We are a bespoke furniture maker with forty five years experience in the trade, and have found the service and quality of Hide and Stitch's work to be exceptional. David has leatherworking skills that are dying out and hard to find. I would never recommend Hide and Stitch. Having placed work with them at the end of 2016 for a 6 month schedule, to had to wait 15 months, with work not completed as quoted. We paid 50% deposit and waited for 4 months before requesting to check progress, but there was none . The proprietor stated we had 'no written contract' . He failed to meet the agreed schedule and promises as to when it would be completed. It seemed that every other job was more important and we just kept getting put on the back burner. At the outset he had quoted for a refit of our Airstream and stated he did not itemise each item but quoted for the complete job. Therefore if you place any significant work with HIde and Stitch ask for a written contract. We decided to pay the demands to retrieve our property, albeit not finished, and a very unpleasant experience, as there was no negotiation open for independent assessment for the unfinished work and delta.
