I wasn't aware, at the time, that this church was in Splendora. I was directed to this church and began attending over 7 years ago. The pastor, his wife and the congregation welcomed me as their Sister-in-Christ. Attending several churches my whole life, I never heard the gospel of grace presented the way Pastor Walter teaches. I had accepted Christ many years ago but, at times, questioned my relationship with Christ. The Lord God opened my eyes to His truth and it changed my life. I went through a very trying time during the 3 1/2 years I attended. Our church showered me with love and compassion, which helped me heal and move forward. I was involved with a small group there and it was my favorite time during the week. Fellowship, a meal and deep study of the word. There's nothing better than that! I moved away in 2019, but visit when I can while in the area. I highly recommend, if you've never stepped foot in a church or possibly quit going, give HighPoint Fellowship an opportunity to show you love, acceptance and the truth of God's word. I am so dissappointed in this church!! A friend of mine has been going here since it formed and has volunteered there ever since. Now she is getting married and of course wanted the ceremony to be at HER church. They wanted $2,000 to rent the church just for the ceremony. I couldn't believe it! The pastor was even floored and tried to get the people who run the business end of the church to reconsider, which they wouldn't. $2,000 to use a church for an hour is ridiculous and greedy! I thought churches were not for profit? I will never step foot in this place again. If I want a church that is so hung up on money that they will treat a loyal member this way, I'll go down the road to a snooty, stuck-up, souless "Super-church." read more

I just accidentally stumbled across this, and I'm shocked. I'm sorry the first poster has such a bad opinion of this church, but I can understand why. I went to church there for seven years, and never heard of such a thing, but I'm not saying that wasn't the case because (come to think of it) I can't recall there ever being an announcement for a wedding. I've never thought of that. But I haven't attended church there for almost three years either. I loved that church and the minister there so much that when we had to move away, I cried for them for a couple of years because I missed them so much. And, three years later, I've yet to find another church that I feel as much at home as I did there. My whole family agrees. I hope the friend mentioned in the other review had a nice wedding, wherever it was. I was extremely ill for six months this year, and almost died several times. I was taken to the hospital four times, and I have to admit that after a couple of months, I became bitter. Very bitter. I believe if I was still attending that church that I would have stayed grounded. I sincerely believe that. read more
