Browhaus - It's never "just" an eyebrow.

There's something about the shape of eyebrows that changes the countenance, whether it's adding a…read moreslight arch or simply evening out the outline to make your facial expressions clearer. For some, recognizing when a remark is sarcastic depends on how well the other person can work those brows. Brow Haus, a brow and lash grooming salon, knows this all too well, which is why they have posters showing the "before" and "after" stages of neatly trimmed eyebrows. I used to look at these posters all the time, but I never really appreciated what they were promoting until I reaped the benefits myself. After I had my eyebrows threaded at Brow Haus, most of my friends noticed the change even if they weren't quite sure what to attribute it to. Trimming my bushy eyebrows lent a more symmetric appearance to my eyes, made me look and feel more confident in the way I carried myself. Thankfully, the staff are very kind and perform their work quickly, usually 5 minutes tops whenever I request for Classic Threading (P580). Grooming eyebrows may seem like a subtle adjustment, but it goes a long way in emphasizing the eyes and approaching the specific look that I'm going for. Because I'm not fond of applying make-up in casual everyday situations, I appreciate how Brow Haus makes my eyebrows look effortlessly neat and fixed even if I just got up from bed. It's a lovely kind of magic.

I love this place! I used to go to a salon to have my brows done until browhaus opened. I never…read moreknew there was a special kind of thread for threading brows (most salons I've been to just used like a regular type of thread) The place is clean, the procedure is systematic and it only takes about 15-20mins! The therapists are well trained (even in putting brow make up after the procedure) and they really shape your brows well. It's a bit pricey but definitely worth it! I've been availing of their packages, which brings the cost down by Php100 per session (Php500 instead of Php600) I have no photos to post as you're not allowed to take pics inside the place.

It is a small space. They have a couch when you walk in and then at the back are 4 chairs where you get eyebrows done then two rooms for waxing. I usually get the brow tidy for 185P. I think this is a really good price and they do a good job. I know they do because people notice my eyebrows. Haha :) They are really accommodating I needed to charge my phone and I didn't have the lil box part that you plug into the wall and I just had the cord so I asked if they had one and they did! So I was able to charge. You can make appointments here so try to do that because waiting sucks. Wait time for walk ins can be up to 1 hour or more. If you need your eyebrows done this is the place to go!

She took her time to make sure they were perfect and throughout the process kept bringing me a mirror so I could check and see if I liked them. I also got my underarms waxed which was relatively painless and super quick. After she waxed, she threaded the remaining strands which was odd, but hey it got the job done! Cheap, quick, and good service! What more could you ask for?! P.S. When I called the number listed, it was the Brow Lounge in MOA, so here's the correct number for the Rob Mag location: 6254301

I no longer recommend this place. I used to be a regular with the Japanese stylist but since she…read moreleft, the quality of the place has deteriorated pitifully: 1 The senior Filipina stylist DOES NOT WASH HER HANDS prior to doing lashes!! How do I know this? The moment her hands come close to my face, I can smell that they reek of cigarette smoke. I had to tell her to clean her hands and she wouldn't have otherwise. No soap and water. She just doused her hands in rubbing alcohol. 2 The senior Filipina stylist has a negative personality. It's only natural to let out an "ouch!" because of my pain from her heavy hands and the fumes from her heavy application of lash glue, right? Nope, she is not apologetic and instead angrily blames me for having naturally short lashes every single time. During the first of two times, she even vented to me about all her problems with the Hide2A/Ales management and boss. (About how they deduct from her salary due to her tardiness, among other things...) Imagine having to listen to it for hours... How many hours? 4 Painfully slow application. What took the Japanese stylist an hour took the senior Filipina stylist available FOUR HOURS of my life! 5 The first set of lash extensions the senior Filipina stylist did on me started to fall off after just 2 weeks as opposed more than a month when done by the Japanese stylist. 6 Going back to the senior Filipina stylist's heavy lash glue application... Today, after bearing her slowness and the pain, I COULDN'T OPEN MY EYES!! There was so much glue that my upper lashes stuck to my lower lashes. So after lying down restlessly for hours, she had to re-do some parts. 7 Now, I can see some lashes drooping and it has only been 2 and a half hours since my appointment ended with the senior Filipina stylist. I had not washed my face or exposed my lashes to any sort of moisture. This is just the result of her work. Why I allowed myself to experience this more than once? Since I had such a positive experience with the Japanese stylist, I hoped that the staff that she mentored would uphold all their learnings from her. The first time, I assumed perhaps she had a bad day and hoped that was a fluke. But I was disappointed. 8 It is impossible to relax while getting your lashes done since the staff gossip and chatter loudly. Plus the Hide2A salon pantry is connected to the Ales Lash Salon area and is only partitioned by a divider. The staff have become so loud and rowdy - yes, with yelling and shouting - unlike when the Japanese stylist was around. 9 Also, the first time the senior Filipina stylist did my lashes, she didn't issue me a receipt! It is unfortunate that what I had thought to be the best eyelash extension place in Manila has come to this. All because of the lazy staff.

