy. Trails aren't marked. Signs are missing. If you wheel on a nice day, either plan on keeping your windows closed anyway or eating excessive dust the entire day. Overall, it feels like a money-trap with no redeeming qualities. If you can find another park, do that. The quality of the staff leaves a lot to be desired as well. If I could give this place 0 stars, I would. read more

Not a long review to write. This place is where I like to go to throw some mud on my truck and relax, relieve some stress and have a great time with friends that I call family. General store has your basic needs. There are showers and decent bathrooms on the property. Really spacious RV hook ups and a nice little primitive camping area. Amazing experience for a first time Jeep off-road experience. I wrote a review when we visited but must have had a technical glitch. So here is our review again. Went for a family experience day trip up from Houston end of December. It was worth the drive. Check in was easy and park staff and rangers were exceptionally friendly and helpful. We were by ourselves and ended up getting a tour through the park. We experienced terrain that we would not have tried on our own and got to see the various aspects of the park. Trails were maintained and signage was throughout the park. There is even an app to download to know exactly where you are at any given point in time should you need help. Highly recommend for a first time experience. If it is your first time, let the folks know when you check in. read more

We recently stayed at Hidden Falls Adventure Park for a weekend with friends, booking three campsites. Unfortunately, our experience was ruined by the incredibly rude and unreasonable staff. On Saturday night, my son drove an hour and a half after work to join us, only to be denied entry because he gave the wrong name when asked who booked our site. Instead of working with us to resolve the misunderstanding, the staff threatened to call the sheriff and accuse him of trespassing. When my husband and I went to the gate to clear things up, we were met with the same hostile attitude by a woman who we believe was drunk! When she called her "backup" we were told we could pack up and leave, and again, that the sheriff would be called for trespassing. Rather than being helpful or understanding, they stuck to their rigid "rules" without any willingness to listen. As if that wasn't enough, after this incident, a park ranger targeted our campsite, telling us we couldn't use our propane fire pit--despite their own website stating fires are allowed. This was one of the worst customer service experiences we've ever had while camping. The staff was rude, unprofessional, and completely unwilling to work with us. We will never return, and we do not recommend this park to anyone. read more

The trails were awesome and they have various levels you can choose from. The primitive camp grounds were clean and well keep. There are some fire rings The bathhouse same thing , very clean Very friendly staff They do have a food truck that's there for the majority of the day. We had no problems with social distancing . I'll definitely want to go back but maybe wait till cooler weather. And I highly recommend looking up at the night skies and see a few more stars that I normally don't get to see because of light pollution. read more

This was our first time off-roading and didn't know what to expect. We had a great time, good side park with a good variety of skill/equipment level trails. We had a blast. The map that is provided as well as the trail markings could be improve. It's easy to end up in a dangerous/risky situation trying to follow vague signs and hasty maps. It's a pretty epic 2700 acre park for adults and kids. My buddy and I arrived with our Tacoma and 4Runner 4x4. We took the diamond 1 & 2 trails. We spent 3 hours riding the trails. Great customer service and advice from the convenience store people. Everyone was kind and helpful while ok the trails. Only complaint are some of the trails could be more clearly marked. The trails are really not great for ATV's/UTV's. It is SO Rocky and dusty! There were only a couple of water holes and they weren't worth getting muddy over. They were stagnant and stunk! We did the ATV trails for 3 days but all of our backs were hurting and the trails took off about a years worth of tread on the tires. Have been going to hidden falls for the past 10 years. it used to be an amazing time but the rangers have seemed to ruined the overall experience. All the workers at the front who check you in, are great people. But the ''park rangers'' that patrol around have an attitude like no other. I have had friends who are new to the park which have parked in the wrong area, gone down a wrong trail etc. Ends up never being a Cordial conversation that follows. Its immediate attitude, no understanding. Very strange because you'd think if you worked at a place like an offroad park, you'd be happy and pleasant to be around. But its the complete opposite. Ik HF has gotten new management in the recent months so i figured it would only get better, but they only seem to be more rude. read more

