We came across it on our first night and went back at least 2 more times on our stay. Everything we tried was great and even for it being such a busy season we had great service and while packed didn't feel overwhelming or crowded. In total we ordered the white asparagus, the side salad, meatloaf with potato salad, rosemary potatoes and a prosciutto pizza. The meatloaf was really a loaf of Ham style meat. They served it with some mustard and potato salad. Just thinking about it makes my mouth water. The prosciutto pizza was very good with a good amount of cheese. The side salad had just about every color of the rainbow and was very good. A salad like this is such a difficult thing to find when you are traveling, I definitely enjoyed some greens with my meal. For those who have never had schweinhaxe, it's a lot like Chinese style "pig's feet" (it essentially is the same pork body part), but crispy, salty, and well.."European" tasting. We couldn't really read most of the menu, and fortunately for us, Bavarians are very nice and willing to help. A jolly, tall German man content with his beer in hand helped us translate some of the menu items and recommended certain beers on their EXTENSIVE list. It was renovated from a previous hall and the decor is very nice, not to mention the Christmas decor. They even added a nice sitting area for groups of 5-8 where you have your own self serve beer tap at the table. What more do you need? They also have multiple private rooms. The service at Haufbrauhaus was terrible. I ordered a seasonal beer and it was fantastic and the outside seating was wonderful on a perfect day. Our server was awesome and spoke perfect english. I ordered the charcuterie board and it had a couple of hummus scoops and a beef stick and this scoop of stuff that was way too rich for me with pieces of butter in it, but the Germans love it. The pretzels that came with it were great and the cream cheese scoop went perfectly on the pretzel. One of the best meals in Munich, give it a try.
