The people at this church are no different, they are amazingly friendly. Their current building isn't fancy. They keep it clean but it isn't the W or anything. They are moving into a new place on Guadalupe soon which will be great. Here's my personal experience: my wife and I were recently pregnant (well my wife was pregnant, not me but you get the point) we decided to take the "Having a Happy Baby" course they offer. It wasn't expensive and I didn't have to mortgage the house or anything - it was $50 for me and $50 for my wife - so $100 in total (that included the workbooks). The information was pretty straightforward and made a lot of sense to me. Stuff like "make sure you're eating nutritious foods while pregnant, make sure you're getting enough rest, etc." It suggested not taking harmful drugs while you're pregnant - nothing controversial there. One concept I really liked had to do with physical pain. The idea is that physical pain to an expectant mother can not only be physically harmful to a fetus but also emotionally and mentally harmful to the baby in the future - this is an eye-opening concept and changed the rest of our pregnancy. The course also gives ways to keep your baby happy when they get upset. Both my wife and I have used these many times. In fact, I used it two day ago and it worked like a charm. Our little guy is so happy, exactly what we were hoping to get from the training. He's always smiling, giggling, talking (in his own way), etc. When he gets upset, we have easy to use tools to cheer him up and get him out of his funk and make him happy. The info we learned on this course far outweighs the $100 we spent. I've spent WAY MORE on other baby stuff that wasn't half as useful. They have a ton of courses there. I can't give a review for all of them as I haven't done them all. But they have courses that address money, getting motivated, organization, business, achieving your goals, increasing confidence, etc. I will most likely do all of them!

The Schoenstatt Shrine is perched upon a beautiful hill overlooking parts of Austin. Coming from the flatlands of Houston, TX, I was in awe of the gorgeous sight! Sitting on the steps of the shrine and looking out at the beautiful view, I can't help but smile at how God's creations can be so magnificently indescribable. The first time I came to the shrine, it was for adoration. I've been to adoration many times at different parishes, but nothing compares to my experience at the shrine. I enjoy being able to close me eyes and feel the wind with the shrine doors opened. It helps me to be at peace and makes me feel as if it's just Jesus and I there in the chapel. Not only are the adoration events spiritually refreshing, but so are the Sunday masses at 11am! Every week you can celebrate mass outdoors with some of the most inspiring and genuine people! The shrine is a place to spend time with Mother Mary, a place for reflection and a place to celebrate the goodness of God. The shrine is a home away from heaven!

I've attended a few churches in Austin, but nothing has really spoken out to me. I decided to venture further south to Buda and came across Grace Community Fellowship in Hays. First off, the site and ratings are impressive. How can you not want to give them a shot when the statement online says, "Where the unchurched and churched love to come" along with a clean site, sleek graphics and fonts (shoutout to the marketing team). The church is tucked away on a private property down a dirt road, finding it at first can be confusing. Look for the "Grace Community Church" sign next to the school. Once you arrive, you'll see the church on your left, but you'll need to pass the church and park next to it in a dirt lot. We weren't sure what we had gotten ourselves into, but we made it this far and there was no turning back. Once inside, we found the space to be warm, rustic and beautiful. People went out of their way to include us in their prayer groups, and were genuinely welcoming and happy to have us there-- we even got an Rtic thermos as a welcome gift! The structure of the service was not what I was expecting.. it started with worship songs, communion with small groups prayer, more worship songs, a coffee break, and then the sermon. The drawback for me was the hour long worship segment... The crowd also leans to an older demographic (people in their later forties, fifties+) and families.

A nice, well-kept temple open to the public with a mix of indoor and outdoor shrines and statues…read more. I walked in on a Sunday, there was 1 caretaker inside and fairly empty. Space open for kneeling and bowing and there's a recording of chants that can be heard throughout the temple. Very calming ambiance. I only saw one other person during my time there, who came in to offer incense. Overall, a calming place to walk around, reflect, and simply be present.

Thats when I noticed the doors were open. The shrine peeked out of the large doors. It's as if they were expecting me. I walked in to find the place empty. The grounds were empty too. I didn't expect it to be open actually. I was just driving by. As I made my way in admiring yet more divine inspired art I noticed pillows on the floor. I kneeled and bowed. With my eyes closed I prayed for peace to come into my heart. A Gong rung and echoed. I knew now I was not alone. I finished my prayer and looked up to find an older man looking at me. I stood up. We didnt exchange words yet our eyes communicated. We bowed to each other and I left with more peace than i walked in with. Thank you.