Hidden Falls Adventure Park : A disappointing experience to say the least. Had a group from Louisiana and Dallas coming in Friday. Got to the gate at 7:05 PM and were told zero entry at this time even though the cabins were already paid for. 7:08 the office help exited out the gate we were stranded at and we were told to come back tomorrow. Saturday told we would have to pay for trails Sunday regardless if we were leaving early AM. Couple was told they would need to purchase 2 primitive camp spots even though they were staying in the same tent, one came from Dallas the other from Houston. 2 minutes into unloading the rigs from the trailer had a "Park Ranger" come asking for documentation of payment. Was informed I would grab it off my truck dash as soon as I finished driving the Jeep of the trailer. Was informed "you don't need to be that way about it". Give me a break and harass someone else. Not sure what has changed but this used to be a great destination for a mini vacation. Now you need a vacation from your time here.. free advice, stay at the BRB cabins next door by the river for half the price, half the hassle and twice less stress. The entry times change each year so be sure and check the website for the tiny print every 2 months or whenever they need a price increase. You rob them of the extra $25 late fee if they let you in after 7PM on Fridays. The gate guard was never rude and was just helpless due to management policy. The following parks are a better option in the order of experience: 1. Barnwell Mountain (management changed 5 years ago to an actual off road enthusiast with a great spirit), Wolf's Cave ( the nicest couple you'll meet) SMORR Missouri (similar entry restrictions but later arrival and they let you camp at the gate without calling the sheriff) Hot Springs great (spot and office help) read more

The guys at Hidden Falls Adventure Park General Store at Area B are the BEST! So my wife and I went to the park for some light duty wheeling. We were out on a trail takin it pretty easy, and then... well rubber neckin' and wheelin' should not be done at the same time and while I was only goin' 5 miles an hour (honestly!) I nosed the passenger front wheel into a small divot or ditch and generated a resounding "omph!" from the occupants within the Jeep. We continued on, since there was no immediate concern, until my wife said, "The steering wheel is upside down". We also found that turning left was now a challenge, our NASCAR turning radius had been reduced to 1/3 the norm. So we headed back down the trail to the General Store. My wife asked the guys there if they had any tools we could borrow or buy to get us back to operational. Jim volunteered to go grab some tools for us to use and we were able to adjust a couple steering components to make things driveable again. Jim, you ROCKETH!! This review is for day pass use of dirt bikes at the Hidden Falls Adventure Park (one day only). About 6 months ago my brother and I decided to buy a couple of cheap, small dirt bikes (110cc 4-stroke "pit bikes") as we are complete beginners who have never owned or ridden any type of off-road vehicle or motorcycle. Once we learned how to ride them and got a little more comfortable, we started looking into trail riding in the greater Austin area. We weren't sure if our small bikes were suited for the type of trails at Hidden Falls, but we decided to get out there anyway since the weather could not have been more perfect for it last weekend. We paid $25 each for day passes and arrived at about 11:00 on Saturday afternoon on 12/7/2019. There were about 10 other groups/individuals parked in the day pass parking area and we chatted with a couple other riders who were very nice and helpful to us as first-timers. They advised that we stick to the ATV trails because the dirt bike trails were a little more than our bikes could probably handle, and they were right! The ATV trails were perfect for putting our bikes to their first real test to see what they (and we) were capable of. We got into one of the dirt bike trails and made it the whole way through, but with some difficulty due to the size of our bikes and our inexperience. The ATV trails and even just riding on parts of Park Road (the main road that accesses most all of the trails) were the most fun. We spent about 5-6 hours in total riding the trails, hanging out, and taking breaks in the day pass area. There are some very scenic views at different locations throughout the park. We can't wait to get back to explore more. A couple of tips for newbies like us: Don't pack light - bring your tools, spare parts, fuel, lunch/snacks/drinks, accessories, and anything else you think you might need. Also, take a cell phone with plenty of battery life and a printed copy of the trail map(s) with you while riding. We stayed out a little too late on our last ride of the day and the sun started going down very quick. We realized we were a little lost and if we didn't have our maps we might have gotten caught in the dark. If there were an emergency/injury out on the trails, you may not see another rider or anyone that can help so bring a cell phone and hope you can get reception if you need to use it. Staff is so rude!!! We were there last night, a group about 40 people, when we came back from the trails it was a little past closing time and two rangers approached us, one was only explaining to us that it was passed closing and we had to leave while the other older guy with white beard screaming at us that we were banned from the park and will never be allowed again and taking pictures of us and our cars plates. While I understand the park was closed by the time we got back, we were lost and made it back, when they approached us all the atv's were already loaded and we were just picking up the camp. I feel that there was no need to be so disrespectful to us. Thank you for banning us!!! We for sure don't want to give our money to a business like this. Our group won't come back! read more