A Japanese based beauty shop in SM Mall of Asia in the S Maison mall section. I had a hard time…read morelooking for this shop cuz it's so hidden to me in the mall and asking guards around didn't even know of this shop?! This S Maison section is in the high end of the mall. They are actually new a year ago in this shop. Their other shop in Taguig was where I wanted to go but they are under construction and they were there for three years. There are many asians when I came to this shop so I thought it must be good. They do nails, hair and other things besides lashes. I am only reviewing based on my lashes. They didn't have a time slot to do my nails. Came to this chain based on a recommendation from a friend of a friend in the states for how they put their lashes and glue they used but I believe the staff is new here or they have staff who only does certain things so every question I had, they had to ask. Stephanie was really friendly and nice, and did a good job on my lashes but she was slow to me. My lash beautician in the states only takes less than hour for more lashes put on. Stephanie should have made suggestions for me based on what I liked for full lashes verses what I wanted to start with. They go by how many lashes I wanted?? How was I supposed to know how many lashes I use?? I just wanted a full natural lash look based on the picture she showed me! I thought 100 lashes was enough (50 each eye) but I was wrong so I asked to add 40 more (20 each eye). It still wasn't enough. I was there for two hours that I fell asleep! I wanted to ask for 40 more but that would take more time! By this time, I was irritated, I wanted to go already since this took so much time. I really wished she knew how many I needed. If I need lashes, I would still come back as I like the glue they use (Korea brand) but my stylist in US said their is an ingredient that causes cancer. Stephanie showed me the glue pkg and it says made in Korea (I took a pic). By the time I come back here, the ladies will know what to suggest....I hope! I always need more lashes due to all the swim activities I do here in the Philippines. At least, I know now for next time that 180- 200 lashes maybe needed for a full natural look on me. Make sure you know how many lashes you need before going here as they don't make suggestions for you. Also, you have to have the time to spend here. I think this is a decent place as well for the prices for this area. They just need to speed up the time! [129/100]

They only…read morehave about 6 or 7 polishes to choose from, because apparently they do more gel services. First of all - they don't take out ingrown toenails. Which is the main reason I get pedicures. (Which is why I opted to get regular polish vs gel on my toes). I noticed the girl didn't use a base coat before applying the polish. I let it go, not a big deal. she took her time pushing my cuticles back, but made my ingrown itch more LOL- I ignored it. When it came to the manicure, she completed cleaning the one hand then asked if it would be okay to use a dremmel for the second hand. I told her no, as it would feel weird because she had taken her time to push the cuticles on one hand. I asked for a matte finish black with some jewel art. I'm pretty sure she was a beginner/ new because she was limited on her nail art skills.- 30 minutes after I had left I noticed jewels had come lose. she did not put enough gel top coat to seal the jewels in. My cousins said the reason the jewels were coming off was because I asked for matte finish. which doesn't make sense. 3 stars for cleanliness of the area and good air conditioning. Suggest requesting a 'senior' nail tech.
