We are so thankful to have found Fresta Valley. Our son has attended for three years now and there…read moreis nowhere he would rather be. The staff is excellent and the attention our son receives is personal and positive. If we ever have an issue, our son's teachers or the administrators are available to us directly and ready to help. Everyone knows us by name and reaching out and making friends with other parents has been easy. The atmosphere there is very family like and supportive. We were looking for a quality education for our son with a firm grounding in God's word to carry him through life. God led us here and we are very grateful. The world needs more Fresta Valleys.

I expected more kindness and understanding, but instead, there was a lot of favoritism and unfairness. On top of that, there were several situations where I felt like they handled things really poorly, and that just made me hate going to school even more. The teachers didn't make it any easier either. For example, I told them a whole month in advance that I'd be gone for vacation during the last week of school, but they still said I'd get zeros on assignments I missed. That felt super unfair and like they didn't really care about what the students were going through. It was frustrating because I wanted to do well and be treated fairly, but that just didn't happen. After dealing with all of this for a year and a half, I knew I couldn't stay there anymore. It was disappointing because I really hoped for a positive and supportive environment, but it ended up being the opposite. Looking back, I wish things had been different because no one should have to go through that kind of experience at school. I wouldn't recommend this school to anyone.

We toured the school and talked with the principle that our youngest has been having some tantrums, but we are actively working on them. We were reassured that this was not an issue, and in fact, her own child had the same issue. Stated that it a great environment. We took the jump and paid for the entire year (11k!). The first day was very rough. My youngest was having tantrums and not doing well. She was sent home early which I agree with. We were then "un-invited" to return to pre and post care due to the tantrums. Fine. My husband and I worked with our schedules to ensure that we would A. be at the school in a moments notice if anything needed to be corrected and B. was willing to work with school to ensure no issues arise. We have MD appts lined up to assist as well. Within 2 hours of school on Tuesday, she was sent home due to 2 tantrums. Again, I understand it is disruptive, however we were doing our best to help. THEY COULD NOT GET US OUT OF THE SCHOOL FAST ENOUGH. We were told again, to come in on Wednesday and we would try again. I took off the entire day to be ready to sit at the school and assist with behaviors and find out what was causing this. Tuesday afternoon, less than 4 hours after being sent home, being told that we could come back on Wednesday, we were no longer welcomed back at the school. 7 hours was all it took for them to reject us. Of the 11k that we spent, they returned all but $1400. That's $200 an hour for this child. We attempted to talk with them and ask for them to return all but $600 (a month tuition and pre/post care for that Monday). They declined and charged the entire month of pre, post, 1 month tuition, and 3%. $1400 for 7 hours of care. They acted like they were doing us a favor for not charging us 3 months tuition despite them not wanting us back. Ridiculous. And for those wondering, the youngest started at Everbrook Academy. They worked with her for 2 days (Wednesday and Thursday) and by Friday she had ZERO tantrums. You are telling me that St. Micheal's is not able to work with us and a 3 year old on self calming? But Everbrook was able to come in with loving arms to assist. Just ridiculous. TL;DR: Don't send your small kiddos here.

I enjoyed our initial visit and Monica (the previous head of the school) was great to work with. our son quickly adapted to his classroom & became very close with his teacher who is no longer there (Ms. Aya). he has since moved up to Children's House with Ms. Freshta and Ms. Priyanka! they know how to work with each children as they are all different in their way of learning. they have been nothing but patient and they love challenging my son to help him reach new heights. in his time there, he has learned a lot. they took potty training very seriously and he started just about as soon as he joined the school. he loves going to school & as a Montessori, they are very "children based". the students do everything themselves in the classroom to help them gain independence at an early age. when we first signed up, we were told our son would know his multiplication table by 4 and fractions by 5 so I'm excited to watch him progress. the new director, Ms. Desirae, has been a pleasure to work with. she has quickly immersed herself in the school and learned every child in all the classrooms. Ms. Cady at the front desk is very helpful and greets everyone as they come in. the after school teacher assistants like Ms. Dawn are super helpful and the children love her! my only gripe is that lunch is not provided. my daughter went to a school nearby growing up that did provide lunch, but it seems a lot of the daycares in the area no longer provide lunch. but different times I guess.