Your money is welcome here, but not you! Beware - Experienced tourists not welcome - this place caters to MEMBERS ONLY! For everyone else, enter the beautiful Hill Country's most unfriendly tourist trap - well, that is, with the exception of when you are paying the day pass fees to enter. They are friendly while emptying your pocketbook and collecting nearly $40 for the driver and additional 25% fees for passengers. Otherwise, here are some issues to look out for as a non member. 1) your money is welcome here but NOT YOU! You will experience a staff that literally points you to the exit while others have hours to wheel. 2) they will go out of their way to ruin non members special occasions because it doesn't matter why you are there, you are still not welcome. Be aware if you are choosing this as an occasion destination. 3) operating hours for members and non members vary and appear discretionary. This non member was instructed to exit over an hour early. Park closes at 5pm on Thursdays for non members but sunset for members. 4) if you are visiting for the firearm range, you DO NOT need a day pass for adventure park trails to enter or use the range. They may not tell you this when you arrive and they do not disclose trail hours and range hours to help you plan your day adventure while giving you false information while checking in. False information such as telling you that this adventure park hosted the regional Bronco Off Rodeo events. It turns out that this park WAS NOT the Austin off rodeo destination. It was Grey Wolf Ranch in Horseshoe Bay Texas - per the guide. 5) NO REFUNDS, EXTENSIONS, or EXCHANGES! Fall for the entrance scam or false representations, have a delay or breakdown on the way to the trail, arrive at the trailhead with over an hour to wheel, need to stop for supplies, fuel, or food which is miles away, no forgiveness - no mercy. They will tell you it is better to lose you as a non member visitor than show an ounce of hospitality to gain your future business, even if it was planned for the very next day. 6) Trail rating system is proprietary to this park. A 3 is the highest they recommended for a non ATV. This leaves very few options. The park caters more to ATVs. There are so many other options nearby. Take it from this Colorado adventurer, skip this trap unless you are considering membership. read more

Not all trials were marked.. and apparently there was a right and wrong way to travel that really wasn't explained or on the map we ended up going up the tail or a 4 diamond with a stock gladiator and slightly mod wrangler. After walking up we discovered the severity of the trail. Even some of the lower level trail were far more than anticipated after completing the badge honor trails. read more

Had a good time playing around on the trails at Hidden Falls this morning. Plenty of trails ranging from easy going to straight out scary. Well for me some of them are scary, but I see people going up and down them so maybe it's just me. Ha. Anyhow the place is huge, lots of jeeps out and about but it wasn't crowded at all. Plenty of room to roam. If your looking for a fun place to take your 4x4 this would be it. Well worth the drive. read more

