The place is also a restaurant with a full staff waiting to greet you. Just walk straight in and to the left. There will be people behind the dessert counter for the cafe portion of the store. It will also help if you spoke a bit of Spanish because all the staff speaks only Spanish.

We stood by and watched how the Marquesita is made. Batter is added to a crepe pan and cooked made to order. A variety of fillings were available to choose from, but we asked for their most popular food item. Apparently shredded cheese and nutella is a favorite choice of the locals. Joe K and I shared this unusual dessert combo, and the blend was better than I expected. I wasn't quite sure at first if I would like cheese and chocolate together, but it turned out pretty tasty after all. It was a nice ending to our all day food truck food binge at the park!

Marquesitas are pastries, to go pastries to be exact, rolled into some sort of a fried crispy tortilla, with cheese and a dash of nutella. Granted, there are a few variations, but the one I got appeared to be the most common. The flavor combo is amazing and it's a true street food dessert that you cannot miss while traveling! It had this modern artsy Ikea vibe to it! I order a chai and sandwich and it was delish! My husband got a cappuccino and some bagel. Looked like Costco bagel but the cappuccino was just perfect. I would definitely recommend and visit this place if I go back to Cancun!