But within a couple of days, my daughter was excited to go to school and loving it!! All the staff/guides are amazing. Professional but friendly, caring, supportive, and above all, very communicative. The admins - The first day when I dropped off my daughter, she was crying inside the classroom and I was crying outside the classroom. Ms. Miya who I didn't know and was just walking by kindly offered her support and experience and helped me feel better. Ms. Jeannie has been incredible in every way from day 1 to get us situated, organize all sorts of cool activities, and make us feel welcomed into the community. Ms. Monica is our new head of school, and the short while that we know her, she's put in a lot of effort to meet all the kids and parents, engaging kids in different activities. The guides - Ms. Christine and Ms. Freshta, our lead & assistant guides, are the heroes who don't wear capes. Aside from all the wonderful things my daughter shares about her amazing guides, I could also see how the kids are always engaged, the classroom is always squeaky clean, and the overall atmosphere is always peaceful and calming. And that's a classroom of about 20 young children! I used to work in classrooms as a therapist and I know this is NOT something easily accomplished without extraordinary classroom management skills, consistent routines, and being awesome/reliable adults for the kids. Other guides, such as Ms. Theresa and Ms. Dawn are also very beloved by us. I love that the school's evening guides & floating guides are awesome, consistent, and eager to share with us what my daughter did that day! In the four months at guidepost @ south riding, I have nothing but wonderful things to say about everything and everyone at this school. We look forward to my daughter growing up here until elementary school!

My child attended this school for quite some time. To say that they need an improvement and to step…read moreup their game is an understatement. Lunch is provided only Monday - Thursday. Friday you are required to pack. They are constantly changing the classroom that your child is in (also changing the teacher) which becomes very confusing, not only for the child but for the parent as well. You never know where to drop off or pick up your child because again, they are switching rooms way too much. When you pick up your child, you can never find them, you must also search each room for their coat and belongings because NO ONE has any idea where they are!! And they never bother to help find them either. The teachers do not teach a meaningful curriculum, which is not their fault but I still needed to point out. The preschool program does not start until age 4, which only gives the child a year to learn the necessities they need before kindergarten. Which I feel is not enough time at all. In the time that my child attended here, I noticed no difference in his knowledge. In fact, I noticed that his behavior continued to get worse. Maybe due to the fact that there is no consistency in this school, or maybe the fact that he continued to get into trouble for petty things. ( for example, I received a Letter home that he had a bad day for trying to kiss a friend, and because he dropped a cookie and ate it off the floor). Typical 3 year old behavior. I complained at one point because he continued to come up with poopy underwear and no one would notice and change him (even though he stunk) and no one would help him to wipe to prevent this issue. Literally THE NEXT WEEK after I complained, I was bombarded with a meeting when I walked in for pickup stating that my child's behavior has been out of control for months and was basically given no choice by the owner and director but to get my child tested for special needs. What!?!? I was confused as to why his behavior WAS NEVER mentioned before. I can not tell you how much my son has improved since LEAVING this school. He knows his ABC's, he can count to 10 in Spanish, his behavior has improved DRAMATICALLY, he even comes home singing songs that he learned. The best thing about this school was our last day and never having to come back!!!! There are a few good teachers, but the director Ms. Wally and owner Ms. Liz just make this place hell in a hand basket. NOT the jack and Jill school that it used to be when I attended as a child! UPDATE: there was never a five star review and no one ever tried to "help" my child. If you consider forcing us to get him tested for special needs because he doesn't "behave like a normal three year old" (even though his pediatrician, special needs teacher that we spoke to, and multiple friends and family members said he is completely normal and actually advanced for his age!!) and having him come home crying everyday because his teacher was "mean to him" and he got in trouble for kissing a friend or eating the cookie off the floor that he dropped, if you consider that to be "helping him", then maybe you are the one that needs to be tested! This school helped with nothing but making our lives a nightmare for the last few months. I wish I had listened to the previous employee who warned me not to send my child here. Just beware!!