I wish I could give a better rating because to be honest, this place has everything it needs for someone who loves the outdoors and enjoys off-roading type fun to have the best time of their life. I have 3 kids and each has a dirt bike/atv so we are always looking for new places to ride. This adventure involved my wife and I, both my parents and my kids. We came here to celebrate my daughter turning 13 and a fun way to end spring break holiday. This was our first time there and the older gentlemen at the front seemed really nice and helpful, unfortunately we got stuck with the his unfriendly colleague next to him. We told him this was our first adventure here (he rolled his eyes) so we were unfamiliar with rules, policies trails etc. He asked me very rudely to fill out the release form with everyone's name, I did. Then he said, I need everyone to sign- "I responded with oh I filled out for them" ( my mom and wife and kids were all still sitting in the truck along) he sarcastically responded with "that's not what I f***king said. I need them to sign. I was a bit taken back but ignored it as maybe I misinterpreted what he said) My wife walked up and he literally threw the clipboard and pen on the counter. I still managed to keep my cool and let it go. When my wife was filling out her part and the section that asked for license plate info (I already wrote this info down twice as asked) she asked do I need to fill this out? His response " it wouldn't be on the form if we didn't need it" with an even more sarcastic, attitude filled response than the first time. By this point I was livid with his attitude and responses. If you don't like your job or the people you work with, then find somewhere else to be. No one is being forced to work anywhere. Paying customers should not be subjected to this type of treatment from an establishment. He's extremely lucky we were there for my children and not for my own personal pleasure because I could have made a bigger deal about everything and said screw it and left. Just because you have a business that isn't offered or available everywhere doesn't mean you have the right to treat your customer like crap. I bit my tongue for my kids sake and glad I did cause the park itself was great and I was even impressed with the fact a park ranger passed by and just checked in with us and made sure everyone was having a good time and ok. Spent the weekend here for the first time. Boyfriend bought a new Jeep and thought we would explore. As for camping, primitive is primitive. There are some fire rings. Tables are few. Come prepared. Their improved sites are far from the action and its planned for RVs. There is a food truck that's decent if you don't want to cook. We preferred their breakfast over dinner. Awesome place for motorcyclists and 4 wheelers. It's loud and people start early so plan on sleeping in. We rented 4 wheelers and got a guide because the trails are confusing and it's easy to get lost. Our guide was Zack and he was awesome. My favorite part of the weekend for sure. General store was slim pickens and they sell terrible firewood that doesn't burn well so plan for that. While there is lots of action the camping is not naturesque and it's just a big parking lot with lots and lots of rec vehicles. We had fun and would recommend for 4 wheeling, Motorcycles and Jeepers. read more

My wife and I went and rode the trails in her 23 Rubicon. We had a great time at the staff was friendly, knowledgeable and very helpful.

Absolutely loved this place! It was the first time we took our Jeep off road and we had a blast. A lot of the off road parks always frighten me because of the amount of drinking and driving and crazy partying, but this place was perfect. It felt like the focus was more on the scenic trails/nature aspect as opposed to the partying aspect of off roading, and that's exactly what I like. We camped overnight and even saw deer in the morning! The office was helpful anytime we called to get advice on a trail and they did a great job of making us feel comfortable. There are great amenities (showers were nice, they had a food truck, general store, and more - they even had wifi!). Definitely can't say enough good things about this place! Only con was that the trails could be marked better, but they were still easy enough to figure out. If you are on the fence about making a trip here-do it! You will love it! read more

Would not recommend, the place is beautiful but the "rangers" are very rude, especially the shorter man with the blue eyes(the only way to describe him because he would not give me a name). They're condescending and were just waiting for something to complain about. My family and I were in a no camp site with no intention of camping and he very rudely rode up and questioned us asking (again in a very rude and condescending tone) if we had anyone camping. After we said no he without response turned around and walked away. They have a very strict rule about helmets that we were unaware about being our first time, the helmets there are $150+ so one of the men nicely told us we could go to the local Walmart and purchase some. After driving there and back the shorter man with the blue eyes stopped us on the trail and said they were the incorrect helmets. He followed us to our site and waited for us to pack up and leave. Again the place is beautiful but the employees give the place a bad reputation. Expect to be followed and spied on. read more

If you are looking for a great place to ride dirt bikes, 4x4, AT a, etc...this is it. The primitive camping is exactly what it sounds like. There are trees lining the area but not much inside the area. Mostly dirt & rocks. Get here early to pick a good location. And the dust/dirt will get everywhere so plan accordingly. There are lots of different trails to try out and plenty of fun for everyone. Took my Subaru down a couple trails and it was fine. Don't recommend anything over 2-stars if you are in a regular car. You need more clearance for the rougher parts. Don't forget to check out the Falls. Everyone enjoyed it and we hit some good family pictures over there. read more

First of all......wow! Coming from Arizona where we don't have contained parks but unlimited public land I was very skeptical. We took our 4 seat rzr xp1000 out today to check it out. I was blown away with how organized it was and how technical the trails were. We had a blast and even got a little scared on a few trails. Great maps and well marked trails. So much fun!
