The teachers that our kids had were caring and warm; kids got to do a lot of free play with other children and work on their social skills that way; the program also involved a lot of movement and outdoor time, which is so important to young children. Even in the short few years that we were there, I could see how being at the school made our kids more creative and gave them great social skills. Our kids still miss their old school.

I went to Argentina and loved it! Also went to Nantucket, Maine, etc for end-of-the-year trips. The teachers care dearly for their students. I've found myself well prepared for university. I've only completed one year so far, but I've been doing great and I'd credit some of that to Waldorf. I'd say that Waldorf isn't for all students (some people would probably feel suffocated by the small class sizes) but it can be really great for those it does work for! PS- I'm not sure who the other reviewer is, but he doesn't seem to have attended! Checking his previous reviews, I noticed he also gave the Empire State Building a one-star review (along with almost all the other places he's written about). You can't please everyone.

She enjoys the coursework--no longer stressed and procrastinating at night--and the Main topics classes change frequently to provide novelty without losing depth. The teachers are very caring, knowledgable, accessible and involved. Here are some of the things we like about Seacoast Waldorf School: 1) the emphasis on creativity and a lifelong love of learning (my kids LOVE going to school!) 2) the fact that kids learn two languages (Spanish and German) starting in 1st grade 3) the emphasis on integrating arts into learning (for example, knitting helps with math, prepares kids for reading and improves concentration - who knew!) 4) music (violin and recorder in the grades; songs and movement, too) 5) outdoor/farming/nature emphasis (great for my two very active boys!) 6) an academic program that is deep, rich, and experiential. 7) being surrounded by like-minded families that want to give their children a real 'childhood', are engaged and involved and value all of the above. We had called that morning and they squeezed us in. The care we received during the class you wouldn't be able to tell we were "squeezed in". We had many tries because it was our first time ever doing pottery so we had unlimited chances to get it right. All in all, it's a hole in the wall but well worth it for anyone looking for something to do on a weekend. Can't wait to come again to paint our masterpieces again with Judy!

The Waldorf education program at Antioch New England was not a good experience. the reason why is…read moremostly due to a single teacher, Arthur Auer, that has too much influence over the program and is very incompetent and unkind. The year round program is awful and not worth the time or money, and I would warn you against it. It is a small minded program and does not prepare you to teach in a classroom at all. I feel it set me back a few years in many ways because of it, and I regret doing the program.
