Shawn responded immediately to my inquiry, was able to come at a time convenient for me, and showed up right on time. He did great work - he came up with creative solutions to secure my mounts in tricky spaces, and the TVs look great and are at the perfect height. I was missing a cable, and one mount I purchased didn't have the right screws, and he had everything I needed in his truck. I needed speakers installed and TV wires hidden at my new house. I contacted three highly rated contractors and Shawn was the first person to contact me and the only one to actually follow up, so I gave him my job. His team showed up on time and were very professional throughout the entire day. I am very happy with the work they did for me. This company installed a home theater system for our tv room and also sold and installed several tvs for us. While we were initially satisfied with their service, we learned that if you have problems afterwards, they will blow you off when you call to ask for help. They sold us an Onkyo receiver for our tv room that is defective and when I called Brent to ask for help, he failed to respond to any of my messages. Now I am stuck with this POS receiver that cost me $500. If you google the Onkyo NR616 receiver, you will see that this unit has had massive problems, including have the picture on your tv black out. So I wonder if Brent did not try to unload this defective unit on us knowing that it would have problems. In any event, I cannot recommend this company given their poor customer service. read more

The project: Wired my whole house (including kitchen, bathrooms, and outdoor seating area) with wiring and speakers. Designed two home theater systems and selected, installed and programmed TV and audio-related components for two different rooms (living room and media room). Shawn and his team were very professional and did a great job. I was nervous at first since this is my first house and I knew I was going to spend a meaningful amount of money on setting up the home theater systems. I interviewed a couple different companies for the project but settled on Shawn's team since he had the simplest approach to getting good quality sound throughout my home. I didn't want to have wireless speakers since I care a lot about sound quality and I figured I had the chance to hardwire the whole house so why not. Shawn came up with several detailed proposals and I chose the one that made the most sense for me and my budget. He then worked with my general contractor (who was renovating the house at the same time) over several months to solve a couple challenges: (i) I wanted all the TVs in each room to be flat into the wall (as opposed to sticking out) without any components (e.g., cable box or DVD player) showing and (ii) I had to build my media room TV into a rotating wall with surround sound in the other room walls. Shawn was able to pull this off with my contractor and I'm happy with my result, which isn't the simplest system in the world but fairly elegant given the constraints (e.g., all components for both TVs are in a single closet in a room separate from the TVs). Just as important, I asked Shawn to return to my house on three different occasions to correct issues that I ran into with my home theater system (some of which were the cable company's fault). Shawn was quick to respond and super helpful. He didn't even charge me for his repeat visits. He also taught me new things about my home theater system each time. Shawn and his team did a lot of "wire clean-up" inside and out of my house. The previous owners had some pretty shoddy work done when having their cable, internet, and speakers installed/wired. It was an eyesore in several rooms in my house as well as the garage and much of the exterior. Shawn and his guys came on time, were friendly and professional and did a GREAT job on tidying up the wiring and re-wiring in some cases. Everything looks neat and clean. No more drooping/sagging cables on the roof and along the outside walls. They hid several wires in the walls on the interior and the difference is night and day. His team cleaned up after themselves and did a fantastic job overall. Shawn also hooked up several Sonos components and integrated them into my home theater system. I am very happy with the service Shawn and his team at High Definition Audio Video performed. They replaced a 46' flatscreen with our new one, reinstalling that one into the bedroom and the one in there into the guest bedroom, all within an hour or so! I cannot recommend High Definition Audio Video highly enough. I have had them do several projects in my new house since moving here approximately two years ago. All of the work has been first-rate. The first project was installing a home theater system in my media room and wifi extenders throughout my house. My initial plan for the media room was to install a Bose system that I brought from my former house, but Hugo, the technician, recommended working with ceiling speakers that were already there. The speakers turned out to be good quality, so he set up a complete audio system for that room and then installed the Bose system in my bedroom.. The wifi extenders solved a significant problem with the wifi signal in the house. Subsequent work has included installing a Sonos system in the living room, kitchen and patio; setting up audio/visual equipment in an office, wiring a new master bedroom for home theater, and repairing a line from a driveway gate to my home phone. I've been particularly impressed with how Shawn and Hugo have had the foresight to plan for future work. For example, when Hugo wired the room that will be my master bedroom (it is currently being renovated), he set up the wiires that will control the TV and audiovisual equipment to run to a closet so that no equipment or wires will be visible in the bedroom. He also included extra HDMI and coaxial cables in the wiring so that, if any of the cables in use get damaged or stop working, we will not have to damage walls to replace them. Throughout the process, Shawn and Hugo have made excellent suggestions about the best ways to design and improve my audio-visual equipment. They have consistently offered advice about integrating the system with the changes I've made to the house. They also have been responsive to questions and have come out on short notice to address issues that arose. read more

I purchased a surround sound system from this company. The wireless speakers make a popping sound similar to gun fire at random intervals. The owner of the company refused to give me a refund on the speakers of any sort. He stated the receiver (that he sold me) wasn't compatible with any other wireless speakers. The system was taken apart and he refused to re assemble the system. The owner said he would put the system back together seven days ago for no charge, then refused text and phone calls as to when the work would be done. Now he is out of town and unavailable. I was extremely impressed with Shawn and his staff, who came this morning to set up my new A/V system and were professional, speedy, knowledgeable, and imaginative. I don't know if I'm a typical customer for Shawn, but I was as concerned about the look of the system as I was about the sound -- I wanted a clean system, with components hidden away as much as possible, and I won't lie, I was a little on the high-maintenance side in terms of my demands. But Shawn and his guys listened carefully to what I wanted, and came up with solutions to every one of the issues I had, improvising a way to wire things and to conceal a set of speakers that we hadn't discussed previously because I hadn't thought to bring it up, but that is really great.
